Hi mummies,

not sure if anyone still remembers me? mama to 6Js, Rach, girly?

I have been MIA from this forum for the past few months as work was really busy. When I finally handed over my work, had to quickly get ready for baby's arrival. I delivered on 28 Aug 09 via elective C-section. VBAC not successful.

So the topic now is BF and pumping. I'm bfing totally, mostly latch on. However, if sometimes breast still feels full then I pump for about 5mins on each side. Pumping is really painful, after all the sucking so I can't bear to pump too often.

Jess
I'm using Medela PIS since my #1. It is very hardy (I used it everyday for abt 4 months then lend to my friend, now back to me, still in good condition) but quite painful for the nipples initially. After a while, the nipples just "hardened" and you don't feel so painful anymore. I heard that Avent uno/duo is not so painful. Ameda also has good feedback.

Girly/Mama to 6Js
how are you coping? I'm coping much better with #2 partly because she is much easier to manage and secondly, because of experience. However, I'm quite worried how I'll cope after confinement. Right now, my mum helps me take care of my #1 100%. He is 2 years old and very active and is a classic example of a kid in his terrible twos. He attends child care in the morning. After my confinement, my mum will not be staying with me anymore but will come and help me take care of my son in the afternoon. The difficult part is night time, putting him to sleep, while taking care of #2 girl. When I put her in the rocker, he will shake the rocker very hard. When i put her in the cot, he will climb up the cot to pat her. My husband comes back late often due to work commitments and my maid's capability is really limited so I'm not keen to depend on her.

I'd really like to hear from you how you manage since both of you have so many kids already. Girly, especially, can manage without a maid! Please share with me your experience.

Shelled,
my bb never scream & cry, but he like making tat kind of noise like in great uncomfort , like wana pangsai tat kind of sound.. his tummy is Round & hard at times soft, but still look round???!

Ru Yi Oil, my hubby worried its might too strong for bb, so he bot vicks creams instead, i oso have bot the gripes water, we spoon feed one teaspoon, did not mix with water, is it ok?

i try not to bring bb to PD, PD clinic is always so noisy & packed :S..

Rach,
do you have to pay transport fee to your ML , her per 1hr is S$35 , if include transport let say SGD20, so total will be SGD55 /hr ..

wat she do for you in 1hr, did she bind you , wat oil or herbs she rubbed on you? did she massage your baby girl

girly
wah ur every meal also so bu one huh? i told my mom tolong tolong already! after hvg confinement food for 2 weeks im really sick of them and growing fat from them too! i looking forward to my life of normalcy again!

sheryn
for me, i didnt avoid anything leh. just like pregnancy lor, eveything in moderation. u take too much caffeine u suffer lah cos baby becomes active! there r certain foods that induce colic too, i think one of them is cabbage. brocolli also produces gas as well. i think u can do a search. i dun avoid all these foods, just eat as per normal lor.

bernice
wow big baby u gonna have! wishing u a smooth induction!

mamijoan
hey! welcome back. of course i remember u. was wondering where have u been, thought u must be busy with work. baby gal is much easier than boy right?

i think shelled is in the same position as u. she too has a 2 yr old plus she doesnt have a maid!

does ur boy sleep with u? dun worry, terrible 2s is just a phase. maybe u can try to involve him in caring for his sister?

mamijoan

we did fight for the BM.. and other pantang sayings... my hubb support me.. they cant seem to understand or even want to understand our beliefs. they rather listen to outsiders or the aunt whom had lotsa grandkids (more experience). but evry bb is different lo.. faintz

i need to start searching for my barangs n put them back into my "fave" spots instead.. lol

vicks cream? used on where? be careful u dun anyhow use leh cos i never heard abt applying vicks cream on newborns leh. and the other time there was a write up abt the dangers of using vicks vaporub on the chest of children who r coughing.

*shelled*
haha..ok ok...stressed coz many of u here are so 'On' on TBF. at least u r, mama to 6Js, sandwich, jenifur...and the rest r working so hard on it...bt i already give up before i even try...and this is already my no 4th baby and i never succeed in TBF.

i am nt doing so coz yes like u say when we r breastfeeding, we constantly feels hungry, wil eat n eat. muz eat healthily too. bt i know i wil nt be doing so after confinement... i even find eating a chore. I usually eat 2 meals a day nia...

