oh.. i was given med to stop contraction.. but i didnt eat!! cause... cause... haha.. i hope she pops ma... hahahaha.. i very bad lei....... but but... haha.. i kan cheong liao ma....

 


babycoco: This time round, my contractions are abit painful. Top muscle will tighten and muscle below felt like menstrual cramp. Last time round, the contraction just feel like tightening of muscle nia. If it doesn't happen throughout the day or stop after awhile.. it should be BH.



Serene: Alamak.. u should have taken the pills ma.. Dun worry la.. if BB comes then come lo.. at least when BB is safely in your arms , u feel safer too.



Oh.. these few days I kept dreaming of me giving birth or had already given birth. Dunno is it a sign to tell me that labour is nearing.

 
Serene: My doc stop my ventolin since last week coz she said she will let nature take its own course since I was like 36 wks then.. but u more steady la.. doc give u med..but u never eat! maybe yr doc gave u ventolin to take coz he was away and dun want u to labour b4 he is back ba..:p

 
AK: After the doc stop your ventolin, do u still have contraction? Actually when u are on ventolin, do u still have contraction?

 
oh btw...i got one question to ask leh. For those who bought new sterilizers and warmers n milk bottles hor..have u open n test to see if they are in working condition? I'm wondering if i should open up the boxes now rather than after giving birth in case its not working or what and if also I can "practise" sterilising the milk bottles first! but sound so funny hor.. but i never used before ma..scare after i came back from hospital nobody help me with all the new gadgets.. or when I need the bottles but they are not ready and bb crying etc...aiyo am I thinking and worrying too much!?!?! kan cheong !

 
AK -- when i delivered #1 hor, the contraction (real) ones are muscle below my rib cage is pushing downwards.. machiam pushing the bb downwards.. missy no need to see what CTG.. she jus put her hand on my tummy, she will know if contraction took place and warn me about the pain..



that motion of the muscle movement is for bb to be pushed out lei.. u wanna try calling ur gynae and let her know how ur contraction is like?

Ann : Actually when on ventolin.. I got contractions..the real ones not BH leh. After I stopped ..so far so good.. but got BH

 
AK -- u can try.. i also try the pump.. haha.. then i ask hubby if wanna start to sterilise.. then he laugh and say.. by the time bb need to use it, i still have to sterilise once more what.. moreover i will be latching bb for first 6 mths.. also no need bottles.. i was like.... -__- kan cheong maaaaaa... haha...



i didnt take the med cause... i cant wait for her to come out.. i so selfish lor... haha.. but i feel that the pain is still bearable.. so i jus let it be lor.. the contractions gets the womb prepared ma... so jus let it be lor... keke

 
Serene: That is exactly what I am feeling lo. When I have the contraction, the top muscle like being push outward and become very tight. But also coupled with menstrual like cramp. I am seeing gynae in 2 days time. Dunno shld wait or not.



AK: Oh.. that's so weird lo. Hehe!!

 
California BB Hair & Body Wash: Anyone of you use this before? Do we need to rinse BB with plain water again after we bath them in water containing the wash?

 
Ann i think dun wait liao la.. why not u give a ring to her and let her know? cause hor, when u have contractions, u have to let gynae know.. if not u wont know if bb is alright.. sometimes hang on too long will cause distress to bb..

 
Serene: I follow your advise and called my gynae. He told my hubby to admit me to labour ward and commented that I might be more than 2cm dilated. Hai.. so off I go to labour ward again. I hoped I dun need to stay there long again.

 
ann -- good good.. better be safe.. bb's safety is more impt... moreover u are dilated liao.. once it hits 3cm, dilation can go very fast... jia you!

That will b gd for you to try all the gadgets first. Coz for sterilizer need to boil it once b4 the following use. You also need to teach your hb how to sterilise the bottles too.

Serene: is it true? dilated to 3cm then will b very fast? coz mine dilated to 3cm I still wait for 1 week then break water bag & waited 6 hours b4 deliver leh!!

 
Jacelyn -- this was what Dr ang told me when i delivered #1.. and true enuff.. 1-3cm was 4 hours.. once it reaches 3cm.. booms.. it jus keep going and going..and within an hour, i was fully dilated and ready to push

I think the process of dilation depend solely on the mummies body reaction.



Some may dilate fast, some slower.



For myself both as slow. Example i admit on Monday afternoon deliver the next day morning. So my dilation process is very very slow.



1st son water bag leak i can feel than check in hospital around 1plus noon deliver him next day 5am, 2nd son gynae says water bag not enough so kena induced tablet into the Vagina around noon time, gave birth him next day 8am. My process were dull and long plus boring lor!



Both sons with epidural cause gynae worry i dont have pain while contraction on going. She worried at 6cm when pain really comes i start to push out the bb. Play safe she asked me to put epidural.



Once epidural insert, i start to vomit within 20mintues and it last till few hours.. Than sleep for while waiting for full dilation and time is right gynae came and told me to push out the boys..



I think this 3rd BB sure kena pain hell cause he is different from the 2 boys experienced. So i standby sweets, warm massage oil and wet tissue in the labour beg so that if i vomit hubby can NURSE me through out the labour process.

