Wah.. seems like mummies now getting to know the gender of their babies liao. Hope to know my BB gender on the next appt so that can start sourcing things for BB.

babycoco: Ya lo.. very anxious and looking forward to the next scan.. mine is on 30th Jan. Hopefully by then can see BB gender.

xbeanniex: I bought it from the Singapore Motherhood forum: Bulk Purchase section. The links are as follows:

Ann, before conceiving, I have been going to this TCM physician who specialises in fertility for accupuncture. When I found myself pregnant, I went to him for pulse taking and he had also prescribed me chinese medicines to stabilise the pregnancy. It seemed to be very effective because my bb's heartbeat was seen even before hitting 6 weeks. This TCM is located in Clementi and the no. is 68723237. The clinic is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.

ecym,

thanks! u r reai prompt. *salute*!

RE: Bra Extension

dun ve to get from maternity boutiques cos they tend to mark up a fair bit. i learnt my lesson from #1 preggy. can actually get these bra extension from normal bra shops, just ask them if they sell extensions. some does. i got mine at northpoint for $1 per extension. reai worth it.

babycoco: Yup! I can’t wait to start feeling the bb kicks so at least I know it is safe…

So far I did not have the chance to hear my bb’s heartbeat yet, very sad about it. I asked the doc and she said that it is very difficult to hear etc but I think she is just lazy to do it for me…

I will be changing my gynae after my detailed scan next month.

Sweetkiss,

shouldn't b difficult to hear BB's heartbeat...If not comfortable with your current gynae, should change bah

sweetkiss : I was freak out on last monday by my GP and i got to rush over to see my gynea on the last min. and she assured me of bb's safety by letting me hear bb's heartbeat n dont know what she did (think she push my womb abit hard as i can feel the force n abit pain too) n she actually got bb to 'jump' to show me bb is actually moving at the same time...

then i was able to relax knowing bb was fine.

(when the moment i get to see my gynea, i haven talk only, my tears want to roll down, worrying bb's alive or not)

sweetkiss : ya, my gynae also had a hard time, she kept trying a few times. the first time i did the ultrasound (10w 5d), i heard the heartbeat right away, but after that, seems like always take a while before can hear the heartbeat. dunno how come.

phy: Yup, think I will change to private gynae soon. Previously I went to polyclinic to confirm my pregnancy and was referred to KKH. So all along I have been there as subsidized patient as they fixed appt for me up till Feb. I thought of going to all the appts before changing gynae.

xbeanniex: We shld teach ourselves not to worry too much! Not good for bb also… Don’t worry, all our babies will be safe and healthy!

babycoco: My doc never try at all… But I think it’s enough assurance when I can still see bb moving and heartbeat flickering during the scan. But don’t know why all the docs I see like to frown when they do the scanning, when I see their expression I also scared!

sweetkiss, xbeaniex : i think it's only normal that we worry, but you're right, we should teach ourselves not to worry too much. it's just that right now we can't feel the bb moving, when we can start feeling bb kicking, i'm sure we'll feel better.

hi ladies,

i'm a July mother-to-be, edd 27th July....this is my first child...need advise on where to buy maternity work bottoms (pants, skirts)....still can wear my tops but pants getting tight around the tummy! thanks [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/messages/2495852/3495036.gif]

Ladies, same here. My gynae appointments are always 3 weeks away and during the 3 waiting weeks, I can't help but worry sometimes - how I wish portable ultrascan machines are available for sale. But what I normally do since the beginning of my pregnancy is that I'll take my temperature 1st thing in the morning when I wake up. If temperature is high, I'll be more relieved beacuse it signifies that the pregnancy is doing well.

springleaf : ya, ya, i also wish we can have portable ultrasound machines, hahaha. my hb said he'll buy me one if available, so i don't worry everyday. hahahaha

springleaf,

How high must our temp be?

Think we shouldnt worry too much. Cos now most of us already reached the 12 weeks period, thus should be more or less stablised. Hee, my sis just gave birth. Tonight gg to Mt A to visit her and also to do a site reckee :p

Sun_tan,

For my 1st trimester, mine was mostly above 37 degrees. When I reached 2nd trimester, It became 36.8 - 36.9 degree celsius. I suppose as long as temperature is higher than 36.7 degrees when you just wake up it should be considered high enough.

phy : I did see that before. Forgotten which website le. I go find for you. But it is something like tube kind lei.. is that what you looking for?

Sweetkiss: From what you say, your gynae real lazy lei. Everytime I went, everytime my gynae also show me the heartbeat to assure me. And my gynae dun frown when he do the scan.. he will smile and when he listen to heartbeat.. he will even comment good and put his thumb up. This is sort of like an assurance to me that baby is growing just fine. Think you should change to another gynae soon before you worry unneccesarily.

Hi all

I'm new here, my EDD is 28 Jul.

Gynae : Dr KC Yeo

Hospital : TMC

Does yr doc ask you not to drink milk? is it necessary to drink the milk for mother? Got samples but i'm not a milk person.

congrats Phy and Crystal! Crystal, can see the baby girl so soon?? Thats great!

Sweetkiss: Heartbeat should be heard at every scan. Infact my gynae let me hear the heartbeat first to reassure me as sometimes the baby can be sleeping. So far, my gynae always smile and he's always v v enthusiastic when he scans. He's like a father figure so I really feel comfy with him. If you are not comfy with KKH arrangement, please change one that you like. You probably can sign a plan/package soon by the 18-20th week.

Ling (wateraine): my gynae told me I do not have to take the milk as the calcium pills etc are enough. In fact, he's worried i may put on too much weight if i take the milk. Anyway I have no intention of taking for the 2nd baby as I did not take for the first one too and he turns out fine. Also I am lactose intolerant so can't stand milk.

actually its normal to worry if baby is fine esp within tat 3-4 weeks waiting period but a few week/mth later we will be getting kicks from them! That would be the best assurance. heheh can't wait!