*mamijoan*
of course we rem u...u nt only MIA fr this thread bt nt active in FB too...hw i know?? coz i did 'check' on u as and when, haha...

willing to share my experience bt don't think u will like to live a life like mine...juz like mama to 6Js has said, when she has 4 kids n 1 maid, her life basically revolve around the house n family only.

It's very routine. I haven't figure out hw am i going to cope wif 4 this time round. most probably getting a maid. bt when i haf 3 kids, i do things the easiest and most simple way. my hse is kept simple too coz of this reason so that everything can be clean and tidy up fast. hub shares the reponsiblity of fetching the kids to n fro sch, guide my eldest gal in her study, make sure that we always haf cooled boiled water to drink, the vacuum pot is always filled n helps empty the bins (3 bins!!)...

I am mainly in charge of the kids basic needs...i cook, bathe n feed them...I only cook for the children. I keep it simple too (porridge, soup, steamed dishes...) so that i don't spent the whole time in the kitchen doing washing and cleaning up. when the 2 younger ones are younger, i will finished feeding one before i feed the other. nw that they r 3 n 4 nw...i juz feed the 3yo n 'supervise' the 4yo when she eats. btw they r 16mths apart bt the 4yo is much independent.

I am a very routine and organised person lor...so my kids r very 'routine' too...before bedtime i will clean them up and they will be off to bed on their own...they know what to expect and know what r our expectation of them. coz i am with them 24/7, i will constantly remind them of what they shld be doing...

they are generally quite easy to handle. bt of course nt bed of roses...when they bicker among themselves, my head will BURST!!

of course there r still a lot of 'miscellaneous' stuffs to do...washing btls, cleaning after they poop, cutting their nails, wash toilets, iron clothes, doing the laundry of wash hang fold keep (washing machine is fully utilise 365days)....i am the hairdresser too...i trimmed their hair when there's a need to...gosh still gt many other 'miscellaneous' to do. too long to list out...

WAH...if u never asked, i didn't know i am an octopus in disguise leh...always tot i am wonder woman...

paige,
i've never tried desonide before, but i googled it and since the strength is abt the same as hydrocortisone, it should be a weak and better steriod than elomet for breastfeeding mummies, provided you respond well to it. if i apply hydrocortisone, it's like applying nothing, no effect on me. you know what, the gyn whom i visited today at my 39wk visit deemed that my eczema is serious enough to warrant an inducement next tues. she says that i as the mummy shouldn't suffer unnecessarily since bb is full term + she estimates is at least 3kg already. aiyoh, first time i've heard of eczema as a reason for inducement.

shelled,
the tops look quite nice. i might join in your oct spree if the colour of the month is a bright one. now a bit too early to buy, as i haven't given birth yet so can't predict how fast i'll lose the 20kg that i've gained throughout the pregnancy. your spree started and ended within 2 hours, such a popular product! oh, our toddler boys are very similar in age. we can have playdates!

mamijoan,
our situation is very similar. i have a 2.5 year old boy toddler who goes to full day childcare. me and husband and boy stay on our own. so i've gotta figure out how to balance my evenings between taking care of the newborn versus feeding my toddler his dinner, spending time with him and putting him to sleep. i'm planning to co-sleep. me and toddler and infant share a double bed. i don't have a maid and not getting any confinement help, but my husband is able to get off work pretty early and regularly, so will see how it goes lah ...

mamato6js,
oh dear oh dear , using on bb tummy & back rubing on them.!!
i had brocoli almost everyday for meals!!!

me bad mummies, never take note of all these and causes hurt to my own bb :'(

mamato6js,
do u still have the write up, i wana show to my hubby.... so he will stop using vicks. duno his aunty say use vicks la. koaz, i oso only noe RU Yi oil... on bb.. sobz...

Mummies,
thanks for remembering me.

flower4
I remember reading the same article as mama to 6js. Vicks can cause conjestion of the respiration tract. You need to choose one that is recommended for NB. I remember when buying for my son, the only one I can find is from 3 mths old i.e. Snuffle Babes.

Ru Yi Yu is ok. I've used it for both my babies. But I don't rub directly. Put a few drops on your palms, rub then just placed your palms on baby's tummy, don't cover belly button.

girly
Thanks for the tips. You sound very organised. Very pei fu ni. I think I have pampered my elder boy too much already. Plus now he wants to do everything himself so it takes a long time. If you don't let him do it himself, he will throw tantrums and it becomes even more difficult to manage. Plus I don't think there is anything wrong for him to try doing it himself. It is good that he wants to be independant. We adults just need to be more patient for them to learn. My biggest worry is that he likes to climb up and down and we still need to watch him very closely in case he falls. Actually, I started to have a maid from May this year. before that I was managing on my own. Like you, I just keep things simple and live with a bit of mess. Actually have a maid also headache. That is another long story. I would aim to live without a live in maid when my younger one turns 2.