 
Serene : but hor.. yr doc is away and u never take your ventolin..if bb really wants to come out, how? Do u know who will bethe backup doc or not?

jacelyn : actually i'm very lazy to try the gadgets leh.. Think i will ask my hubby to do it.. and get him to teach me instead! hehee.. until now i stil dunno how to use the breastpump! think when i'm in hospital then ask nurses show me ba..

 
AK: Which hospital r u in? Cos my friend who stayed at Mt A told me that no breastpump is allowed. U can only loan from them if u wanna use. Maybe u can check it out..

haha... good idea to get hb to try first. Bring along your breatpump to hospital. Normally the next day after you delivered there will be a lactation nurse come to you. Then you can ask her at that time.

ya, for breast pump, u have to use the hospital ones.. theirs very good.. keke.. for "industrial" use that kind.. efficient pumps..

 
Haha... definately lah. Hospital breastpump suction better. hehe... I know that Mt A can rent breastpump at $20/day.

When the lactation nurse come to you. You can ask 101 questions to her. The position, way to burp bb and waking bb.

I'm using hygia pump quite similar to the hospital pump.

I remember my roommate in Mt A got her own breastpump leh. The lactation nurse even teach her how to use. She also asked my hb to bring my breastpump to the hospital leh

Good morning ladies.



Thanks for all the encouragement & concern. Currently i am still in the labour ward.



Despite taking ventolin, my contraction was like 6 to 8mins apart. I am still 2cm dilated. No change.



Gynae gave me 2 options. One is to be put on drip & later on pills again & hope to delay delivery of BB till 36/37 wks like the first time round. Two is to let nature take its own course & deliver the BB. Though gynae recommended option 1 but he also did mention that the pills doesn't seem to work on me & i will be back to hospital soon.



After much discussion with hubby, we decided to choose option 2 since i am quite close to 36wks le. Although i told gynae i would like to go home & wait for the time to come but he say he can't let me go cos he need to monitor BB's heartbeat. I hope he change his mind later cos i really dun like hospital at all & i dunno when the time will come.



Currently, the nurse here still ask me to take my ventolin pills as per normal. See if can delay or stop the contraction or not. But frankly, the pills just don't work. Hai....

 
Ann, probably better to stay in the hospital although I can understand why you'd rather be at home. Good luck, keep us posted.

this is my drama labour story... on 18-Jul-09



9am: checked into Mt A. After having a wonderful mac breakfast with hubby.. keke..



changed and get ready. clear blowels. do admission. There were quite a no. of ppl delivering, so we were at waiting area (6 bedder room)



10am: my gynae came and break my waterbag. That was the most painful VE i ever done. I was 3cm dilated then.



10.15am: the nurse took 3 tubes of blood for cord blood banking. put me on drip. shortly after i can feel the contractions coming fast. 2 mins interval. trying to bear but after 15 mins i can't take it. decided to try for Pitocin (injection at thigh) thinking is still early stage.

10.45am: The nurse came and inject Pitocin. At the same time, was given epidual consent form to read. thinking might need to later.



The nurse was commenting i am reacting very well on the drip with min dosage. Usually every 30-60mins, they will need to increase the dosage.



Pitocin will take 15 mins to take effect.



11am - 12.35pm: Pitocin took effect. makes me feels so drowsy and pukey. but the contractions came more and more intense. then i got this poo feeling, called the nurse, told her i feel like pooing and wanted to take epi. the nurse checked and said no need to take epi liao, told my hubby to take our belongings and follow her. I was then pushed to labour ward. I was in daze and in pain. Then i know i already full dilated. I was force to use laughing gas as i am not in time for Epi. The contractions came full force, i was screaming in pain, grabbing my hubby's hand, pushing at the same time. The poo feeling is far too strong. I know have to wait for my gynae to rush here. But is too late, i keep pushing until i can feel my baby's head is just at my V area. Thank god, my gynae rush in. and final push..



my gal is out at 12.35pm.

 
Ann hope you rest well and try to remain calm.



I know how sucks to me in labour ward. But it is better to stay there when you having contraction and you can get extra attention from the medical team.



Safer for you and the BB..

CT: i know right! i can't wait alr even though initially i'd wanted my bbgirl to come out on my bday. right now since i'm past week 37, i feel like i want her out like anytime now. and people predicting that i've like 1-2 weeks more are just pissing me off. esp my MIL but then again she's been pissing me off since the day i got preggers - wasn't really happy for me and DH when we told her the news.

Today gonna be on MC cuz morning my left pelvic bone very pain but now not so pain but still taking leave to rest.



Still thinking should go KKH see the women's clinic doc or just wait till tmr see my gynae.. dilema. Any advice?

 
Cherry - Dont care about your MIL. Now time to enjoy every seconds of the moment you have with the BB inside you.



Why let other pull you down when you know the fruit of your love is strong inside you and she/he will be your pillar of life.

 
i'm having backache now. been having it since yesterday night actually. but i was cleaning up my place yesterday so not sure if that attributed to the backache. i told my boss that i'll be taking my ML this week. actually want to go off earlier today cos really feel uncomfy. advice?