Ling, my gynae also told me not to drink milk and gave me calcium pills too. Reason because for ppl of chinese origin, there's a high percentage of us becoming lactose intolerant and will make the MS worse. I am not lactose intolerant but became intolerant recently due to pregnancy...yeah...i went against my gynae advice and tried milk once....had very very bad diarrhea coz my body just cannot take lactose now...so looks like 3 different gynaes (yours, minibean's and mine) gave the same advice...

sweetkiss : my gynea nvr shows me any sign of neg. look or words. she is very encouraging and give me advice of what to do n what not to do. And she also clear my doubts n worries for my bb. Her assurance of bb was not by words, is by action... showing me bb's heartbeat n movement.

If really need to change ... mummies here are seeing quite a handful of nice gyneas...

Minibean, vernie, I think the doc dun want me to gain weight. Actually, i was underweight before i become preggie. And i actually lost a little weight after the 1st month though i have been eating.

Is it normal to be hungry after every few hours? Had hunger pangs every few hours and it even kept me awake at night. Ate biscuits and bread until I become too heaty.

Had constipation and had to rely on Senna medicine to help.

Can drink fybogel?

ling : i used to be like you, always wake up in the middle of the night cos hungry. but i realise if i have enough for dinner, i won't wake up at night. maybe you're not eating enough for dinner?

ling: i also eat something before i go to bed, cream crackers or something...so i can usually sleep through the night....

for constipation, my gynae gave me duphalac to soften the stool...

Hi Ling, I had the same problem as u. No matter hw full I am b4 i slp, end up when i wake up in the middle of the night to pee, I am sure to be hungry. Every night I have no choice and drank milo. I was also underweight b4 I preggie. Lost 2 kg in the first trim. In fact my appetite become quite gd nw. But I still not gaining any weight. What abt u?

Re: Pre-natal yoga

I am planning to go for yoga, any suggestion from any mummy?

Hi Angel, the 2nd post was using another mummy's age...

u only add 1yr to ur age (current age) if ur bd is before the edd.

since ur bd is in feb n ur age is 34yrs, then for calculation it shld be 35yrs.

so urs shld be even+odd=boy.

hi jo_lyn, i'm thinking of signing up with como shambhala at forum. my office is at orchard, so quite convenient for me to walk over for the prenatal classes. you?

minibean,

yup. i m equally surprise too cos for my #1 i didnt get to know gender till abt 6-7mths & even then it wasnt a 100% certainity cos she keeps hiding her gender. so for #2 to know at 3rd mth, i m amazed.

Just done my scan yesterday NT = 1.8 CRL= 6cm at 12 weeks 2 days and it's a boy.... hubby slighty disappointed though he wants a gal ...

Did my check up yesterday. Just hit 12 weeks and BB is at 5.6cm.

Opt out of the down syndrome tests.. I was expecting some coercing from Dr Fong to go for it, but surprisingly, there was none. He jus accepted the decision.

I also have iron, calcium & fish oil from gynae. cannot take milk with iron two hours before n after. Wondering if can take cheese or not. Anyone know??

jo_lyn, same case here...i also lost 2kg in the first trimester due to lack of appetite...now appetite is much better but still not gaining much yet...my gynae said we should start to put on from 5th mth onwards at 0.5kg per week...so, i shall wait and see...

Babycoco: I am trying to find yoga classes ard North area. But seems that all classes are in town. Whne are you going to start? I am thinking to start after CNY. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Jo-lyn, i have gynae appt on jan 28th, if all ok, will start after that. but i'm dying to do yoga right now. i used to do yoga once a week (even during the 1st 10 weeks of my pregnancy cos didn't know i was pregnant). suddenly no yoga, my whole body aching. i know holland village also got prenatal yoga. is that too far for you?

sweetkiss:

u now still under subsidy patient?

Well, since it under subsidy, the gynae seeing u will be different everytime u went.

I remember for my 1st child, under subsidy also, if there is no scanning, i get to hear bb heartbeat.but when we can feel the bb kicking, there is less.

There was once, don know what happen, i felt chestpain, n I was admit to hospital. They strap me to CTG, but that I was 23 to 24 wks, so they want to monitor bb heartbeat, but then bb was too small to stay in one postiton, they had a hard time, trying to detect the bb heartbeat.

Of cos, since we r under subsidy, we can't compare to those fix gynae, since they paid a bit higher fee. I remember my friend told me, she went to TMC, had a fix gynae, she paying abt $48.00 per check up, (exclude taking any vit), where else I'm paying for $30 just for the routine check up.

babycoco, i also having my appt on 28 jan!! hahah.. So excited because by then shld be able to know baby gender too. Holland V is still far fr me. I staying ard AMK area. Will continue look out for yoga classes ard here if not got to travel so far [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

hi mommies. just came back fm gynae. i have polyps... and spent $700 removing it including an autosy on the polyps... silly, so expensive to have my #2... spent so much moola... but thank God bb okie...

jo_lyn, just realised your edd is 2 days after mine. ya, i'm also very anxious to know the sex of the bb. we all want a baby girl, but my hb kept dreaming it's a boy. already dreamt 2x. you should come to town, can do some shopping at the same time.

Jasmine: Yup I am still under subsidy… That’s why quite frustrated cos scanning and consultation is done by 2 different persons each time.

On my last checkup, I went for consultation after my scan and the doc was like “oh, so you had done your scan just now right? I guess I don’t need to make you lie on the bed and check your tummy”

KKH already made my appt till Feb for detailed scan, so I thought I’ll finish going for all the appts before I change to private since I can take package also.
