(2010/05) May 2010 mtb

i think its New clothes for d/c from hospital and 1st mth celebration.

any other days can wear hand me downs or new.. doesnt matter.

my mum bot 12 sets (6 sets 3-6mth, 6 sets newborn) from OG. She says Pigeon brand is good. Get those tops that is overlapped and tied at the sides coz for newborn u wun wanna let them wear tee shirts styled (hard to yank the tee when comes to neck/head part)

for buttoned tops are fine but the overlapping ones can protect the belly she says... (covered up)

very sianz.. my maid says wanna go home aft her contract ends... which is in May/June liddat.

Have to wait for hubby reservice end then go find new maid liao (hopefully before CNY)

Hon> That shop in bugis is situated next to the small road one right? They selling wholesale? I saw that their items are sold in big pack but never went to ask cos there was so many people there. I happen to walk pass the shop last Saturday when I was there. I was telling HB that I must go let everyone in forum know, but, my forgetfulness got over me till you mention it!

anlin> Then what about during the stay in hospital? Does the hospital provide the clothes for bb or we got to bring our own set as well?

Chloie

They have some oversized bb clothes in the hospitals, so don't worry. Just bring a set for d/c can liao.

Chloie, i aware TMC provide free 1packof diaper and clothing for baby. If they open up another new pack of diaper will charge us.

As for Mt A i not sure. i will check with the child birth instructor for my Feb weekday class in Mt A. And will let you know.

Thanks for the reminder, i also forget about this.

anlin,

i just registered for the stemcord seminar. so see ya there!

rantingbaby,

im ok with the location. anyway likely taking a cab also.. :p

Mrs Teo,

yr maid gg back then can get a new maid who is experienced w bb. can help you take care..

baby clothes:

i will be taking some hand downs from my fren.. then c wat else is short then just buy a few cos bb outgrow v fast. more concern abt the neccessities.. shd be getting them by end of 2nd tri.. then 3rd tri can relax no need to do last min frantic shopping.

Hey Hon,

Do you know whats the shop name? I work at bugis area, so i can go peek in during lunchtime.

And about kaki bukit- bad idea. The prices there have gone up. They are actually more ex than retail outlet nowadays. My cousin who frequents there to get gifts for baby showers she attends also had the same to say. I bought my baby cot on sale there. Later I realized Ikea sold the same cot for lower price. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

Hey ladies, how was yoga? Sounds like it was really good. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] I havent slept well past 2 days. bec my baby has been kicking alot that it tickles. and also getting alot of bad dreams. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

And I really feel that better buy bb stuff now or soon before the immobility kicks in...

Chillimum,

be sure to register for 2 session. see you there.

Rantingbaby,

with your confirmation, we don't have to worry for clothing in hospital stay. For the location, i follow the flowsss , Singapore is just a small island!!No worry

KTSC > I also opt to to store my no2's cordblood. I am not so sure about the referral for this coming one but I referred a friend as referral cos was 1st timer at my previous sign up.

This proposal that I got was me as 2nd timer and someone for 1st sign up. Was orignally to sign up together with a friend but her hubby went ahead to sign up for their baby without her acknowledgement. A long story. Sighz. Thus I reckon my proposal may not be as good as the one you have. We could both refer each other as referral ($50 is confirmed I think).

Having said that, I can share with you this proposal my agent sent to me. Just bearing in mind that I only entitle extra $50 discount on my package cos im repeated customer to Cordlife.

Or you may Pm so that I can forward you this proposal. Which plan are you considering?

We could discuss whichever deal is good for us if sign up with Cordlife together. Cheers.

Agreed with rantingbaby that it's best not to store just one child's cordblood as every individual is different.

Anne

I was thinking about your question about what to buy. Clothes and toys can always buy later. But things like baby cot, etc, big items that need assembling should get earlier.

We already assembled the the playpen and move the furniture around the house about a month or two leading to the EDD.

Hey Anne,

2 cents from what I have prep-ed. The check list that you have, rank them according to priority. Like what rantingbaby said, clothes and toys can buy later. Just one set for d/c and the first week after d/c (just in case suddenly no gifts come by!).

The baby furniture best to buy when u still have stamina to shop (I had trouble shopping at M'sia Giant for more than 45 mins). And also, not wise to send hubby to buy- we might not agree with their taste.

Apart from that, the items that '90%-confirm-wouldnt-get-as-gifts', preferred to buy earlier. Like the cotton wool, pails for baby laundry. Slip-free mat.. etc.

For the rest, my plan is to get my MIL to do the shopping! Since my baby is her only son's first grandchild (Heheh!) You know this Indian mentality towards the son's child. So let them do the work!

But for the breastfeeding essentials.. I am totally lost as to what to buy. Bec I cant seem to understand what is for what.

Anlin, abt the stemcord seminar, do they have it on regular intervals?- My hubby is working on that day.. so need to go another day..

Hi smak, chloie and pinnky, i have also just signed up for the weekend classes at mt A! Cya on 5th Mar for the first class! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Chloie - I have not been there personally. But what I was told is that it is directly opps to the temple. They sells cheap baby clothes.

A R - Don't have the name of the shop coz my fren lost her hp recently. But its just along that stretch of shop. So u can take a look. Try to go early coz my fren told me she went there on weekday after 7pm and it is close already.

