Let my boy use tommee tippee sippy cup today. Not successful too.. he knows how to hold and put the sprout in his mouth but dunno how to suck the water out. Think he got confused! And soon got angry with the cup.

Went on a shopping spree for puree stuff and made a week's worth of sweet potato puree just now...it was sooooo fun!!

One question: how many times do you guys feed your babies purees? Once or twice a day? mix with cereal or on its own?
While i was away in Msia, my mum have been giving her 'mashed sweet potato' on its own, once a day during lunch.....was wondering whether i should give her solid dinner as well...

michelle I want to get the caps from you...but i just took a look at my bottles, some are short and fat, some are thin and tall...hope the cap fits! Am using clingfilm and ontop of it, aluminium foil to seal it now, as i dont have any caps...when's best to get it from you?

Rach, how much are the huggies swim diapers? I can't find in NTUC. I was thinking if it will be cheaper to get the reuseable ones.

Swim diapers
Thanks Rach. I could not find it at Carrefour and tried finding it at a few NTUC but there was none. Hmmm will try at Kiddy Place then. How much did u pay for a pack?

Puree
I have tried brown rice cereal and avocado. She loves avocado and always will ask for more. Today I prepared carrots for her but she gave me a weird look when it fed her. Hahaha I find it amazing that she likes avocado but not carrots which are sweet. Will try feeding her carrots again.

How do you all feed your babies cereal n carrots? Mix them or give separately?

Purée
my bb seems to love cereal and avocado. She will always ask for more when I am feeding avocado. Today I prepared carrots for her but she just thrust the food out when I feed her.

Just wondering when it was mentioned that your are feeding cereal and carrots, do you feed two different things at the same time? (after trying one) or always separately?

Paige,
So glad that you are enjoying making puree for your darling girl. Keep it up and you will find more fun! You should try it also, it's very nice (I like it so I happily finish off whatever my girl can't finish :))

You can surely give solid to your girl in the evening if you want to. But if you are starting a new type of food/puree, better do it in the morning/afternoon, so that if there is any allergy reaction to it, you would be able to find out. Not recommend to introduce new food at night.

When you return to work, you can ask the infant care to give your girl cereal for morning and/or afternoon, and when you pick her up and arrive home, give her one feed of (frozen) puree. That way, she gets the goodness from both cereal and puree.

Better not to add with cereal, if she is willing to take the puree on its own. Reason being that one of the aims to introduce puree is so that baby gets to try food of different taste, and hope they won't turn out to be fussy eater later.

My girl doesn't like puree/cereal as much as my #1. And also because I am not as devoted to making puree as I was for my #1, and plus that we always went out during weekends so not enough time for my girl. Our fault. But we continue to give her cereal/puree, and hope soon she will like eating. She likes the teething biscuit though, but it's VERY messy.

Happy puree-ing, everyone!

Any mommies here converted from working full-time to part-time or SAHM? I am having such a dilmena thinking about it, and don't know what to do...

do they actually sell freshly made purees that we can feed baby there in the cafe at petit bowl? i think its a great idea for a gathering since most of our sept babies are approaching half yrs old or already half yrs old.
happy.gif
but is petite bowl too cramp? heard its a very small place! shd we hold gathering somewhere else more spacious?

jolimilk
for myself...i can honestly tell u being a SAHM is not easy. i think many converted SAHM will agree with me esp those with hbs like mine that often travel. we face our baby 24/7! :p sometimes it does get quite crazy, especially if baby is cranky and we're tired and sleep deprived. my choice to be a SAHM is very much dependent on 1)i really want to see my baby grow up and care for her personally, even though there are crazy 'wanna pull my hair out days'. i'm not young anymore and this is my first child and could very well be the only child. she's growing up so fast, so i don't want to miss anything! 2)our finances allow me to be a SAHM without compromising on anything. i think at the end of the day, you have to weigh out everything and judge for yourself what you think is best and the opportunity cost. don't be too stress over it ya!

jul
sam's looking good! so cute topless. by the way, sippy cup is a bit too soon rite? first they must be able to aim right. i can imagine if i gave my girl a sippy cup, she would be pouring and splashing water everywhere! think sippy cups more for 10 mths onwards at least?

oh, btw, wanted to ask your feedback...is the munchkin food processor any good? convenient to use n clean or not? can it really puree till fine fine? what have u tried pureeing in it before?

mummies
i noticed that the carrot puree i made leaves a yellowish stain on my storage cups and cannot be washed off! how to get rid of the stain ah?? help?
sad.gif
my girl's romper got some stains too...also can't come out!

