U check if her tummy is round and hard - and her cry tone is sharp and screaming then I might be colic. For me I preferred pump then latching - latching is taking longer time and I do nt know how much she is drinking. Each
time she suckle also fall alsp so night time I definitely won't wan to latch her.
Today baby is nt crying but she wake up every 1.5hrs interval for milk. tis 2 days I'm reli exhausted, engine can't move soon.
I tried give her more abt 70ml - 80ml it seems she hv difficulties to finish it and merlion as well. Then 60ml is just nice but she woke up so frequently for milk.
My 210ml is before latchin... each pump min I will get 150ml. Just finished pumping - from 3.30am - 630am I produced 170ml.
ur ML seems gd - can u give me her contact?

You're very fortunate to have 2 helpers! But you probably need it.
Not easy even though your two older ones are now sorta independant. Helping with schoolwork is time consuming too. My #1 is now 22 months old. Unfortunately, I am now living in Auckland and domestic help is virtually unheard of here because of the minimum wage labour law. Even my part-time cleaner who comes in once a week charges $70 each time just for general cleaning. One thing I've really struggled to adjust to was being independant and having to cope with houseowork on my own again.

Any mummies here use pouch sling to carry and nurse baby? I spend so much time nursing and not enough time doing anything else that I'm thinking of getting a pouch sling so I can walk around while baby is feeding inside and have my handsfree. Easy to use or not huh?

Too tired to sleep.... so pop in here b4 hubby finds out and KPKB. I Popped on Monday morning. Started with natural then plus gas, then epidural than got stuck at 8cm, ended up with emer C-sect with epi, 12 hours later. Sigh.... Anyway, BB is out and IT'S DEFINITELY BETTER TO HAVE HIM INSIDE THAN OUTSIDE!!!!!
I was discharged yesterday noon and since then it was a nightmare. Baby Ian wanna feed so regularly and need to change nappy so often. Hubby can't handle these and my wound hurts so much. Fortunately my mum is around to help... what to do without her!

its those $40++ one... available at Kiddy Palace and it does help me alot in supporting my bb...
without it, i gotta stack pillows upon pillows... i guess we'll outgrow it soon.. but for initial stage, it does help alot..
maybe no need to get the brest friend one which cost $70++ or $100++.. i not very sure..
get the simple $49 one will do i think...
since we wont need it when bb gets bigger..
i find the one i have good enough la...

she sweeps de house everyday, mop de kitchen after every cooking, wash de dishes, wash my bedsheet, wash toilet. basically take over de role of de wife in doing housewk n caring for bb.

On the 15/09, i went to see my gynae for the last time as my EDD is on 18/09.
As i wish my baby can comes out on the 20th sept 2009 cause my sister is getting married on the 19th sept. I wish to attend her wedding so everyday i tell my baby to comes out after her aunty's wedding.
But out of the sudden, on 16/09, around 2.50am i was awake by the contraction pain. I went to the toilet for urine and found that there was blood.
I immediately brush my teeth and sit down to rest awhile.
At 3.20am, contraction comes again and my waterbag broke.. Oh shit.. Damn it..
3.40am, reach TMC. The nurse ask me to change and check how much cm have my cervix open.
I ask the nurse how much, she said is 8-9cm already. I can't ask for epidural, is too late!
Sent me into the labour ward to standby.
4.30am my baby girl was born out safely.
Can u imagine within this 90 mins, everything happen out so fast!
Was planning for the 3rd baby after a few years but after this HORRIBLE incident, I told myself 2 is enough! *sweat!

yes i need 2 helpers. cant do with only one, esp now that i gotta coach boys in their school work, one helper has to cook and i need another one to supervise the other kids. need many pairs of eyes and hands at home!
oh i didnt know u r not in spore! i used to stay in aus for a yr when i only had the twins. also no helper and everything gotta do myself! but it was fun n u learn a lot from ur independence or should i say forced to learn!
somebody was asking me if i will bring my baby ard when i sending the kids for classes? the answer is yes. no choice lor the rest of my kids were like that too when they were babies. i only start leavg them at home with maid when they turn 6 mths.

Its been a long time....
Suppose to give birth on 18 sep but my son cant wait to come out so on 31 Aug he come out and weighing 3.74kg. But me doesnt have a gd rest as he was admitted to KKH on the 6th day aft discharge from Mt A...Stay in KKH for 4days due to jaundice....had a blood exchange cos is very very high...now he still have jaundice and is still keep gng up...went to KKH again on tue..done test on liver and urine..all fine no problem..gng to KKh again for check up next fri..Stress!!
Its been a long time....

