Sean, my daughter is only taking 60ml every 2 hrs now at 3 weeks old... small eater. I rather she drinks more. As for the rashes, i just wipe with cooled boiled water everyday. I rem i read one mummy post that she used destin cream for her baby's rashes, maybe u can try. Or if u worry, just bring her to PD to get some cream.

 


Cheerymum:not sure if it cos it a girl that y a smaller eater compare to mine.hehehe.Eat more or less doesnt matter..as long as bb are healthy, that most impt.I think i will try yr method, if not better...i will go to get some cream for him.



How the schedule for your bb sleeping pattern like?

 
Sean: Ya.. am hoping he can do that everyday. Can only hope for the best. Your BB is still young.. he will when he grow older.



Cheerymum: Yesterday is the 2nd night I am taking care of him. If he can do it every night, I will be very happy liao.



Oh.. ok.. then I give him everyday then. Think it really help him. Actually can we put the gripe water into milk for him to drink? Just wondering.

 
cheerymum: my bb also same as urs. 60ml every 2 hrs. She's also 3 weeks old.



Am so tired coz bb refuse to slp from 9pm to 5am! in the end put her in sarong for the first time for a while, she fell asleep. But once carry her out to bed, she woke up within 10 min. Nw she is so sleepy she dun even wan to finish her milk..

 
Ann, i will mix the gripe water with abit of warm water and feed. The taste is sweet so most babies will drink. No need to add into milk.



Sean, the past few nights my baby has been waking up every 2 hrs for milk. It's so tiring for me. She used to sleep 3-4 hrs at night before her next feed but no longer so now. Haizzz

as for bb poo, its ok cause bm is easily digested. must monitor more on the pee pee.. try to make that umm umm sound and see if it motivates your bb to poo poo..

 
Sweetkiss, does ur baby also drinks every 2 hrs at night? Daytime 2 hrs interval nvm... now my baby at night also like that. I don't have a good sleep for many many days already. Everyday is just like taking a nap, feeding, burping.. and it goes on and on...

 
my hubby slept in the room last night.. he had been sleeping outside since bb poped cause he snores loudly... then poor celeste.. she gg to doze off and got woken up by her dad's snore.. and it kept going on and on until she gave up sleeping!!! i battle with her from 2.30am - 5.15am.. and she woke up at 9+am, drank for 10 mins ONLY! then i changed her diapers and she poo big time..tried to latch her but she is sleeping like a log... -_-



now waiting for her to wake up for her next feed and see if she can make it up for the last feed..



i ended up pumping cause i was engorged.. guess what? 100ml jus on the right side.. now im feeling so much better...

Feeding



My son is 2 weeks now... he has been drinking 90ml of ebm since he was warded for jaundice at day 6. He usually feeds abt 2.5 to 3 hour. If EMB, can last him to 3 hours in the day. If latch on, abt 2.5 h. However, come night time, I latch him on at 7pm, then he will ask for milk again ard 8.30pm. Last night I tried gave him a bottle of 90ml EBM at 11pm (instead of latch on) to see how long he can last. No bad. He only woke me up at 3.30am, then 6.30am and then 9.30am. Now still Zzzing. I still got time to express this morning though not alot. Actually prefer to just latch on. Just that it's very tiring coz latch on = 30minutes. Pump = 10 to 15 minutes and feed = 10 minutes. somemore some1 can feed the BB and I can nap. Will only start to store in milk bags next month for later on when I return to work.



He is getting chubbier [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] Going to borrow a weighing maching for BB from a friend to weigh him at home. Guess I can then see if he's drinking enough and growing well coz he doesn't poo regularly. Pee alot though.

My baby also at 3 weeks, also started waking up every 2 hrs yest night! It's growth spurt, right? Initially I was so worried, thought colic. But she just wants to feed then will go back to sleep. But now mama n papa have panda eyes la. This morning also continue 2 hrly feeding. I read it will last abt 3 days?

 
Serene: thanks for your advice...now my wifey is at Mount A for her check up..will ask her to pop by to the clinic to see if she can get the med..cos bb at home.



Cannot make that sound if not wait i cant tahan and want to run to toilet how?wahahaha



Alpheus sleeping and feeding pattern is abit weird comparing to some who have shared...this is what he will do:



He will wake up between 5:30am-6am for his feed,then open eyes big big and looking around quitely in his cot.Then he will take 2nd feed @ 8-9am, after that will be ard 2.5hr or 3 hours a feed till late noon. Then will turn into 4-5hours a feed. So usually we will feed him at ard 11pm-12mn...so that he will only wake up ard 3am if he is hungry or wait till 5:30am then eat...not sure if that norm...hmm..