Mama to 6Js
yes, girl much easier than boys ah!! Its true! But I don't want to say too loud coz the old folks always remind me not to count my blessings to early. But part of the reason also because she is full term (38 weeks). My son was premature so had reflux problem so was always crying. Feeding was a tedious process too. Whereas my girl, guai guai drink, guai guai sleep. But also frequently wants to suck for comfort when she wants to go to sleep.

jess
actually it is a lot cheaper these days. Previously it cost some $800. When I bought it was close to $700, now around $500+ only. If it is your first child and you intend to have #2, then it is quite worth it coz PIS is very lasting.

Ok, good night mummies, go and nap before my baby wakes up for feeding.

itsy>
i've lost 8kg after birth... and till now about 11kg... i've put on 18kg... so there's 7 more kg to go..
and another 10kg which i put on before preggy... so i got 17kg to go!! hahaa....

Mamijoan>
yes of coz!!! rem u!!

my ML is $32 per hour for post natal massage... nett.. $160 for 5 sessions.. nothing else extra to be paid.
happy.gif

no transport fee..
happy.gif

the massage starts with me lying on my tummy... then she starts with my legs...then move to my back...
then i turn ard... my legs... then to my tummy... then breasts upon request...coz some mummies dun like..
she helped me to clear my blocked ducts and wind in the breasts..so that milk flow is more smooth...
and i ask for breast massage alt days.. no need to do every day..coz she'll squeeze the breasts like squeeze sponge like that..
ouch!!! the milk shoot out like fountain man.... so high..hit her face.. hahaha....
then after that she put something on my tummy area... some herbs thingy..to get rid of wind...and help uterus to contract...
then she massage my hands... then i stand up..she use a 17 yards long of cloth to bind me....
then end with my own abdominal binder over it....
to be binded for about 7 hours max...then gotta remove...air dry the cloth for next day's usage...
happy.gif

no..she dun massage my baby... dun think she got the extra time.. but if u want. prob can let her know beforehand..
maybe she will allocate slot for the baby massage as well.
happy.gif

she used baby oil and some other oil to massage...she open so many bottles of oil put on her hand then rub on me..
i dunno what oil and never ask also... got smell one la... jamu or something maybe??

mamijoan>
is it worth it to buy PIS from US??
there's some spree going on..only $400++ PLUS SHIPPING leh.... tempting...

wah piang...been pumping the last 1 hour after latching... only 25ml...sianz... sigh..going to rest now..hopefully next 3 hours got more milk coming in... >.<"

Vicks can use for dispelling wind meh?? I dunno leh. Always used Ru Yi oil.
My dad always used to put for me when I was a kid also. Hurhur. Got childhood memories.

Gripe water I prefer not to give directly. Always mixed with water to dilute before giving to bb, because it's quite sweet arh! I don't want bb to develop sweet tooth!
Then down the road I add more and more water to 1 teaspoon of gripe water, until eventually it is 100% plain water.
That's how I "train" Joshua to drink plain water lor.

Re: Using VICKS on bb
I don't think it's advisable, cos the instructions say cannot use on newborn/infant leh.
What I use when J got stuffy nose/chest is something called Snufflebabe. Bought it from Mustafa. It's exactly like VICKS, with minty smell and the same usage, except it's safe for babies.

Jess
Actually I'm very happy to hear you say that "every bb is different". Cos it means you won't simply apply what other ppl say on your bb. You will find the best solution that suits you and your bb.
But meanwhile... *sigh* I also dunno what to do abt your MIL lor! If its me I sure scream at her already.
Just faster countdown the days when she will go away lah. Paiseh, but I really cannot stand ILs who are like that lor.

girlygirly
Aiyah, we "on" for TBF doesn't mean we are BF-Nazi lor.
BF or not is a personal choice. Also depends on whether you are able to commit to it or not. Esp in your case when you have other kids to care for, I think TBF will be damn shag for you lor!