KiKi, there should be ample space for us ba... maybe see how many ppl there is loh.. they will heat up the frozen purees for us loh...

Melissa, so means u will have to avoid dairy products?

Michelle one question,....can the caps be sterilised? will it go out of shape?

Jen, Kam Thanks for info on feeding.
Kam that's lots of info, thanks! really appreciate it..
Ermm, i made the puree by adding freshly expressed BM to it...so, dont really fancy finishing off her leftovers...anyway, she is a big eater, no leftovers so far :p
Thanks for encouragement, its true that it is really fun pureeing

Hi,

Is any mummy feeding Similac? I have a 400g Step 2 to let go or exchange for Enfa Pro A+, because my girl feeds better on Enfa. Can meet at Lavender MRT, Clementi MRT, West Coast, Pasir Panjang, or Bukit Panjang. Pls PM me if interested.

jenn> okie. will email u tonite. hope i remember

paige> yup. can sterilise. wun go out of shape. very solid material.

Feeding solid while on holiday>

mummies, I'm gg hols in June, when Rayanne is 9mos.
How can I feed her solids huh?

Bring cereal n feed at restaurants??
Baby jars??
Can't bring frozen puree along rite?

Any suggestion huh?? Den I see how many baby jars to order or not order...

kiki,
Carrot stain is very difficult to get rid of, either on the container or on clothes. So far I have not found a way to. If you microwave or put hot puree in the container, the stain is even more persistence. Maybe you dedicate a few containers just for carrot. And you close one eye lor.

Paige,
You are welcome.

Rach,
Cereal and baby jars are suitable for travelling. Or if it's a short holiday and you don't want too much hassle, just give her milk lor. 9 months baby can do well without solid for a few days.

kam,
but the stain is there, its ok to reuse? make me feel like the container is dirty. i tried to wash and wash like 3x over but still there! yes, i had to reheat the frozen puree mah... oh, u mean it'll make the stain worse? but if not, how to reheat frozen carrot purees?! i guess i just close one eye lor!

Kam>
oh.. We'll be away for 5full days.. Will she reject solids after that? Latching thruout is definitely the easiest way for me but dun want to short change her leh..

I saw mag mag step 2 at the ntuc but I think got bp spree selling only 6.50 don't know wan to buy from her or not the diff so large 50% cheaper

Rach
Bring bottle puree and cereal to feed when u're in restaurant. Latch in the morning, night and when in car, bus or whenever convenient lah.

Is it never gonna be the same again?!? OMG!! Now it really smells like poo!

itsy - yah.. just mix water... like Frisocrem or the Cerelac rice cereal, the blue tin one has milk contents in it.. so no need add milk..
happy.gif
Just mix water

steph
i thought all cereals are instant?

milkyway
what r u feeding now? happybellies? i think for all cereals, u can don't add milk if u don't want to. add water also ok, or add puree. but of coz with milk or puree, it taste better. my girl definately likes with milk or puree.

itsy
does your boy puree poo poo have different colours everytime u try something new? my girl's poo dark green when had bananas, then when fed with carrots, poo poo was almost bright brownish yellow. :p quite drastic!

milkyway, only those cereal with milk content then u no need add milk loh.. there are many others that does not contain milk one..
happy.gif

KiKi, I meant those "instant" cereals that already have milk in already

kiki,
Some sippy cup have a locking system. Water will flow when bb suck. Mag mag's use the Y teats, the White color teats and straw also have the preventing function. I using it for my son.

connie
