Hello all sorry i mean can't choose gender! It's typo error. Btw i heard from my friend that her friend from overseas did ivf in Spore and she request the Dr to choose gender and Dr allow it! But i didn't ask which hospital and which Dr.

No way! So you mean I'll have to set up a uk account? Or can I change the currency in my account? Thanks for the tip dear!

Just hv to change e payment currency to pounds in your acct. You try first, works for me everytime so far! :)

I was telling my mil that when baby is born, i want to breastfeed 100% but she said I can TRY breastfeed during daytime n give formula milk at night so that I can sleep. I am not comfortable with her idea cos it will be a mixture and I don't want baby drink formula milk but at the same time I scare I do not have or enough milk especially the first week.

My friend told me she was devastated that her cl kept suggesting her to give formula milk when she tried very hard to breastfeed but her breasts were very sore and engorged. I scare I will be like her.. to mummies who have kids, how did u manage? Is my mil's idea practical to try?

Hello May mummies! I'm new here and my EDD is 12 May.

This is my first pregnancy and I find that I'm worrying over everything! I ate sliced fish bee hoon thinking that the sliced fish is probably common/safe, but I just found out that the fish used is usually batang or snakehead, which are both high in mercury level. Now I'm scared because I ate it about once a week during my first trimester (it was one of the only things I could stomach :().

Does anyone have a similar experience with foods that we are not supposed to take?

I wanted to breastfeed 100%, but i was tired out by the 2 hourly feeding. My baby was a small eater, doesn't latch well. I was crying and screaming at hubby at little things. To save our sanity, we supplemented with formula..my hubby could feed while i catch up on rest. It lessen my stress and i could keep on moo-ing until my boy was 9 month old.

There's no right or wrong. Go with your instinct. Mothers know best for their children :)

Ahh i shld direct you to my previous rant abt this topic. Breastfeeding is a challenging thing. I bf for 6 mths while on partial fm and even then drove me crazy cos of all the stress and expectations.

Take things as they come k, if can 100% bf then really good for you. If need to use fm there is also absolutely nothing wrong.

Hi littleforest,

I think food wise, try to stay away from uncooked stuff such as sashimi and you shld be fine. Hmm i thot e normal fish soup at hawker centres / food courts should be fine le, nvr really find out wat kind of fish dat is.

Generally we can still eat most foods according to the english dr. TCM drs may have some restrictions, see which you believe more :) im eating lots of rubbish now, incl instant noodles n fast food sighsss. Bad cravings. Cannot stomach healthy soupy stuff.

Nway if unsure, do chk w gynae.

My #1 I latch on for breastfeed in e morning n nite time formula so I find is ok even better so he know latch on n bottle on the same time.. don't stress up.just give what you have if even during day time nt enough breast mill just top up w formula. Is for u n baby gd

Thank you all. Seems like bf problem is the same everywhere n I shld learn to accept if can't bf or under stress..after all confinement period is also crucial for mommy's well being.. if fm, can u suggest what good brand to get? I will go and buy to stock up. Because of bf potential problem, I don't dare to invest in electric pump now..

Where did u rant? In this May forum too? I always tot bf will naturally come n nvr come it can be difficult till my fren told me she depressed. So I think I need to get prepared for the worst..

I also ate sliced fish soup as normal. Sometimes I really dunno what i want to eat also though I am hungry.. and every 2hrs or so I feel super weird. Hungry but no mood to eat. Nausea but nv puke. Just cant describe with words lo..

For my #1, I was not successful in BF. Only able to sustain for 2 months.

Armed with all the failures for my #1, I was determined to TBF my #2 for as long as I could which I manged to do it for 8 months.

Just a prelude to what a 100% bf will be like.
After giving birth at hospital, I indicated that I want tbf, no formula. When you press your nipple, there is only gel like substance coming out. Don't worry, just let the baby suckle for every 3 hrs for 15mins or more alternate breast in the hospital.

Don't bother to pump for the first week, you won't be getting any substantial amount, just feed on demand. By the seven days, the milk supply will come in.

Once milk supply came in, you can expect erratic feeding times for the 1st and 2nd months. On good days, it can be 2 hours stretch. Sometimes, it maybe 1 hour or 30mins stretch.

I have encounter before especially at night, for a period of 2 hours, that the bb wants to nurse for every 30mins stretch. It is very demanding.

That is how a 100% bf will be like for you. I didn't supplement with formula and I didn't express out for CL to feed at night.

Husband support is very important and don't care about what CL and relatives said and you will be able to do it. You must be very determined if you want to TBF.

Thanks for all your replies! :)

I can understand how you feel about having nausea and not puking... The frustrating part was that people kept saying that because it's just nausea without puking, I must be having it easy. >_<

@4gals, any tips to prevent cracked nipples? The pain was unbearable. That's when I gave up latching and switched to pumping.

I didn't experience any cracked nipples, only soreness as bb tends to feed very frequently during the first 2 months.

