Btw, after u took the EBM fr fridge &amp; warm it for bb to drink but if bb only drink part of it, how long u can let bb drink the remaining ? Very wasted to throw EBM away....;p

Super tire.. had the full month celebration this afternoon.. then cleared up... settled bb.. then the 2kids.. let them sleep early cos they didn't have their nap.. and tml first day of school.. so now.. is my free time..

mushloom.. gam sia.. will reserve them for you... when your confinement end huh?
 
Alicia/mstan888: Thaw the EBM in the fridge. Once the EBM is thawed (turns to liquid), pour out the quantity you want and heat it up for feeding. The remaining put it back in the fridge for the next feed but must be consumed within 24 hours.

yunzz: If EBM is in fridge, I use very warm water to heat up (but not hot hot) and I want to stress again that u have to keep turning the bottle to prevent hot spots

If EBM is from freezer, it is very hard to thaw leh, especially if you store in glass bottles. Milk bags easier to thaw, So best is to thaw the EBM in fridge 1 day before and feed the milk in 24 hours.

augleo, am alternating btw manual n electric pump. Find manual can express more n better so still use it few times a day. Previously when wking am using manual n can express up to 400ml aft 5hrs. Juz that hand aching. Now aft latching if express wif manual can get abt 40 to 80ml. At times can even get abv 100ml if hands not aching n continue expressing. I massage my breast while expressing n supply improve aft taking more fluid n express aft latching.

I usually put my EBM in fridge so must consume within 48hrs, right ?
However, e.g.
- if I take out 100ml fr fridge &amp; pour out 60ml into bttle to heat up for bb to drink.
- Put back the remaining 40ml back to fridge for feed within 24hrs.
- after warming the 60ml to feed bb but if bb only drink like 40ml out of 60ml, do I hv to pour away the remaining 20ml or I can still warm up later the remaining 20ml for later feed in abt 2-3hrs ?
How not to waste the 20ml of EBM ?

Calamari, watz hot spots? So wat if got hot spots?

Mstan8888, I usually keep the remaining 20ml warm so if he needs it, then give him.. But after 3 hrs if he dun want, then I'll throw away.. Very wasteful indeed.. Any better suggestions anyone?
 
me also did my gal's full mth celebration today, had 2 sessions... super tired, now pumping... jus finished unwrapping the gifts n calculating the ang baos..
 
mstan888: yes, 48 hours if its in the fridge after expressing. 24 hours if its thawed from freezer.

The remaining 20ml can be reheated within 1 hour in Sg weather. If not, got to throw away liao. Cannot leave for 2-3 hours. Spoil leh, not fresh liao.
 
cayenne: hot spots is like certain parts of the milk are hotter than the rest. So must turn bottle to even out the heat. If not some parts too hot, wait burn during feed.

As for remaining 20ml, no other way if bb dont want to finish. Have to throw after leaving in the open for 1 hour.
 
mstan, better to throw n waste rather than hv upset tummy. Bb wasting my milk recently also. Mummies, juz to check how much are ur babies drinking at 1mth?
 
Hemmie, Leen, my baby has the same vomiting/spitting milk problem too. Very often, she also regurgitates 'tow huay' when burped. My no. 1 doesn't have this problem leh. Leen, do you have the same problem with your no. 1? How long did it take for problem to go away?

1) if difference between the feeding time and expressed time < 1 hour, can bring the freshly expressed ebm n feed..no warming required
2) if going out for more than 2 hrs, use ice brick for the cooler bag.

Leen, do you have a maid? I'm thinking of changing my maid cos after 5 months, my gal still doesn't like her. But don't know if I can cope with 2 kids at home too. :p

i also think my baby cries for the milk for nursing needs rather than hunger, esp at night.
But since I latch most of the time, how do i know how much my baby is really drinking?
 
valkyriegal: if u choose to latch, by right you should not worry about about the numbers. As long as bb has sufficient wet diapers and poos 3 to 8 times a day, means he has enough

sigh, I seriously think my left breast has very little lobules.. After so long, it's still yielding less than 35ml after each pump.. Poor right breast gotta work much harder to compensate for the left breast..
 
Ainsley - u Breastfeeding?? My MIL told mi not to eat seafoood except fish leh.... haizzz poor mi but i go eat prawn without she knowing hahaaa... she say what eat seafood when bf will cause bb skin allergy dun knw hw true then so far haven eat those crabs ect... wah u eat oysters mi drooling liao.......
 
pauline, my no 1 hv it very badly. Only aft 1yr then it improved. Hope no 2 wld be faster. Some improve aft 3 to 4 mths. The tau huey type is digested milk. If watery type is undigested milk. Maid, yes. Recently got a new one but going to change. Nobody likes her. She is super rough till no 1 so afraid of her. Dun even dare to let her carry no 2. Then she also not in her right mind we felt due to her actions. Even my parents said so. So worried to let her touch the kids. Now only do housewk but super stubborn n spoil so many of my things n even badly scratch my parquet flooring. Faint n sad.

i think can eat seafd during bfing but i am avoiding chili, chocolate (caffine food n drinks). my mum say no seafood cos scare that my wound will be itchy but i secretly ate a few pieces of sotong at the buffet. keke

I realise my recently my right breast milk flow had slow down during expressing.. Last time ok leh.. Now gotta massage to make the flow better. Why is it so? Block ducts?
 
cayenne, i also take lots of chili. Am a chili person. In fact now on confinement also take chili padi. Avoid chili cos some bb may not like it n may cause bloating for bb. So far hv done this for no 1 n 2 n both r ok. Try out a bit 1st if u r worried.
 
today is day 7, yet i can still feel the stitches down there (the thread hasnt dissolved) &amp; the wound still hurts &amp; feels raw.

Cayenne, I particularly asked abt raw food like oysters n sashimi. He said it's ok. Even a cup or 2 of coffee or tea is oso ok. He said all in moderation lor.
As for spicy food n those ginger, depends if ur bb is fussy kind or nt. Cos may change the milk. Try abit if u r worried..

ling lee, for my no.1 i survive on painkillers for 3 weeks. its always a struggle to sit down. worst to past motion. But this time, pain went after 1 week. Think it's my post natal massage that help. the auntie skill really good, rub all the pain away

i haf been eating sashimi throughout pregnancy &amp; once 2 days ago..keke...cannot deprive myself...started coffee like 3 cups a day...those 3 in 1 ones...cos haf to cut down on bubble tea since its cold...

so am alternating between longan tea &amp; coffee....despite my #1 &amp; #2 being jaundiced...i continue eating ginger...#3 didn't have to be warded for jaundice...so happy!

think everything in moderation is fine..
 
Actually bf can eat anything.. But some food will prone to cause colic in bbies.. So I wld avoid esp during 1st few mths..

When bbies r older, then can heck liao. :p
