(2010/07) July 2010 MTB

Hi Suntan

I am also starting my ML on 19 Jul...

so boring in the office.. I have nothing to do from now till my ML.. have clear all my work ... yawn......

waiting for the forum to be up since morning...

finally, forum is up. wonder what's wrong with it these days?

anyway, i'm still here [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] will be seeing gynae tmrw and decide on date to cut. definitely this week. i really have not many labour signs other than BH but baby has been very engaged and my cervix is soft since wk36 oredi - i'll be wk38 tmrw. it's a chore to come to work these days - so heavy. will ask gynae for MC before i deliver

brown rice

have been eating it since i found out that i've GD - yah, it does control my weight gain. now the more reason to continue taking it [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] i find that brown rice is more filling than white rice.

phy: Nopes not today cos gynae have impt major surgery today so she says she don't want to risk that she can't be around. So i will admit myself tmr @ 8am.

May: Mine was quite a big blob of red mucus.. hmm maybe like 2 50ct coins put together. From then on till even now , my discharge still tinged with red/pink .. but now dark brownish so i suspect its 'leftovers'.

Shann: Hard to say .. i only saw the mucus plug after yesterday's VE when doc said im 4cm dilated liao. She also attempted to stretch even further abit for me (ouch!). So i think that might be why the mucus plug came out. For past 2 weeks i been 3 cm dilated but plug still in tact.

Suntan: Ya i am quite confused with this. Some website say its same thing, some actually say its different. The book I read "what to expect during pregnancy", says it is the show and that labour normally will start within 24 hours or it can still be for weeks later... i didn't tell my gynae cos anyway tomorrow already going in liao! Just keep my there as clean as possible cos i scared baby kena infection even though waterbag haven break hehehe.

xbeanniex: recently i keep having this "thought" that i only found out baby is a boy during my oscar, what if come out is girl!

Xbeanniex

jaclyn, it's true, enjoy your last night with bb inside you. i miss having my bb inside my belly. miss her moving all over the place, because for those 9 months, she was really a part of me. of course, when i look at her now, it's a totally different feeling. when she's not keeping me up all night, that is, hahaha

beannie hahaha! me too. my workplace is too open

since forum was down, i was so free that i googled like crazy and chanced upon this amazing picture

surgery performed on a 20-wk old fetus in the US, back in 1999, to correct fetus' spina bifida problem. It involved performing a C-section, removing the uterus and placing it on the mother's belly. Amniotic fluid was withdrawn, the baby was maneuvered into a position where the back area is accessible, and a tiny incision was made into the uterus. At that point, specially made micro tools were used to pull flaps of skin over the spinal cord, and sutures smaller than a human hair were then used to close the flaps together. After that, the uterus was put back in place, and the incision is sewn up and the amniotic fluid replaced.

At the end of the procedure, just as the uterus was being placed back in the mother’s stomach, an amazing thing happened. A tiny arm thrust itself through the incision and grasped the surgeon’s finger! This account was according to the photographer. According to the surgeon, the fetus was anesthetized and not aware of what was going on – it was the surgeon pulling the fetus’ hand out of the uterus

Our bbs are big boy/girl and limited spaces in our waterbag.. so we tend to feel more rubbing movement often ... mayb our bb juz wan to turn to a comfortable place... think normal

I juz worried bb burst the waterbag when I am working... hahaha... scare all my colleagues ...

my GM standby towels in his car ... and tell me to call him should i feel uncomfy n needed to go hosp. he will drive me there and ask my hubby to go straight hosp can le...

sometimes i am thinking... where to find such nice GM that wear cargo pants n t-shirt to work... at times even worst... wear slipper!

Yvonne yeah, when i saw the pic, i was like "eewww" but when i read on, i cried. it's just so amazing, to think that our babies were that small 20 wks ago. and also, somce a teeny, weeny bean, measured in mm, our babies our now so big

cheese wah! your colleagues so well-prepared? they've experienced it before ah? hahaha! good lah, in case it really happens

phy but sometimes the natural ways dun work - that's what i read lah

beannie your GM is very nice. really care about his staff and so down-to-earth

Hi Mommies!

Minmin reporting.. Sorry to take so long to update my birth story as I am trying to cope with my new beginning. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

My Birth Story for baby Aiden, Emergency C-section on 1st July 2010, bb weighing at 3.310kg.

Abt 2.30pm - Felt slight leaking and found a little clear discharge stain on my cushion. Went for a bath and call my gynae to check with her and inform her that the discharged has stopped though. She asked me to admit to hospital and get ready to give birth.

Abt 3.30pm - Took a cab together with MIL to hospital and called hubby and asked him not to worry, maybe false alarm and I will call him again.

Abt 4pm - Was put on CTG, and I was only 1cm dilated, waterbag didnt burst or leak. Nurse inform Gynae and gynae asked to monitor me till she comes at 5pm. Told hubby to come immediately incase gynae wants me to make any decision.

5.30pm - Gynae came and check, contraction interval of 8mins, 1.5cm dilated. Gynae say lets get going and induce me with the drip and broke my waterbag. Hubby is still on the way.

5.35pm (just 5 mins after they induce me)

Gynae said that baby heardbeat suddenly dropped alot. Gynae checked and keep shaking her head. She said, we had to go for emergency c-sec now, cannot risk anymore coz bb heartbeat keep dropping. Hubby haven reach yet, called him and cried while telling him this coz I was in total shock. The whole situation was in chaos with 5-6 nurses running around becoz of me.

5.55pm - hubby reached and comforted me and I was pushed into the Operating Theatre at 6pm sharp.

6pm - Hubby was waiting outside the OT and baby was out in less than 15 minutes. Gynae explained that the umbilical cord was around the baby's neck, that explains why the baby hearbeat dropped each time when the baby moved downwards. So fortunately we made a quick decision else baby will be in danger.

suntan: my gynea ask me to have "Muthu's Curry" i oso blur... she explained that curry got herbs in it which helps to labour easier...

Cheese

Phy

I heard fr my da sao she had curry at her 38 wk and lose her blood mucus end up induce by her gynae....

ICA

ya ... they surprise us every wk by their movement and day by day seeing our tummy getting bigger... and they grow fr a little seed size to average of 2.6kg to 3.5kg

Xbeanniex,

Ya lor curry can help but I will vomit if I take curry now...

As of the other method, like what ICA said, may not work 100%.

Minmin,

Congras!!! Nice date 1st of July!

minmin: Min!! Thx for sharing. Wow seems like mani mommies ended up with emergency c-sect. Whatever the case, most impt is baby is in your arms now! Take care ok gal *hugs*

Aisha: Do you feel any crampy feelings? Stomachache like how? Want to go poo feeling? If not sure, just check with gynae better ok

min

congrats and am glad u n ur lit boy are now doing well

aisha

u hv 2 time ur contractions. hvg a stomach/diarrhea does not indicate contractions.

if you are really going into labour, u will hv v regular contractions on the bottom and not top of ur tummy. ur back will feel v achy as well. if ur contractions are coming in every 10min apart, u could be in mid-labour.

phy

i heard abt curry but i think most books/website recommends sex or nipple stimulation... keke
