(2009/09) September 2009 MTBs

Flower4,
If I tell you how my girl sleeping pattern is, you will know that your baby is actually sleeping VERY WELL! We still couldn't find out the reasons, but my girl has been sleeping very poorly at night for the past month. Kept waking up throughout the night, on a good day, wakes up 2-3x, on average wakes up about 5x, and the records so far is she woke up for >20x!!!!! But she sleeps well during the day at nanny, some of my friends commented that she might have slept too much during the day, but it's only about 4-5 hours which I think it's ideal for baby this age. Really don't know why, I just have to bear with it and hope she can sleep better soon. Luckily my #1 sleeps very well at night these day, else don't know how I can cope.

My girl drinks 3x150ml and latch on 3-4x. Not a big drinker. Wonder how much she has gained for the past month with the poor sleeping pattern. She was 6.7kg at 4 months. And she turned 5 months yesterday. Will bring her to PD next week.

sandwich,
Same here, both my kids go to PD, and only that PD, cos we find him very good and his med seems to cure my #1 illness very effectively. I don't mind to spend the $ for the assurance.

You still cut the food for K? I have never cut food for my boy leh. If really need to, I just use the cutlery or my hand to do it, hehe, lazy mummy here. My mum commented that I should cut, but I think since he is taking the food well, why should I cut? But in cc, his teachers cut for him also.

michelle,
Huh? You are trying to crush an apple using a fork? Is it possible? What I do is use a metal teaspoon to scrap off the apple, you know what I mean? Crushing an uncooked apple using fork seems to be mission impossible to me leh.....

RE: solid food
My girl's nanny couldn't wait. So she suggested to start rice cereal for my girl. She gave her 1 teaspoon yesterday and she took it well. And she has also made apple juice and orange juice for her, and she is ok with it too.

I also think its not so good to air dry the pump in the open. Like buy the air dry bag abit the wasted ley. like contradicting rite?

--Printz n Such (baeyby)--

Regarding Pigeon Y teat, it is for 2-3months old. I used that one but my girl doesn't like it cos the milk flow is fast for her. I'm still using S teat. For avent, still using teat no. 2 which is for 1+mths. So, Y is between S and M. About leakproof, not so sure ley.

--milkyway--

wah topic now is back on weight/height again??? i hv not weighed him this wk maybe i shld do it later!

kam
jumperoo so good ah? i was thinking now joseph is abt 8.7kg wait jump a while cannot take his weight oredy. the jumperoo activities fun or not?

mama_to_6js,
According to a mummy, her daughter still plays with the jumperoo till now (ie, 2 yo) leh! Most of the exersaucers have similar activities one, rattles, teether, musical, etc. Same kind of fun, I think, for the babies at least. At least Jumperoo has one more function, ie, baby can jump!

Don't take too long to decide leh. It's this age that a baby can benefit most from an exersaucer. If you are lucky, he plays for a few months, if not, he might get bored of it after a couple of months.

Paige
OOh...did she???
I kindda scan through posts lately...
so could have missed it.. hehehe..

hi kam,
Can email me too?

Glamourmon
Anyone have BN "M" size to sell? able to email me the photo.

Anyone here have not latch ur bb after a few weeks and managed to latch again? able to share how you do it? My gal don wan to latch now, thinking of latching her again as CNY need to go back hubby hometown. will be easier if she latch as the journey takes at least 8 hrs.

bbq

reading back the posts n saw urs abt ur boys. If u're worried, maybe just bring to the PD n check. My PD did mention that intake can drop until half during milk strike, but sam never experienced a milk strike, so I din really ask too much abt what is acceptable. At least see PD liao, can set ur mind at ease.

Connie:
my mum is not doing house work for us... my hb does most of house work while i look after the kids on weekends

sandwich:
we have withdrawn #1 from childcare centre. if my MIL is fine to look after her for longer, think i'll just enrol her in playgroup, 2 hours a day that type, instead of full day childcare. my grandma-IL was very angry to know that #1 had fever for 1+ week, and kept saying that it is too early to send her to childcare when she is only 18-month old... better don't make grandma-IL angry as she is very old now...

me too, bring my kids to see PD... don't mind forking out more $$ as the PD is very detailed

Baby flips:
my boy makes his first flip without assistance today!!