Just to check any of u induce before at KKH? Induce cost is it alone or consider in the package?



The gynae say she isn't sure of the cost but mention later after insert pill will be pushed to normal ward...

It's normal. Try to do the 11pm one as dream feed, i.e., BB still asleep. Prior to that can also let BB tank up (store to last through the night). Sooner or later BB will drop the night feed.



I hope my #2 will drop his night feed by 3 months... His gor gor dropped it at 2.5months old. Last feed at 11pm then morning feed at 7am to 8am.

Sillyhp: i usually also try to tanked up abit...so that hopefully he can cut down on his night feed..hahaha( not so siong ma)..



The only thing is that he will keep looking around every moring after the feed till his 2nd feed...not sure what he is looking at also..hahaha

 
Phy, I hope my baby can be like urs drink more during the day so that it can last her longer at night. But the prob is I give more, she can't finish but wants to drink again 2 hrs later. Some times is 1.5hr interval. She is slow drinker also, can take up to 45 mins to finish 60ml milk bottle feeding. Duno how to improve her feeding n sleeping schedule. Although my elder kid is cranky when baby that time but no prob at all for feeding.

 
Phy: gynae say BB growing bigger liao no space later i wan natural very hard ask me induce and now BB engage only but 1cm dilate still cannot wait further...

 
My bb is 6weeks old this week and the growth spurt has began. He is drinking 110ml every 2 hrs, if latch, every 1.5hrs. I havent been sleeping more than 3hrs daily eversince number 1 was sick last week too..



hopefully, this will stop soon...

When i had number 1, i had no maid, so my dad will tabao food for me. then i will rush to bath and do things when bb is sleeping.

Don't despair k? Different BBs different temperaments... Both of my boys are born quite big, #1 at 3.65kg and #2 at 3.67kg. #1 born 39wk6days while #2 39wk4days.. Think maturity and size does affect feeding. Both are guzzles (as what PD called #1 coz feed alot and suckle well).



Maybe u can let ur girl cry a bit before feeding? Let her get a bit impatient? Then perhaps she can finish up her 60ml of milk faster? Oh, how abt teat size? Maybe flow too small and she gets sleepy after sucking for a while?

 
Mummies who have completed their confinement- have u all started ur exercise ? Can share wat exercise u gals doing ? Me going back to work in sep. Hoping to be in my best form cos all my co are in their best form when they return to work after their birth. Envy them!

I've delivered yesterday (26 Jul 2010, Mon) @ 4.30pm in TMC, to a health baby boy - my little prince, Isaias, after about 10hrs of labour.



Weight = 2.63kg

Height = 49cm



Natural with epi & assisted birth (vacuum).



Now tailbone super painful cuz has been misaligned due to delivery & gynae said I'd need to see a Chiropractor in future to get it "fixed".

nope i have not started exercise. With baby waking up so often at night, i think losing weight is not an issue soon =p

also breastfeeding will help lose weight.

only plan to go to the gym at 3mths, get personal trainer.



if go to early, then milk suppy will drop. so i hope to get milk supply stable first.



how many more kgs to go before yr pre preg weight?

My husband also snores loudly! I find that I sleep better nowadays without him in the room! Haha!!! I still can manage my #2 on my own at night!! In the past I always got woken up by his snores! But ssshhhhh...I'm not going to tell him that :p

Ya ya share with me how to lose the weight! I am thinking of asking my massuer for slimming massage (cum wrap) and go for acupunture and also gym... Die die must lose the weight!



So far only lost 7kg. Still trying to lose more! Bfing thus help but once stop,all weights come back. That's what happened to me when I stopped Bfing my #1 when he turned 1 yr old.

 
phy:7kg is alot liao ah....not sure if acupunture going to help...cos i promise to "sponsor" my wifey to go for all slimming session...sigh..*looking at bigger hole*

At 1st still thought may be overdue and need to induce today (actual EDD) but looks like BB was ready to come out yest....exactly 1 month after mummy's BD [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]



Now I have to sit with the float & sleep sideway, got to bear with this soreness & pain of the tailbone for at least a few weeks....siao liao :p

cheerymum: yes nite time she also wakes up 2 to 3 hrs to feed. I am so tired ! And latching is painful for me still. Do u latch or bottle feed?