This is what I do when my milk supply comes in. I will squeeze a little milk out to coat the nipples before a feed. After a feed, I will squeeze and coat again, then fan the nipples using my hand to let the milk coating dry before wearing back the nursing bra. By doing this, I didn't encounter any cracked nipples just soreness.

It is okay to feel a sharp pain when you first latch on during a feed. As the feeding session continue on, this pain will go away. If I remember correctly, from the 3rd month onwards, you won't feel this sharp pain when nursing as the nipples are used to frequent feeding.

Like what cynn04 said, when we're in 3rd trimester, we will discuss about bf more and the problems. So that we can make our bf journey less stressful.

Exactly! Everytime ppl said no puking my pregnancy is better than theirs. I feel puking is not a bad thing, will feel relieved afterwards.. happened to me once and I felt good from morning until nausea hit me again ard 4-5pm. Its a cycle. Hope to stop soon as I dunno how long more I can tahan this. Especially when works is getting more stressful.. esp I have yet to tell my bosses about it. And at office I "look" perfectly normal..

Mommies who did harmony test at NUH. Did u book the harmony test thru your pte gynae outside nuh? Or did u juz book it yourself at nuh fetal care ctr?
I tried to book myself at nuh fetal care ctr & they said they don't accept outside pte patients.

What's your feedback on prof biswas babygaga?
I also prefer girl cos can doll them up but as long as healthy boy or girl also good for us too :)

I've only seen him for the second time but so far so good. He is quite nice. I did some research on internet about him before I chose him as my gynae and reviews seem quite good.

Hello Mummies to be.
I went for my OSCAR test today and did the scan.
Scan results were fine and they called me later today to tell me that we passed with flying colours. So happy.
Dr Benjamin Tham actually calculated my EDD differently from what I had previously did (I used the first day of last period method).

Baby is measured at 12W1D today. Hubby and I saw our baby moving today and we were both so excited.
Told Gynae my concern of weight loss and nausea and he mentioned that it is normal as I'm entering into 2nd Trimester and things should start to ease.

I just joined this forum! :) i m 12w now. My MS doesnt happen in e morning but always in e evening after work.. Anyone same as me?
Just done oscar test last wed, nasal bone thickness is okay waiting for blood test result now..

Mine always happens in the evening as well. ARGH!

@BubsandBloms good luck for your Oscar Scan!
Actually I also realise my nipple skin start to peel off. I think thats normal. Hehe.

Im thinking to upgrade my bra soon cause I feel my current bra cup size is not fit now.
Anyone start to upgrade bra already?

my nipples itch so badly that i scratch until bleeding..so tml see gynae must ask for solution liao :(

Yup, my nipples started crackling but I just leave it, trying hard not to scratch it. Haha.

For first time mummies, are your tummy growing bigger now we r on our 2nd trimester? Mine still seems quite small except in the evening after meal. Bb bump seems more obvious. I am still wearing my normal clothes except sometimes have to un buckle the pants haha

momocrv, me too! My tummy always looks bigger from afternoon onwards after having meals but the next morning when I woke up, it shrunk again. I was quite concern but today my gynae said it is perfectly normal especially for the first pregnancy, bump won't be too obvious until 5 months onwards. I am still wearing my normal clothes too. When I take mrt, also no one gave up their seats to me. Lol!

Same! I look like I'm between having snacked too much and having a baby bump haha. I used to get a lot of seat offers before I got pregnant because I had a belly, but strangely right after I got pregnant the seat offers stopped.

I read that some people can feel their baby moving around this time; has anyone felt it yet?

Me too. Doesnt seems to have baby bump in e morning. Only feel my stomach is harder. Some tight skirts are killing me so I stop wearing them. All in all I have yet to gain weight. In fact lose abit. Every night I show my hubby the baby bump and he just commented, still flat. Lol. Hope nausea stop soon. My gynae also said my baby size seems bigger than its calculated age. About 7.2cm now almost 13wks.

I dont think i feel the baby movement yet though sometimes I feel something swimming in there. But I think its just me la. Haha.

@momocrv, I am 17 weeks today. I feel my tummy growing bigger and harder now. But I am still wearing my normal clothes, but those loose one. I cannot wear those tight one anymore. But now I start wearing pants without button. Just feel uneasy with the buttoned pants.

I read that some people can feel their baby moving around this time; has anyone felt it yet?

@littleforest, I think i can feel baby movement now, although still very subtle and only can feel it when I am lying down doing nothing. Otherwise, I do not feel anything. So still not regular yet. Hopefully I can feel it stronger by another week. How about you?

You are lucky! I can't wear many of my old stuff any more. I'm only at week 12! I used to be pretty small framed la, 46kg. Now I'm about 48plus! Some times even 49! My skirts were size 6, now cannot wear them any more. :( I had to buy maternity jeans and a maternity pencil skirt and two dresses from ASOS.