As for kaki bukit... Not sure that it turn so bad now. Cause I have fren who bought from there recently and still find it cheaper than outside. So... But can compare price.. =P

For baby toiletries, can go to this address Blk 34, #03-132 Upper Cross Street Shopname : Cheong Choo Store

I have not been to these places yet. But it was highly recommended by a few fren. So if ur interested, can check it out. =)

Rantingbaby thanks for the blog webby. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] Will go home and book mark the page. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Hon thanks for the shop description. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] Maybe tmr will go by, bec today lunched in. :p

Anlin its in mandarin.. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif] Am Indian yaar. My proficiency in Mandarin is limited to identifying the vulgarities (for protection against defamation reasons. heheh)

Maybe I'll go with my sis or wait for the Mother& Baby fair in March and see if they have those talks. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

AR and rantingbaby> thanks for sharing the info. we may consider getting all the bulky items soon. need to get chest of drawers to keep baby items and etc.i have no worries abt baby clothes, but, concern abt tgs like breast pump, milk bottles, bath essentials and other minor items...

Anne Raj,

can also go toa payoh's togoyo to get those plastic drawers. they are lighter to push in / pull out. (good if u need to take something while carrying bb)

Ya AR, i guess everyone's busy at work. I was till awhile ago, just came to check on my emails and had a peek at the thread to see wats gng on.... [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Hi mummies

Just woke up cos last night slept quite late.

I am going for the Stemcord seminar (1st Session). Anyone going as well?

AR, no problems. I remember blogging about it previously, so just copy & paste link here.

Anne Raj, we got the toyogo kind for #1, now daddy looking for proper chest of drawers that will look great with the other furniture in the house after CNY. *Argh*

But Mrs teo is right, the toyogo kind is really light. But make sure you get those with wider or deeper drawers, cos sometimes too much children's clothes = difficult to close. Cos the drawers are bursting open.

Rantingbaby... im intending to get the furniture from ikea.. the trofast quite nice.. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

maggie

I still have not gone around looking for a suitable one... Maybe just go IKEA... but I don't have car now to drive down... Hubby comes home = he takes the car...

Rantingbaby, I am very keen to go for first session too. My hubby is working till 5pm that day and no buddy to tag alone with me.. u going alone or with your hubby?

ranthingbaby/maggie, i was thinking of some furnitures from Ikea too...probably will go in Mar. Dont intend to get too early.

I couldnt sleep last night, felt tighness from my belly button stretching to lower adomen, anyone experience that?i think its stretching...baby has been quite yesday after three days of thumping and kicking ard.hope he is fine. Look at me, complaining when kicking and worried when not so active... hiayo...dont know wats happening to me...also cant really go poo much lately, hope not constipated.. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

Anne,

i felt tighness from my belly sides during 1st trimester. After applied moisturiser feel better.

Everyday i will at least apply my belly area (including near belly button).

Hello Mrs Teo

Now then I can view the posts in thread. Yesterday and this morning the 2010 MTBs threads are all blank. Reading thru the earlier posts. Kekekeke....now then saw you mention cannot join for dinner cos hubby on reservist. Ya, I dread too when mine went on his reservist. Itz a headache of changing maid. I have a maid agent who is quite good in choosing maids for clients. My maid has been taking care of my 3 years plus child till now. So far ok. If u need the maid agent contact, do let me know.

Regarding the enquiry for the nessessity of storing the 2nd child's cord blood, I personally have this doubt too. I then get some consultation from the CordLife's service officer, she mention (TOUCH WOOD la) that for some illnesses, the cordblood of the 1st child might not be enuff for the emergency of the silbings and parents. Hence to play safe, I stored the 2nd BB's cordblood too.

And ya not forgetting to mention, I also slept quite well after the yoga session. But then hor feel muscle strain at the buttock and thigh area. Heeeeee.....tink most probably due to long absence of exercise and stretching :p

I agree with the choice of New clothes for d/c from hospital and 1st mth celebration.

For any other days can wear hand me downs or some cheap new ones. I would also be getting those tops that is overlapped and tied at the sides or button type coz hard to yank the tee when comes to neck/head part (speaking from experience of the 1st child)

Have just started to buy some socks and 2 new sets of clothes for D/C and "Man Yue" celebration (^_^)

Hi SK, I have pm you my email address and contact for discussions about the CordLife's continual client proposal and referral program.

Hi Anlin, saw your posts and interest in cord blood banking. I had signed up the storage of my 1st child's cordblood during such semiar 3 years ago too. You can also consider attend the seminar for CordLife and make comparisons among the 2 companies.

Below is the link for seminar of CordLife. FYI, they often have such seminars too.

P/S: I'm not sales respresentative from CordLife or getting any benefit for making this suggestion. Just wan to let u all MTBs have more choices and info.

JSP, thanks for the congrats for passing the glucose level : ) I'm very relieved as my dad and his siblings have had diabietics, so I'm actualli on the high risk side.

ktsc,

thanks!! wow you today most active in the thread. hahah.. sms me the miad agency k.

Hi anlin, i didnt have ts sort of stretching effect at all. I have been using stretch creams since the start of 20 weeks, so far no pain, only expereince it last night. i hope it was just cos of stretching...[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]