I also eat 2 meals a day leh! *high 5* Especially nowadays even worse! I don't have time for breakfast, then I end up only eating lunch ard 4pm!!
That's why I went to buy a lot of mini snowskin mooncakes keep in the fridge, and munch on 1 whenever I get hungry. Hurhur. Good excuse to binge on mooncakes while it's in season!
lol.gif

Woohoo. You really wonder woman with 8 arms leh!
I seem to be doing everything you are, except I seldom cook, and when I do it's usually something simple for J only (cos adults can eat rubbish), or me + J (cos Hubs working late).
I cannot imagine taking care of 3 and still cooking! Now taking care of 2, sometimes I feel like 24hrs is not enough liao. Even after they go to bed I'm still folding laundry, clean here clean there.
I hope I get more "spare time" after I manage to coordinate their naptime together. Otherwise very hard to mop floor when someone is making noise!! Today I could only manage to clean HALF the house lor. They both woke up before I had time to do the other half.
lame.gif

sandwich
How old is your toddler boy? Where you stay? *sibei kaypoh*
Yes yes! Playdate please! I'm not enrolling my boy into playgroup yet cos I don't want to fumble around with daily schedule to send him to and fro school.
Meanwhile have been looking for ppl to play and interact with him lor, cos didi just lies there and does nothing. Not exactly very interactive.
lol.gif

OK. If next mth's "Colors of the month" is bright color, we open another spree!
Sibei jialat. I already bought 3 liao. Now gonna buy my 4th one.
If next month I buy some more, I think my hubs will go tsktsktsk at me liao.

i think i still got the article. later i go find ok! but definitely definitely vicks is not for baby and worst pls dun rub it directly on ur baby front n back hor!!! salah liao lah!

u eat brocolli ok lah i think dun eat excessively lo. i also like to eat brocolli leh. and different babies react differently? cos some babies got wind they also dun care some babies got a bit wind already v fussy!

eh i agree totally with shelled!! *RAISES BOTH HANDS AND LEGS*

pls hor dun start comparing the amt u can pump ok. u making second time and even sixth time around breastfeeding mothers like shelled n myself feeling the stress!! until we both start pumping to see if we have as much milk! if cannot measure up, wah lagi stress! i must stress that as long as our babies r satisfied after every feed, have enough wet diapers n poo, means we have enough milk ok. dun use the amt we be able to pump out as a yardstick how much milk we have cos our babies r the best pump and able to extract more milk from our boobs than any pumps. must keep remind myself this all the time also cos u all ah making me stress with all the pump pump pump LOL

girly
aiyoh tbf is a personal choice lah dun condemn urself if u cant. if i were u i also will go crazy if i have to nurse a leisurely drinking baby, do housework, and take care of all the kids myself. so u do what suits u best ok! r u considering a maid?

rach
u get 25ml after latch is good enough lah. think of it that ur baby has sucked most of the milk out of u! n u always pump an hour each time ur nipples not sore ah??

mama6>
talking abt poo, how many times should bb poo?? mine poo just ONCE a day!
ALOT poo though...
but pee will be about 3-4 wet diaper change...
issit normal huh???
i used to hear that BF bb will need 8-10 changes a day.............. ???!!???
mine is only like 3-5 diaper change a day leh... today is day 11...
normal or not ah???

bo bian.. i need to pump out so that i can give CL bottle feed at nite so i can rest...and produce more milk..
i realised initially when i just latch thruout the day, i get so exhausted...stressed and dread feeding coz i feel so dry inside...

now i wondering if my pump isnt that good.. hahha..cannot be coz i'm using the same Pigeon Silent Electric as Ling..
hahaha..... but the pump is making my nipples soooo sore loh..
i alt lo..no more flow i change... no more flow i change...
so its like a few min on one breast..and change...else just sucking air very pain for me leh...

its like milk comes out for 3 sec then nothing liao..need to rest it massage it then got flow again....

25ml enough meh?? need to put 3-4 times to be sufficient for a feed at nite leh...
wondering when can i flood my fridge with EBM... >.<"

Hi Mama to 6J,
You’re right, living overseas does make you learn to be more independent. In Singapore, we are spoilt with maids and domestic help etc and now have to do everything myself, but I’m enjoying the independence. (Still wish I can get people to mop my floor though. ;P) Good thing is I have MIL and FIL to help with the toddler so it’s much easier.
How do you divide your time among all the kids to make sure they all get your attention? I’m finding it hard with 2, not to mention 5??? Gee..