Jul
oh gawd! sam is really meaty n chunky! aiyoh *pinch pinch hug hug tight tight!* look at his thighs, i tot mine v big but urs even bigger!! aiyoh all the cleaning up after his pukings during initial mths now makes it all worthwhile LOL

Kam / paige
i got the jumperoo already and best of all? my #1 opened box for me and fixed up everything for me from scratch! i cant even figure out how the metal sticks connect. stupid mama! i think my joseph still too short? cos he is still tiptoeing!

connie
i just checked with shelled. i have the olive green long, apple green and black long. u can go to the website to check out the colours.

mamato6

Nah.. he's not as chubs as urs. He's just all scrunched up, plus he's rather short for his weight - only 66.5cm - so look rounder lor haha

shelled, my boys have more than doubled their weight. They are not the lightest babies I have known but neither are they heavy weights like MMT6J and Jul's sons. And, they don't look chubby at all. Just avergae lor. I tend to get more worried easily because pple always say twins develop slower than singleton.

I see all your kids making friends with Sophie but mine are not interested in her at all. I think simply because they still can't grasp anything except my fingers.
sad.gif

Crystalz, I have also tried spoon feed and syringe, all leak out. My babies are generally happy until feeding time.

Princess, milk strike = don't want to drink milk.

Jul, sam is sooooo cute. I like the folds. I saw my PD once at 2 mths and once at 4mths for jabs. Told him the problem but he said nothing. Maybe it's not a big problem after all. At the 2nd mth visit, he told me my babies are one of the heaviest twins around. Then at 4th mth, he said the younger one was not putting on as much as he ought to. But he didnt suggest any solution to the milk strike.

Just hope things will get better as they approach 5mths. I am also considering if I should start feeding them other things other than milk. But bring first time mum, I am apprehensive because I don't know what to feed them and how to prepare the food for them
sad.gif

sad.gif
.. at 3.5months my boy was only 6.15kg and 65cm long... no chub chub at all. going to be 4mth this coming mon, cant wait to know his weight.
lucky his daddy also no chub chub when he was a baby if not my MIL sure says is my BM :p.
plus he doesnt drink much per feed, still ard 120 to 130ml when my MIL feeds him using bottle. For the last 10 to 20 ml she always has to force him to drink..till sometime he will make the puke sound.

bbq

Maybe then it was just 'begining' of milk strike, so nothing to note yet? I think PDs also take weight gain as gauge of devt, to an extent.

Everytime I see my PD, he'll start with "Samuel's weight is very good". Tdy he said he is "super weight". Once again, he said can feed solids if he shows interest. I told him Sam got NO interest in our food, plus he still takes 800ml+ per day, so he said, "very good, then wait till 6mths".

Since every bb's devt n need sare different, guess u just have to agar for urself. But I did ask PD, he said shd start with those rice cereals as first food, then move on to purees.

prinzess

120ml not too bad. Sam also only drank that amt ard that time. I think he's the drink water will become fat type. I see Hubs' bb photos, all look exactly like sam. Also chubby chubby too.

mama to 6,
Do u have the websote link?

waiwai,
my friend told me pg not very good as they don really learn anything. I not sure abt it as I q for cc and hopefully jun have vacant. But meanwhile, thinking should I put him to pg. The talent plus is opening soon in Feb. not sure good or not. If enrol then need to buy uniform. then very waste $$ if he go CC in jun.

mamato6Js ya, your #1 is really brilliant! I had to look at the manual :p oh, i thought my girl is a shortie, but her feet can touch the floor parallel already! but then again, my daughter is an august baby
happy.gif

jul aiyo, Sam's so cute, can tilt head sideways and look at camera,
happy.gif
my daughter can also do that, actually wanted to take a picture of her too but she refuses to look at the camera
sad.gif
but, she still CAN'T flip!
sad.gif
But i think cannot flip is a blessing in disguise, as now I can still leave her alone on her changing bassinet she lie there "diam diam".

Jul
joseph is actually nt very chubby la. he is just fleshy n huggable. i think my twins were bigger than him last time but then again they were 100% fm fed babies.

bbq
r ur twins still puttg on weight? if they r then there is nothing u can do abt ur milk strike other than to try diff ways of feeding. u might want to start them on solids slightly earlier if their milk intake has decreased considerably. start with rice puree first. mix with milk so at least u still incl some milk here n there in their diet. dun be overly worried ok. some babies r just not milk lovers, they prefer to eat! so dun believe the myths telling u tat all babies love milk!

paige
i wont advise u to leave ur baby unattended at the changing table now cos u dunno when she will just start flipping!! so dun take chance ok

kam> can leh. tat's wat hubby did. haha, but we only let baby drink de juice tat came out. today we decided to buy heinz instead. hahha. cos too lazy to make it ourself

shelled> where is ameda service centre?

paige

It's not so good to flip. Sam can try to flip like 10x during diaper change. Not fun lor!

mamato6

Hmm.. could it be residue fats from the FM supplements I gave Sam in the first 3 mths???

Seriously, Sam doesn't look like 8.77kg either. He's rather compact for his weight. Short & fat! Arggh!
