For me, I pump in office 3.5hrly. Each time only 200ml and need 45mins to pump leh.

Hello mummies... guessed most mummies are returning to the workforce very soon... actually i am supposed to start work in early january too but due to some problems, i have to reject the job opportunity. On the good side is, i already gotten my keys... i am so happy that i am going to shift out in march... no need to see hear listen to rubbish... hahahaha... bad side is i gonna be super duper busier as compared to now lah.. hahahaa.. cos i have to do housework liao.. i cannot imagine myself having to do housework, look after baby, prepare school stuff, go to work, pump milk.... omg! Seemed interesting lah but i am so scared i cannot cope lor... now i am already so busy and tired... i think i am getting old liao! >.<

My boy machiam very hungry leh... few nights he drank for 40-80mins in total.. really drinking la... then 4 hours later he wake up and drink again leh.... initially i just pat pat him make him sleep back but he kept flipping his hands on my face leh....... till i latch him 15mins.. then he sleep again.... -.-"

Did you try massaging your bb's stomach? Gently massage with your palm clockwise, will help bb to poo poo.

itsy - So similar with my boy lor. I also tried to pat him... but it's really useless.. cos i think he's really HUNGRY!!!!! I'm still feeding on demand lor... i have no idea the amount of milk he drinks each time too!

Just out of curiosity hor, are you using wide-neck bottles?
Cos I realise with Kee, he won't take standard neck bottles, but he's more bearable towards the Pigeon wide-neck. I think the size feels more similar to the breast?
Also, maybe it's the size of the teat hole? If your BM flows fast & furious from your boobs, the bottle sure cannot fight mah!
(By the way, paiseh that day you came over I was still sleeping. Wkends are my time to sleep in late! Hurhur.)

Ian was ok initially using Pigeon wide-neck bottle, but after a few weeks he rejected. I was using the right teats for his age leh.. maybe i should try using a bigger one. Cos hahaha you're right! My flow is fast and furious!

LOL okok... maybe my body is 'old' lah... really mah.. i need to sleep a total of at least 8hours to feel fresh or else i really like humpty dumpty at night time during night feeds! YOur kids all sleep earlier than mine... wake up later than mine... -.-" middle of night when feed and change diaper... i am like a blind cow changing baby loh... my eyes cannot open one lor... Your K damn cute loh.... feel like pinch pinch! hahahaa... my sumo will have massive shit at least once a day... once in the noon once in the evening... really is massive shit lor!

i think u shld ask rather daily how much can u pump rather per pump how much u pump leh.
i have test for one week, i totally pump & bottle for one week. i notice per day i only can pump 1.5litres.. and its does not depend on how often u pump...
example. i can pump 5hrly or 3hrly , end up total pump per day is still 1.5litres..
am i right to say tat. or maybe i am wrong to think tat way..

Josh is generally quite independent, just need help with showering, preparing his food, and adult stuff like that. Otherwise he's quite happy to self-entertain for a few hrs everyday.
He needs his "me time" one lor.
Babies don't usually follow "by the book" one lah. Even my #1 and #2 also have very different developmental patterns. If Ian needs faster flow, then you should up the size lor. Maybe even L, if that is more similar to your BM flow. No hard and fast rule one lah.

Josh also gave me the same worry. But it was my MIL who assured me that my Hubs also slept ALL THE TIME until he was almost 2 yrs old! Some kids just more sleepy/lazy than others.
Then true enough, when Josh was turning 2, he suddenly just don't sleep so much anymore. But he still naps 3-4 hrs everyday, instead of the common 2 hours.
Generally as long as your bb is happy and responsive when he is awake, then everything is fine!

I have a question about pigeon teats.
There's S, M, L and Y. I guess S, M, L is self explanatory. S being smallest hole so slow flow whereas L is the biggest hole so fastest flow. But what about Y. how does it compare with the other 3. The only thing I note is Y says leak proof but the rest don't. Sothe rest are not leak proof?

last year my MIL helped to look after #1 when i work... in the beginning of this month, i sent #1 to childcare centre, but she had high fever for 1 week, mainly due to flu bugs from my hb. then our parents comment that we send her to childcare too early, so now my MIL looks after her again and she stays with MIL during weekdays. then my mum comes to my house to look after #2.
i can still recall how tiring i was in the beginning of this month, when i started work after maternity leave, gotta send #1 to childcare centre... mad rush in the morning... looking after both kids after work. with MIL's help in looking after #1 now, i'm less stressed.

