1) netted underwear (like the type TMC use) - 2 pcs, $4 each incl normal postage
its v good for holding the maternity pads in place...stains r easily washed off too..its washable

2) feeding cups - 3 sets of 10 cups each, $2 each incl normal postage
to prevent nipple confusion...if u need to supplement before ur milk ss comes, its good to use this method

kiddo> ya. must get ur bb to poo at least 5-6times a day. tat way is an indication tat ur bb is drinking enugh. but than again if ur bb is gaining weight, no jaundice, den i dun think got any prob? maybe better to check with doc? =p

happykae> i dunno leh. seems like de moment bb comes out, den i went clinic 1wk later, i oredi lost 9kg. not sure y. maybe de weight gain were due to water retention? cos hubby say my legs n backside much smaller. even my face oso =x

my baby really sucks very hard for the first few sucklings, like want to swallow me like that... i try other positions other than my favourite lying down position (me lazy), but don't feel comfortable. sighz, my poor nipples...

if baby has wind, u can use "ru yi" oil. put a few drops on your palm, rub, then put on baby's tummy, no need to rub his tummy. then put a bit at his back, the tail bone. that's what my confinement lady is doing. PD said that my baby doesn't have much wind

hey, think we may be in the same observation room on 8 Sep! coz in that room, i heard Dr Woody told the nurse to get anaethetist for 3 out of 4 (including me) ladies, and i heard him talking to someone, something like "u sure u don't want epi?" then i thought "wah that person so strong!" Was that u??

my last confinement was done by MIL too, she always commented my milk is little, and comment many things which hurt me. i was depressed for 2 weeks partly coz of her. i hire CL this time, so much happier!

i used Medela PIS, i sat with both legs bent to support the bottles, so my hands are free. it is quite good, not painful for me. but a bit bulky to bring to office

my baby also sleepy head coz of jaundice. have to use 5-10 min to wake him up before start latching. i use damp cotton wool to wake his face he can still sleep. sometimes give me the "don't disturb me" look and turn away

don't stress yourself too much about amount of milk pumped. relax and naturally the milk will come. it takes sometimes to see the improvement. jia you!

oh ya, i pump about 5mins i got 85ml at one breast, so i only assume bb suck for 5mins shld getting more then 85ml lioa, so shld be ok la..
that my assumption, i have stopped all bottle feed & pumping lioa. til bb after 1 month old, see how stable, i dun wan wind on bb....very stressful! he very good boy la, he never scream & cry jus like very kan Ko like tt. making the sound nggeehh ngeehh , like constipation feeling like tat.. i can tell he is suffering...


BTW, my hubby worried i overfeed or comfort feeding bb, he keep asking me to get pacifier .

IS it advisable to introduce pacifier at this time, my bb only 14days old.

that is a "plan" only. cos baby #2 is not out yet, i can't predict how my toddler will react around the baby. but overall, i must say that other than his allergies and coughs/colds from school, he's actually a pretty well behaved and easy to care for toddler. or maybe because i'm quite a chin chye parent with lower standards, heehee.

called my dad in the morning. yah, received the book already. my boy can read it this weekend. he likes the other three in the series, maybe if i pop by to borders when they're having a coupon promotion, i'll get the entire set for him.

Wah, your eczema quite bad hor...my hubby and I was soooo worried about me using elomet during pregnancy...my first trimester and 2nd trimester was bad, then 3rd trimester my eczema miraculously dissapeared, only small areas which i can use desonide instead of elomet.

Now during confinement because of sweat it triggered my eczema again...somemore eat and drink all those "pu" and "heaty" stuff eczema got worse...my legs i do put elomet but other area I put desonide because I'm afraid that it will come in contact with baby's skin when i breastfeed

Breast area also a lot of rashes, but have to "ren" and not put steroid around the breast lah...good thing areola and nipple is ok...i slather lansinoh on areola and nipple twice a day, maybe that helped.

my maid has been with me for 4 mths. After I let her go out once, even though she is still paying back loan and not supposed to go out, her attitude has changed. I'm planning to let her finish paying off her loan then maybe I'll return her to the maid agent and get another agency to source for a better maid. The agent I got her from is really lousy so I don't want another maid from her.

you should continue to bf. Your baby is probably incubating the flu virus already so if you bf, you will passed on the antibodies to her. However, if you are seeing a doc, must let him know so that he gives you medication that is safe during bfing.

That will be another 3-4 mths before she can pay off her loan. That's the problem with maid - you treat them well a bit, they climb over you. Initially, when my maid feed my bb, she would sit on a chair. Now she upgrades, she sits on the sofa. This morning, I saw her sitting on the sofa and one of her legs on the edge of the coffee table while feeding my bb (I think she didn't know I was still awake). I don't even sit with my legs on the table!!!

I also dunno how I lose weight leh. I actually still eat everything and don't exercise.
WHich is why I was told by gynae my preg weight was mostly water + bb + some fats. That's why both preg I have this stubborn last 2-3kg that won't go away. Cos it's actually fat that I will have to jiayou and do something about.
But of course... I'm too damn unmotivated to be bothered.

But K don't like Avent or Pigeon pacifier leh. Dunno why.
He only wanna use the Safety 1st one that I bought sometime ago cos it was cheap and cute.