Son very sleepy...he dun really sucks....so quite diffcult to get him latch on...even he latch on he dun really suck!! can u image..he really shut his mounth very very tight..dunno to be angry with him or laugh at him.!!Ai...

congrats to mommies whom have popped since my last appearance here...

MIL is giving me a hard time... =(
1st: "tidied" my whole hse upside down till i dun "recognise" my own hse and dunno where the usualy stuff r kept
2nd: make my life miserable by doing/ saying things that is so hurting and stressing both me and my hubb
3rd: .. long stories of complains"
MIL asked me she want to take care of me during confinement when im in my 2nd trim... now she only wan to take care of bb...
and BTW, she dunno how to take care lo.. dunno how to bathe, clean, wash his buttocks, wrap diapers etc.. im have to stand beside and supervise leh... piangz...
my BF came in on day 5 (very late) my bb so big sized and always hungry) MIL pestered me to give FM evryday till i cannot tahan.. so day 4 hubb went to buy FM liao.. both of us so fed-up and wanted to engage last min confinemt nanny frm TMC but all fully booked.. =(
before tat, i tried BF (door closed but nt locked), n bb was shrieking/ crying badly and she rushed in without knocking, damn scared me and stressed me.. she took bb away again...
"passed" bb to sleep with MIL since day 7's nite time (the nite before) cos i really need rest at nite to recover... im so heart-broken.. MIL so happy
even snatched bb away from my arms when im cuddling him or soothing bb and he stopped crying... *evil MIL*
FIL came over to sleep every nite but yesternite nv came over.. i think bb's cries "scare" him off liao...
want to engage ML for massage dun even dare to... evrything we do is being questioned and bombed by nt following the old times.. blah blah blah...
then throwing us with old tales, y we are not doing this, y must BF, FM is the best; y nv clean bb tongue; y he so yellow, must feed him with pearl powder n bathe him in herbs; y this y that, y u dun listen to old folks, or y u nv listen to us parents, or the aunt that has many grandkids liao... *faint* we explained but still nv get to their heads one.. "dun listen to doctors advices, they dunno one la"
and oh, she dun even bother to find out what food shld be cooked for confinement... just add ginger to normal harmless food.. which is, since day 3 i have been eating almost the same style of food till now..
hubby said dun get ML first cos i wont feel relaxed with the massage when MIL is still around.. so i have to wait till after bb full mth... :/

How long does your part-time cleaner work for that $70/time? Sounds really expensive!
I use a pouch to carry K around when I BF him outside.
Esp if time is tight, or if he's in one of those "I slowly slowly drink" moods.
But I don't feel it's truly handsfree lah, cos if you move ard, bb will end up tugging on your nipple to avoid slipping off. So still gotta use 1 hand to stabilise him in the pouch so that he doesn't sway too much while you're moving around.

