Sleeping

My bb had some problem sleeping when he was ard 6-7 weeks. Same problem as what other mummies are facing. Once I put him on bed he will wake up and he doesn't fall asleep until 1-2am. A friend recommended that we bring bb for massage. We brought bb to a TMC clinic that specialises in baby 推拿. The physician will massage the accupoint on hand, tummy and back. Went there for 3 times and saw improvement. Bb sleeps better and fall asleep easily. I only need to carry him for ard 10 min compared to 30 min before the massage, and he will fall asleep and I can put him down on the bed. Will monitor him for another few more days.

For mommies who latch on, can I know:

1. How do you know ur bb is full

2. How long do u usually latch?

Whenever I latch on, I always feel my bb is not full and will feed in another 1 plus to 2 hours.

I used petpet once I think cannot absorb well. Won't use it again.

Winny- my baby will unlatch herself or release the nipple

Usually about half hr to an hour. Depends.

Baby will let u know when they are full. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Hi! My bb will unlatch herself too but she seems to be hungry in another hour or so.

Do you retrigger ur bb to latch again?

Winny

My BB will unlatch himself usually abt 15min of feeding but sometimes will jus latch for 5min then release himself if this'd e case he'll cry for milk in an hr time agn.. he used to feed on every hr but I try prolong his feeding time now n at gd times he'll feed 3hrs later else I try to control within 1.5-2 hr. But 3hrs feeding i've engorgement on e other breast but still I didn't pump I jus wait for his next feeding time. Sometimes esp in e middle of e nite when he's more cranky n doesnt wan anything beside latching on he can go in for an hr..

Wah 3 hours and u have engorgement! I think I'll have engorgement if it's more than 6 hours.

Just now bb latch 1 side for almost 1 hour and less than 3 hours she wants to drink again. I'm very dry I think that's why she latch for so long.

Winny

I alt my breast so e engorged breast wait 6 hrs then engorged.. my BB slp on pillow made by MIL n e part his head lies on is 'dented' n MIL modify it few times but still e same..

Hi bubblygeekypig, I may sound crazy but sometimes I prefer my breast to be engorged so I know there's milk. Without engorgement, I feel insecure and always feel bb wouldn't have enough. Keke..

Kaelyn,

By now, the total amount of milk produced by your body should have stablized. Give your body a few days to adjust to the longer interval between each expression. U will feel slight engorgement for 1 or 2 days. Then,it will go away as the body will get use to the longer interval. Then after that, increase it to 4 hour interval...U will still get the same total amount of milk.

You feel engorged because you are supposed to express at 2 hour interval but you switched to 3 hour interval, so milk is "stuck" inside your body. Can use cold cabbage to relieve the engorgement but not too often as it will reduce the milk supply (unless that's your intention).

thanks creamdonut!

mummies, any of your babies have whitish stuff on their tongue? i tried cleaning off with towel but can't seem to come out...how?

Mrs chun : my cl say whitish on tongue can't be clear . It's is because after fm or bm you never straight away give bb drink water so after a long period it get stuck on tongue if keep on nv drink water after feeding in the long run bb will tend to dun like milk and dun drink more as she feel her tongue got sth there.

Hey mummies,

I just got to know on the five baby language last weeks.

Have tried it on my 7 weeks old baby girl and it really works.

Caring for her is no longer so stressful when she cries nowadays.

Really like to share this to as many mummies as possible.

Now I am able to tell when she wants milk or when she need burping. Even when she is sleepy or feeling bloated with wind or too hot I could tell immediately. It is just so amazing...

Mommies, my bb is 2 months old yesterday and I'm considering to intro more fm to my bb. I feel my Bm supply dropped drastically as I hardly get engorgement now and without engorgement I feel I cannot meet her demand causing her not enough rest/sleep.

I feel really guilty both ways but after measuring pros and cons I think this is a better option for both of us.

The rest of the mommies who r still tbf, JIA YOU!!

Mrschun: it will go away as he grow up. Just rem after feeding give him drink some water to clean the milk from his tongue. Keeping continuing doing if not it will get thicker next time feed fm headache le. Good luck

Dear mummies,

Hw do u nod if bb is sick or juz having too much mucus?

My bb has 'blocked' nose for a few days already... She doesn't has running nose bt can hear her nose is blocked when she breathes, shall I bring her to see doc or juz use the solution? TIA.

Hi rejoy28, my bb has blocked nose too but her pd say that's due to small passage way. She asked me to monitor if she has diff drinking milk. If no then it's ok.

SLEEP THROUGH

my bb doesn't sleep through but at least she's waking up like 5am so still ok. I'm giving her more fm at her last night feed.

Hi mummies

I am due in Jun 12 next year and is currently looking for CL. Do you have any good/not bad CL contact to share? Pls PM if you do have any CL to recommend. Thankyou!

hi mommies

pardon for the intrusion.

if u r staying around Jurong West / Pioneer Mrt and planning to look for a nanny to babysit once u return to work, pls read on..

Wld like to recommend my ex nanny who has been taking care of my girl since she's 3mths old. We have to stop her service last mth as we finally got a place offer in the childcare center.

Our initial plan was to let my girl enrol when she turns 3YO in 2013. But CC called just few mths back to offer enrolment in Dec.

I do not gain anything by recommending. Just feel bad tat we have to stop her service early cos babysitting is part of nanny's income contribution to her household expenses. Hence was hoping to spread ard to see if she can get another baby to take care.

She's able to start after CNY 2012.

Pls PM me if you are interested and wanna understand more.. tks !

Dear mommies, my bb has been latching and bottle fed but I've decided to stop bf but this morning she refused to drink fr bottle and instead she wants to be latched. Do you know how to change bb's preference? It would be a prob when I start working if she doesn't want to be bottle fed.

Libra bb, she has been very flexible. I gave her avent and Medela all the time and if course latch on but this morning she insist latching on. Ya have to be patient and I think mommies who are going back to work soon should start training our little ones to bottle feed. If not then it would be a headache.

Hi, anyone using avent electric breast pump? I'm having some problem with the pump. Milk is collected in the circular rubber part that is in contact with the motor. I know it's not suppose to collect milk there. Sometimes the milk collected is so much that it will overflow during pumping.

I went to Philips consumer care and they say the part may be faulty and gave me a new one. But the problem still remain. Does anyone have the same problem?

I'm going back to work in feb. On 3.5 months of maternity leave. Think I will miss bb very much too. He will be spending more time with my MIL instead. I don't like that thought [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]