1 stole money (and her own passport) and ran away,
1 chalked up ridiculous overseas phone bills using our home phone,
1 said her bro kenna accident back in Philippines so we buy tix to let her go visit and she never came back,
then 1 more is almost deaf-mute with her nonexistent English (and I can't speak bahasa indonesia) so nothing ever gets done properly at all.

urs is fili? u cant let maid go out one. thats why i prefer to have indo who have no off days, other than the fact i speak bahasa indo as well. once they go out they will be influenced by frds. i used to have a very good maid who worked 4 yrs from me. i thought after working 4 yrs she is trustworthy enough so when she asked me for off day, my hub relented. wah after that all sorts of patterns out! in the end gotta send her home. sad lo she was very good with my kids

It's not the gross factor but I am shocked at the audacity.

I have been closing two eyes on certain things that she does. I just scared that all these little things will accumulate and one day I will shout at her. Whenever my son cries, she just brings him to me and says he is hungry. (I am usually in my room pumping or resting) Initially, I would try to bf him and shove the nipple into his mouth. He would fuss and I thought he was just being difficult. Then I realised my maid just took the easy way out and my son wasn't hungry. It could have been just discomfort, wet diaper etc. No wonder my son was damn pissed off with the nipple in his mouth. I have yet to tell her off. Also trying to ren.......

Yes, i agree with you - can't let them go out. Initially I thought of letting me go on off day for "humanitarian" reason (because they need a breather). Then I hear all the horror stories, so now, I rather pay her extra to keep her at home. Esp, now with babies, all the more I can't afford to let her play any tricks. Anyone install viewcam to monitor their maids?

my gal has been choking after around 10mins of feeding today. I think my milk flow is too fast for her. Is there anything i can do to help her? cos after she choked and i break her off, she dont want to nurse anymre. But i've been feeding her more often like 1hr apart.

so its good..
dun have to stop BF even when u are sick...(certain other diseases i not sure...but flu and fever is ok).. thats what we learnt in prenatal class..so i rememebred!!

yes my numbness hands haven go away, worst and been handling &amp; carrying bb, i twisted my both wrist , cuz i cant really feel my hands til i twisted my wrist and my wrist started to get pains..

i did check with Dr Joyclyn wong, she say go for malay massage ,its will go away.. i have finished 5 sessions of malay massages already still haven go away...

at least your bb feed is routine.. but is heir wire,very hard to predict some time 1 hr, 2 hr 1.5hr ,3hrly or even upto 4hr. very hard to stand by for me, as now bb have wind in his stomach, i stopped bottle feed lioa.. which i only tried for 4days, 1 bottle feed per day leh.. sigh sobz...

maybe shld source around for better teats for the bottle. pigeon one seems hard , and i relise bb upper lips skin peel :S..

i bought the medela PISA liao.. and tried it earlier.. managed to pump abt 60ml total at one go (more than my usual).. save me time and effort compared to my usual manual pump...

are you ok now? how your asthma, think you dun use the warming shampoo &amp; lotion la. totally not warming one.. maybe of tat your body cooling then trigger asthma?

i total din use lioa, i bot 1 bottle warming shampoo &amp; 1 bottle bathing lotion. i since stopped once i experience its not warming as its claims.. now i use the taiwan version one its works great. and its strong ingredient too.. (which i initialy skeptical about it as its got the Gosh Catcher pic on the bottle :p)...

or isit you recently take chinese medicine? some times when i take chinese medicine, i will get asthma attack too..

the last i heard from jennifur over sms few days ago was that she was negotiating early discharge from her doctor. they have not found the cause of low white blood count though. i think she should have discharged by now. she was worried abt jed at home while she was in the hosp.
 
hello, hello!! Have not been logging in for a while cos' busy with Nathaniel. Yes, Nate is finally discharged after spending 78 days in the hospital. What a relief for the parents.

Rach, I am using the Ameda Pump. Its good too. I bought it at S$320 from Moms-in-Mind 2 years ago. Actually, you can rent one set from MIM to try first. And if it is good, can buy. I was like you too - contemplating if I should buy the PIS but its too expensive lor.... so went for the cheaper alternative and it has served me really well =) Well done in persevering. Jia you, ok?

yes, mine is fili. Actually, even if I don't let her go out, she also makes friends very easily. I think it is a fili trait. Go supermarket with me also say hi to others, go to friends' house also make friends with their maids. When she first came, she didn't know anyone, then now, made a lot of friends in the same block when she goes and wash car.

Yes, I think I've been too kind to her. I even let her extend her loan because her family is very poor and needs her money so I let her send $70 home every month. I also let her use my home phone to call home for 20 mins a week on condition that she doesn't own a hp. But now she got her own hp. I'm still debating whether to withdraw her benefits.

i pump for 10-20mins usually. cos i only feed bb one side. de other side can pump. but i usually pump both sides tgt. so i stop when one side got like 70, de other side 30, den i store in one glass bottle. juz nice. i dun pump more even if have. cos i scare when bb wake up for his next feed, not enugh milk for him =p

aiyoh, how to wake up at 5plus to run now? bb drinking time so not correct. den plus day time i cant sleep, only left nite time, but now with bb disturbing me every 2-3hrs, i oredi so tired. stil how to wake up to go joggin?

Just came back from my check up this am. going induce next wk 24 sep at 9am. Wondering does your gynae chg for surchg if u choose the date to c-sect/induce?

My gynae wanna chg me for that. $500! so i let him decide the date cos i don think i wanna spend this $. I got a feeling that he ask to induce its for his own convenience. so that he can plan his day. he give me the reason to induce is due to my early stage come menses so don give birth after 40 wks.