a "bit" late but here is my birth story
08/09 tuesday
last chk-up with gynea at clinic.. ultrasound scan est. bb weight at 3.3kg le..
asked me to admit same day 3pm la..so probably can have bb bday on 09/09.. must induce cos me still no feeling of contractions..
bb will be too big for natural (according to him to my size).. if we admit today, 60% sucess chance of natural.. i wanna natural.. so we okie..
3.30pm - reach hosp and finish registration at 4pm
waiting for empty available observation bed (lucky im not in pain or waterbag broken)
5pm- check dilation by nurse... damn painful! only 1cm dilated. so insert pill- another sharp pain. i have only slight irregular contractions.. no wonder no feeling at all.. lol.. but so painful VE...
monitor for another hr.. go back to ward for rest and dinner
8.30pm - sent down to delivery level - observation ward again.. clear poo poo and wash up and wait
9pm~9.30pm - on drip for induction. the needle inserted is so long! and painful to me.. then dr. woody came to break my waterbag.. felt a pain and then warm water gushed out.. (okie so tat the feeling of waterbag broken)
started to feel contractions coming.. (so now i know how real contractions is like.. lol) hubb support me when breathing technics frm mrs wong classes... was bearable with it.. can only clutched right hand cos left hand pained with drip needle.. argh.. even joking and making fun of another lady moaning away..
it coming at a contraction/ minute..
~10pm+ - dr woody came and asked if i wanted epidural (cos the anesthetist is ard at this time).. he said if i want, i can ask.. 80% of women cannot stand the pain one.. i replied so far i dun want it... i can bear the pain!
so i asked doc how long is my turn till full dialtion, he est abt 6 to 7am... (huh, so long~~~ -_- )
after tat it started to come 2 to 3 contractions/minute.. i cannot even relax and breathe properly, the next contractions came... i am wringing my hubb's hand and almost wanted to bite it off. but i din la..
09/09 Wednesday
12am - by this time.. im the one moaning in the whole observation ward liao.. all the other ladies were being pushed to delivery suite.
i wanna asked for gas mask/ thigh jab.. but im still nt in delivery suite. i asked if the thigh jab can be jab more than once.. nurse reply it better to do it one time only..
so i asked for VE to see how dilated i am before i decide for epi or thigh. nurse did VE just when the highest contraction rate came (127) damn pain!! only 3cm.. *i wanna give up liao.. pain for so long and so painful, still only 3cm...
so i asked for epi shots.. nurse gave form for me to sign b4 getting anesthetist to come. hubb still blur blur.. i wanted to shout gimme the damn form to sign la...
12.15am - epi carried out but need me to sit up on edge of bed, pillow prop on my lap, leaned front. aiyoo, i got my big belly and boobs blocking and now a pillow.. how to lean and curl like a prawn..
then contractions keep coming, how to keep still
finally it done with lotsa efforts..
gotten side effect of shivering.. epi dose had to be set quite high for me.
1.15am - finally got available delivery suite for me. the shifting made me felt my contractions pain again.. cos nurse lowered my epi dosage (supposingly after epi shots, dun have to feel the contractions pain rite..?)
so gotten back to "painfree" after an hour of requesting
becos i could'nt sleep the nite before, i drift in and out of sleep this time.. need to conserve energy to push later...
5am - another nurse came and did VE, and yes.. this time no pain for VE.. she said gd news, i shld be ready in an hr's time..
6am+ nurse came in hustle here and there... but no sign of dr. woody,
6.30am he is here.. preparing, asking nurses this and that.. they all very bz, cos a lot of pple delivering today
im still groggy and numb, and shivering came back..
they propped my legs up and i was like.. it time already? then they asked me to push.. i was like.. i cant feel anything.. i dunno what im pushing.. (at least they nv lowered the epi dosage)
so i just pushed.. and pushed, then they asked me to stop.. then told me to give a BIG pushed again..
6.47am - i felt empty suddenly.. then my bb was place on my chest.. surprised and emotional.. i teared! then they quickly place him on warmer..
hubby was asking y our turn, i took so long to deliver.. cos he din sleep this whole time.. haha..
i was wondering how come my bb not coming at all.. and contractions r so painful.. i think becos my bb too big sized really for me..
and pple thot i had c-sect wor... lol =)

Just feel like complaining
I seriously dun like my CL. She is good lah when it comes to doing the housework and bringing things for me to eat, but i guess i prefer someone who can teach me how to take care of baby. Everytime when baby cry, i will carry him...then CL will come and carry baby away from me. When i want to bottle feed baby, she will also carry baby away and feed. I feel so irritated...i want to have some bonding time with baby
Dun noe if i m carrying baby in the wrong way, he will cry...but when CL carry him, he will stop. I am thinking, when CL leave on 1st oct..how? i wun noe how to handle baby.

MIL: FM is better than BM la.. last time they all drink FM grew up so big now..
(i wanted to say evryone is recommending BM, it's even printed on the FM tin lo.. and dun u remember the china FM incident..)
i hope she is out of my life the moment full mth celebration ends.. cos she needs to go back n wk..
(BTW, she even dare to ask us when we wan to hold then full-mth, then must have cakes la.. lol
so i told her nowadays no need to give cakes except relatives.. just give small token or thk u gifts like choco/ wrapped red eggs etc.. she said i talk rubbish that i dunno my stuff... im so pissed [she nv being to any recent bb full mth celebration cos they dun have frens one lo])

guess all MIL are alike...rare to find someone who wld give compliments to their MIL esp during confinement period. My sis used to complain to me abt her MIL during her pregnancy. And i actually told her tat, this is nt the worst yet. Shall wait for the confinement period and the period after confinement. Coz both the mother and the grandma want to haf a say on hw to handle the baby. both haf their own thinking and ways of handling matters and situations and this is when the WAR starts...