both of my boys do all their immunizations and checkups at the PD. i've only bought #1 to the polyclinic twice before for jaundice checks ... and somehow my impression about the polyclinics are that they employ a lot of foreign doctors (the ones i saw are fom hong kong and from myanmar) and they don't impress me with their pediatric knowledge. so i'll happily fork out the extra cash and get my boys to go to the PD at the hospital instead. at least i can comfort myself that i'm paying subsidized PD rates.

so #1 is withdrawn completely from the school? or she's going back after she gets well? you have to psycho yourself (and your MIL and family members) that <u>all</u> children will fall sick when they start childcare. it's only a question of how long and how sick. have to just grit your teeth and let them go through it if you've decided upon the childcare route. no use going through it halfway, let your girl suffer then next time enroll her for school again she have to suffer the initial get sick cycle all over again. then she have to go through it twice.

7.2kg is a very good weight. mine's only 6.5kg at his 4th month assessment yesterday.

wah, you sat there and observed him for a 24 hour cycle? i just agar agar my boy's sleeping and drinking time. if rub eyes, i will help him get to sleep. if cry even after i've changed him, then i will offer him milk. i don't even know how many hours he sleeps a day actually.

so #1 is withdrawn completely from the school? or she's going back after she gets well? you have to psycho yourself (and your MIL and family members) that <u>all</u> children will fall sick when they start childcare. it's only a question of how long and how sick. have to just grit your teeth and let them go through it if you've decided upon the childcare route. no use going through it halfway, let your girl suffer then next time enroll her for school again she have to suffer the initial get sick cycle all over again. then she have to go through it twice.

Now with longer sleeping hours at night, they are drinking one feed less. When they were new borns, it used to be 7-8 times a day. Then now only about 5-6 times. Sometimes, they can drink only 400ml in a day.
Mummies whose babies are sleeping through the night, what time is their last feed and first feed? Mine used to be able to drink a lot when dream feeding but recently, they also drink less and most times, will drink till wake up and throw tantrum. I am thinking of doing away with the last feed which is also dream feed (usually around 12am) because I find that it disrupts their sleep. Howevere, as it is, they are already drinking so little during the day, if I cut down one feed, how are they going to put on weight?

i do tat becos my son nvr sleep thru the nite one lor.. so worry his total hrs sleep per day.

My boy does look big, but he just looks like a slim older baby lor. Not chubby at all. Especially if compare to Josh when he was this age, Keegan is far far behind!!
Keegan is only having 3-4 milk feeds a day only. Each time ard 150ml. It's probably the reason why he's not been putting on weight or growing, still happily fitting into M size Pampers, and strangely, the diapers seem to be getting bigger lor!
Hopefully his food intake will help him grow lah, but I seriously doubt it.
Don't think you should be too worried about weight gain or not. After all, as long as your babies have doubled their birth weight, and developmentally on track, nothing much can go wrong.
Some babies like milk, some like food, and some just have better appetite than others. Some I know don't like milk, nor food, and just like candies. They all grow up fine anyway.

my #1 oso on milk strike when she is around 3months old.. and she only take in more milk around 6months old.. and i understand how you feel... drink little and worry they never grow etc.. and even my pd ask me to spoon feed her, cup feeding, syringe feeding and i done it all. but she just refused to drink.. so i just let it be. as long as she is not dehydrate, i'm ok. dun stress urself... my ger have been abt 25 or only 10 pecentile growth haha and till now she still skinny and small size. But the main thing is she is happy, healthy, active. Thats the most impt thing!

Milk strike? What you mean by milk strike? Mine at newborn feeds about 9-10 times in every 24 hours, 2-3hourly. Then now 4months old liao... drinking at about 3-4hourly in day/4-5hourly in night...sometimes feed about 6-7 times in every 24 hours. Each night feed can last from 40-80mins and it's me who break the latch cos i'm sooooo sleepy already! >.< I am wondering if my milk not full for him or what lor.... really no idea!

I assume my sumo is of average weight so i never think of supplying him with formula milk at night time (FIL insist in this cos he claims i not enough milk so he always hungry). I only wants to feed him with breastmilk. But again, FIL claims that his grandson is too thin. CRAZY right!

i'm currently using the combi noodle cutter (comes with a box and a spoon) for cutting up pasta and noodles for my boy. but i find that it doesn't cut up meat very well. hence, am curious to try this out.

heng hubby's colleague stopped breastfeeding a mth ago n uses de same pump as me. so i borrowed hers n i can actually feel tat it is stronger den my pump even first time i use it. so i think all along i've been using a ko-ya pump =x
