***Glucose test at 24-28wks preggy

Hi mummies

I had previously had pre-eclampsia in my first pregnancy. Now having my second child at 25wks. Not a spring chicken anymore Hehhe in my 30s. My gynae asked me to go for a blood glucose test as he was worried that diabetes would complicated my pregnancy. I was told the Glucose test would take abt 3hrs!

Anyone gone for this test? Is it painful and do they take alotta blood from the same spot three times? Thanks in advance

Hi,

The test wasn't as bad as it sound .
You just need to finsh a bottle of Glucose tolerance beverage within 10 mins I think & wait for about 2 hours.
Before & after they will draw some blood for test.
That's all. Within a day or 2 they will call to adv result.

This shld be the test your Gynae is referring to

Thanks! I just had my test and all went well as you advised, it was over in 2hr. And thankfully my blood tests were normal. I can pig out on occasional durians and ice cream liao!

I wasn't as lucky.
My 1st & 2nd both I kana so have to control diet

Even so ... Its Wasn't so bad
