mdmkhoo and those who passed the DS, congrats! what a relieve right? i am super scared now.. cos still cant feel bb and DS scan is next tue. I really really scared. think i start to have some prenatal blues... was so stressed over it, mainly cos dh has not been ard since cny day 3. luckily he is coming back tmr... i felt so alone at home... talk to bb no response... argh, i am gg crazy

Cos the nurses happily let me change my appt twice, and even though i told her that i postpone my appt so that i can do the DS on 20th week, she actually told me i can even do it on 16th week!

???

 
feimei: oh sorry i knew the gender long ago so forgot to mention--it's a boy [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] doc pointed to that part again today and said "no doubt, for sure, boy" and looked at my DH haha. u still dunno yours yet right? i think i bet on boy previously ;P



haha glad to hear i'm not the only one with peeing problems! for me it's literally drink, pee, drink, pee--almost immediate effect, wonder what use is my bladder currently, doesn't seem to be able to store anything!



i think 100 plus, gatorade etc are isotonic drinks? though was thinking shouldn't drink too much also if they contain too much sugar?

 
pinkyrose & mdmkhoo, very hard not to be scared. cos i had a collegue whose wife aborted the bb after found out that bb is abnormal. so i super scared... cos dh and my family everyone kows liao...

pillow: cheer up, don't be stressed, it'll be fine!! i also still haven't felt my baby yet. doc asked me today whether i've felt, i said no, and she said i've probably already felt it but just didn't know what it was! she said it should be the area below/ around the belly button. i told her i'd felt something below my breasts and she laughed and said that was probably gas :p



jas: mine was scheduled for around week 19 (though now that my EDD has changed, turns out i was actually at week 20 today). ur EDD is around same as mine right, so should be able to go already. i think her machine can see things quite early cos i saw even from my week 11 Down's Syndrome scan that there were comments on the baby's liver/ abdomen etc there. but her print-out not that clear though, i found that the picture DH took of the baby on the screen was much better, so will bring camera to doc appt from now on [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

 
pillow> what abnormality made your colleague abort the baby? thought some pple only abort if down's syndrome, u mean even if eg cleft lip or weak heart also will abort????

 
Pillow - not to worry before i got bubbles feeling i was also very worried as i had 2 MC prior to this... But scan results all very positive...



Stay happy than will have a cheerful bb...

 
Coopie - i also know of a MTB who also abort when found out that certain internal organs are not functioning normally and will need long term care... As parents they do not wish to have worries when they pass on that the child is not able to be independent or become a burden to their sliblings...

 
Pillow: can share your anxietycos u never know what is gg on inside..but most imptly, maintain a happy & positive mood rather than keep on worrying, which is not gd for the bb also..

will kegel exe help with the leaking prob? For me also rather cham as I tend to hv sneezing prob..can literally sneeze 20 times in a row & really hv to control my bladder when i sneeze

Is there any report for DS?? My scenario is this.. I have actually booked the DS and appt with gynae (Dr Khong) at KKH on 28 Feb. However, I am in the midst of changing gynae (Dr Y C Goh) as I wanna to deliver in Mount A. My friend told me that during her pregnancy, she did the DS in Mount A and gotta wait for 2 weeks for the report to be out... thus i am totally confused... [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif] Should I cancel the appt in KKH and wait for Dr Goh to arrange the DS in Mount A??



During my last scan with Dr Goh, he cant see any birdie and confirm 80% to be gal gal... ;) Due date shall remains 22 Jul...

 
actually to share..my #1 got cleft palate and I'm really worried that it will be heredity as after asking the doc, who operated on my #1 when he was 5 mth old, he also hv no explainations why he has cleft palate. In fact, didn't even know my boy got cleft palate until he was 1 mth old when he was crying during the 1 mth check up at poly..

kegel exercise..yep..supposed to strengthen our muscles down there right..so not too sure whether helps in leakage prob..if so, i must be reminded to do more..

 
lynn> ah i see...didn't know the scan could tell the severity of the "abnormality" so well, to know that long term care by other pple is needed. was thinking can operate after baby's born to try to cure the "abnormal" parts. anyway hope everyone's baby will be healthy and normal!



ivfamily> my peeing problem is actually frequent peeing, not leaking. though i used to have a bit of leaking too but started doing kegal exercises once in awhile and it's helped a bit. i read that other than normal kegal exercises when u're sitting down, can also try it when u're peeing, ie learn to control your urine and stop it mid stream, then pee again, then stop again etc...



hmm if you couldn't tell your boy had a cleft palate till he was 1 mth old, then it was probably not very major. hope everything's fine now and your #2 will be ok [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]



karen> i got an official report right after my appt, but already knew the results during the scan itself. the doc just went thru the organs part by part with me and explained as she went along what was what, and how it was normal, etc.

hmm..even if u reduced ur water intake also still hv the frequent peeing prob? But then again, also not wise not to drink sufficient water..

I read somewhere that controlling your urine & stopping it mid-stream too often is not gd in the long run..not sure whether i rem correctly..

Hmm..luckily he is ok now after his operation..but really heart pain then cos imagine seeing a little bb undergg operation at only 5 mths..

now the main thing still how to chase my MIL back to her kampong her thing take up space in the nursery room she feel that the room is hers and she told me my bb can sleep in her room... we never say is her room... she self proclaim to own the room...

feimei > ya she super think skin somemore she like to showoff she want to buy a bigger hse in malaysia at first she traget me and DH but heng gov can up a rule cannot own pte prop if nv stay 5 years the flat... then she aim her younger son... she want move to bangalow... RM$1000+ a month... i told DH dun pay half coz hse not under his name... coz i know sure the hse next time will not be his... she at first say put her name and my BIL name but DH share half say next time hse will leave to him. my DH smart he knows she lied that the hse sure is my BIL nia...



Nope... never that is heng i am now looking for day confinement....

Coopie - I have also not done my DS so not sure what is like... But I think they will be able to tell fm shape and size to judge if normal or not... That helps in decision making...



That is why we are paying extra for this scan...

 
baby > for now is twice a mth she intend to quit her job and stay forever with us she paster me and DH to apply LTSV pass for her... i told DH not to apply for her...

Lynn, you can buy the freestyle from US spree but with no local warranty, it costs about 450 i think.. The local set now i think having promotion which costs $800 at United Square.cOr you can get second hand one, change the tubing, Freestyle® Spare Parts Kit, and the breast shields. To me, it can be re-used cos as long as motor is working good, the rest of the parts all can change so hygiene is not an issue if you change all. It is expensive cos of its motor!
