Hello all, have been super busy and no time to read/ post much, but just saw this and thought should share what I learnt from Wong Boi Boi's antenatal class.
- Coconut water: she said start from week 36. Purpose is to cool down the body. I can't remember how many times a week though.
- Bird's nest: she said it has no real value other than protein and whitening effect (said she saw a case where both parents quite dark but baby came out fair apparently cos of the bird's nest). Should be drunk on empty stomach (ie at least 4 hours before/ after food), if not no effect at all.
- Durians: ok to eat, main effect is that baby will grow. I can testify to this cos my baby was 1.6kg at week 29+ after I started eating durians a few times a week... Doctor says my baby will be at least 3.6kg at birth which I'm a little worried about, so trying to cut down durians a little, but really so addictive I can't help it..I will eat one whole mao shan wang by myself a few times a week, hubby thinks I've gone mad, but durian is really my all-time favourite food [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]