Fazzy: hope mine is growth spurt too.. the first time she acted like this was during 1 week plus. The nite before she was still gd, wake up for feed, then go back to sleep. Only last nite she start to stay awake till 5am. . Now i juz fed her 2 hrs ago with FM which she didnt finish, latched her on for 10 min and she still nt sleeping!

Hey guys,i am back!



Baby Chloe is born at 7:46pm via Ceasarean (yes.. induction failed! My dilation was too slow T_T, only opened till 5cm from 12-7pm) weighs 3.49kg. Didn't go for GA, Anesthetist said it's better to go half.. wah damn scary to even think about it.. but no choice liao! HA! not painful at all, and from the cut to hearing bb's cry only takes about 5 minutes! Quite an exciting experience, maybe next time i just opt for C-sect liao, not scared already, and it's faster.



Actually i have been stimulating my nipples since 2nd trimester when i first discovered drops of colostrum on the nipple ( went to squeeze for fun to check if i got milk) Then i stopped stimulating the nipples when i found out it might cause contraction, but started to stimulate AGAIN towards my EDD cuz i wanted to trigger contraction.



Started BF yesterday 12am, BB Chloe sucked very well, it was so amazing to see human basic instinct, her mouth just opened widely and looked for my nipple.. so touched to see that! then she just latched on perfectly not painful for me too =D Lactation consultant said i have quite a lot of colostrum, and i can see white liquid in her mouth, also spit once..



First session of BF at 12am, i sweat like hell.. dunno how to hold dunno this dunno that.. bb cried and i felt so lousy..was it because i did sth wrongly? luckily hubby is very supportive he still said i did a good job and i will be a great mummy.



Second seesion of BF at 4am, this time round we were more used to each other, she is so new to me and so do i to her.. not too scared to hold her anymore, and could feel that she trusted me more. She sucked really well this time, half and hour on each breast, then i played with her for a while, latch her again, she sucked another 1/2 hour. We spent time together till 6am haha..



Third session of Bf was this morning 8am, by this time she poo poo 3 times already, am quite happy! again she helped me to stimulate my breast and more colostrum comes out, also can latch 1/2 hour each side, and still not enough! Nurse just asked me to eat first..



I hope my milk flow will kick in too, now just colostrum, also doesn't mean i will have enough milk for her right? pray for the best!

me too, my weight was the best when i was feeding number 1 at 6mths. then as supply gets lesser, i get fatter..hahaha. when i finish feeding at 1 year, i was back to pre preg weight.



so this time, i am going personal trainer.

my fren went and saw visable results, of cos not instant lah. the fats all become muscle, fit fit one. but weight loss not alot but wear clothes look so much nicer.



as for slimming centres, they say the weight will bounce back once you stop, also see yr diet.



i left abt 3kg to lose to pre preg weight. BUT if i want the weight at when number 1 was 6mths, it will be 8kg!!

Ceres, mine was induced birth at KK but I'm not sure how they charge. I spent 1 night in delivery suite and 2 nights at Ward class A. Total bill including epi is $4k.

 
Vivi, which milk bottle u using? I m using pigeon, thought of changing teat see if my baby able to drink faster or not. If not, thought of changing to nuk bottle as the teat seems better.

Kat: I just called up they say induce also included in the package one unless i exceed the days. i.e. 3 days 2 night warded and like 8hrs free in delivery suit.

So she say if i induce spend 1 day in ward will later give birth left 2 day 1 night lor.

So u mention 4kplus should be correct. 2k+ medisave, 2k+ upfront cash.

 
Cheerymum- I'm using tommee tippee bottled n glass bottles using nuk teats. Boy prefer nuk but time taken to finish is e same

 
Jelly, you're not fat lah, when we had dim sum about a month ago, can't even tell you're preg till I see your bump. Or you were very skinny before you got preg?



My bb's been up sine 11am. Already fed her 2x. Still refused to sleep. Very cranky too, sigh.

 


babycoco: mine up from 7am until 1hr ago then finally Zzz after a bathe...mine boy also very cranky since yesterday...so tired now..just feel like toppling on my bed n Zzz all the way..



But i waiting for bath..going to wash my hair ltr..can't take it any more...1 week only wash once is super xing ku...