guess all MIL are alike...rare to find someone who wld give compliments to their MIL esp during confinement period. My sis used to complain to me abt her MIL during her pregnancy. And i actually told her tat, this is nt the worst yet. Shall wait for the confinement period and the period after confinement. I personally find the bfeeding pillow not useful. I had csection too and find the pillow pressing on my tummy and wound. I have been using a pillow (those thicker ones) and I prefer pillows because I can rest my boy on the pillow without fearing he will roll over and fall to the ground (always have this fear of dropping him).

she been crying... MIL, mother & CL all said she's hungry..
but she was fed BM, 10ml EBM, 60ml FM at 130pm...how can she be hungry at 230pm??
then they went to make another 90ml FM for her..she vomited out some bean curdish thing....then drank 40ml FM....

Jess> I used Medela twin electric plus for my #1, and still using the same one currently for my #2. It is good, pumping is strong, and is cheap (about $300+). Only thing is it is super noisy loh... My hubby forbid me to pump in the bedroom when at night cos he cannot sleep! I have to move to the study to do it... but regardless of that, I think it is a fairly decent pump. Not sure about Ameda, but many mummies seemed to like it too! My SIL used it and loved it, only problem is that the parts (like funnel or what) tend to spoil easily. Medela is hardier. But Ameda is qiuet loh..

just wanna check with u all ar.. what are the food n drinks we need to watch out for when we're bfing bbs?
I've been looking forward to the end of confinement so that i can start drinking cold stuff and kopi/tea & coke.. but all these got caffeine.. so i dunno how wor.. how much can i drink a day so it wun relli affect my bm..?

I think now you just have to beware that your MIL don't spoil the bb.
When push comes to shove, I ended up scolding my ILs when they let J go out of hand. They just keep saying "children are like that one", but they don't realise that by letting him get his way, they are CONDONING him to misbehave.
Likewise for your MIL holding/swinging your bb, it may develop to become bb's sleeping habit, then later you also have to hold/swing bb ard every night before he can sleep.
Ya ya! Scare your MIL with the China melamine milk incident!!!
Since she so super love your bb, the thought of letting bb drink anything poisonous should scare her into supporting you to BF.
Old ppl are more traditional abt red eggs/ ang ku kueh/ cakes for full mth lah.
My MIL is ok with us just throwing party with buffet, but she still wants to go get cakes/red eggs for the relatives cos she say old ppl will want to rcv those.
If don't have, then they will nag nag nag why we never do things "properly".
If not too much trouble then just let your MIL have her way lor, otherwise she may feel everything u also go against her and don't listen to her.
My MIL also wanted me to put J on FM last time, but luckily cos we dont' live togther, I just continue to BF lah. After 2 mths, J look so chubby like Santa Claus that she no longer ask me to change to FM.
Just ride it out and prove to her that BM truly is better for baby.

I also feel leaky breasts is too much hassle lah. That's why invested in a lot of nursing bras this time round so I can change them everyday and not have to rush myself to do laundry just so that I"ll have clean bras to wear.
Sweat like siao in this weather leh! All my clothes so smelly.

hey mummies, i m able to pump out at least 90ml of BM during each session now! i latch on to bb during each feed or let my mum or MIL feed bb my EBM. i pump out my BM as n when i m free. so far so gd, hv nt been giving FM already. for my 1st bb, i had suffered engorgement, but luckily nt for tis time round. tks to all mummies who hv helped in giving BF-ing tips!
rach, ya i oso spread my BM around my areolas to ease my sore nipples. now bb can latch on properly w/o much pain. i will pull his lower lip so tat his mouth covers almost my entire areola.

yah..Mona is very packed one...
6 days after ur delivery is the time period recommended.. if u read my earlier posts, Mona do not advise anything earlier than the 6th day...
too early will cause uterus to tear..thats Mona's theory..
her priority is post natal customers..
she does normal massage at $35 an hour... but only subjected to free slots...which means only after all the post natal slots are taken up, then she'llslot normal massage in...
her current schedule is packed all the way to Nov...
and i'm almost pleading with her to make way for another 5 sessions for me..
only at nite possible..and i told her no prob... i'll take the 10pm slot...
so my next 5 sessions wil start next mon!! yeah!!
i also want the black v lace.. but only M size available.. i doubt i can squeeze into a M man..sianz... :/

The staff at Mt A spelled my son's hanyu pinying name wrongly!!!! Now the birth cert cannot change but can only clip on a note to address the correction!!!! ARGHHHHHH!!!!