Shelled,
Don’t worry, if I cant buy Milk savers in nz, I can ask my mum to help me post it over.
My hubby is Kiwi and he has a big family here. So we moved back here in dec last year and I was working in headhunting until last month. I plan to be sahm for a year at least, then see how. Are you sahm or ftwm?

Ning,
My CL was the same as yours, I think they feel that mummies should just rest and not do anything at all. Just tell her nicely to teach you otherwise you dunno how to handle baby when she’s gone. And don’t worry, it will come naturally to you one. I was worried about being on my own too but it turned out to be quite easy.

Jess,
The Medala PIS is a very good pump but very ex. May not b worthwhile unless you plan to use for quite a long time. I was using the Ameda Lactalin which I found to be just as good and at half the price, also a double pump. I used the Medala PIS (in hospital when my baby #1 was being treated for jaundice) and the Ameda and I found both to be just as good.

Girlygirly,
Wow, listening to your responsiblities and routines, I really admire how you multitaska nd organize your life. Really peifu you and mamato6Js for juggling so many things with a big family. But it’s all worth it at the end of the day. My in-laws have 5 boys and raising all of them was a nightmare but now when they see the whole family together, you just see the pride glowing in their faces.

Rach,
I suggest you don’t pump for one whole hour after latching if you’re not getting much milk. You will injure your nipples otherwise. Do your breast feel very empty after latching? It could be that your baby’s quite efficient at clearning the breast and there is not much more. But if your breasts don’t feel empty but still cant pump much out, it sounds like you might need to change a pump or try massaging your breasts or put warm towel on it to clear some blocked ducts. Sorry, I’m no expert but it use to happen to me a lot.

Rach

WET DIAPERS
mine have abt 8-10 soaking wet diapers daily plus 3-5 poo. yesterday i was changing his diaper he shot his poo so far it landed on my clothes n bedsheet!

to roughly know how wet a wet diaper should be, take 45ml of water n pour it over a clean diaper. (taken from kellymom.com)

the amt u can pump also vary from pump to pump. ur breasts may react better to certain brands. i find that mine dun react well to single pump i need a double pump for faster letdown hence shortening the pumping time needed. time is v precious u know? :p also try not to pump immediately after a feed. i usually rest abt 15-20 mins after feed then pump. if not i get no letdown n very miserable output.

pumping> pumping really so pain meh? keke. how come i find it interestin =p only thing sian is got to sterilise n wash before n after =p

shelled> i msn u my transaction details =p

shelled,
my boy was born in april 2007, so turning 2.5 years old next month. we stay in dover, what about you? when baby #2 arrives, i have an ambitious plan to train my toddler to "read" to baby by sitting them together and getting the older one to flip and articulate key words from the book to the younger one. while i get time off to eat, bathe, etc. like that, both can learn from each other. but ambitious project lah, dunno whether can succeed or not.

EBM amount,
i agree with shelled and mamato6Js that we can't compare EBM amounts. doesn't mean that you pump out a certain (small) amount means bb not getting enough to drink. so many other factors to consider like maybe the mummy has just latched on baby, baby is a small eater etc. for my case, as long as i have a happy and healthy baby, i don't care about the amount of milk the baby takes in a day.

rach
is your baby totally bf? If so, your baby need to poo 5 large seedy stools a day and pee 8 to 10 times a day. In fact, my son used to poo some 10 times a day. How is your baby's weight gain? Did you check with doctor? Also, check his fontanels, if it is sunken, your baby could be dehydrated.

Also, if you don't pump at least once in the middle of the night, your supply will drop. What you can do to give you rest but at the same time encourage milk supply is to have the confinement nanny take care of the baby at night and only bring to you when baby needs to be fed. That way, you can still get 2-3 hours interval of sleep. Go to bed after the 9pm or so feed. And don't forget to take naps between feeds in the day. Don't worry too much about pumping. For my #1, I did'nt pump at all in the 1st month as it was too tiring plus he was nursing every 1 1/2 hours.

One thing about buying Medela from overseas. The electrical plug may not be appropriate for Singapore. The price difference for PIS between Singapore and US is also quite large but I didn't buy from US as I was afraid the electrical current is not matching.

wah, your boy must be very guai for you to consider letting them be alone together while you do your stuff. My elder boy was born Jul 07, I can't even let them be together for 1 second without supervising. He will climb up the cot and jerk the rocker (very hard, not rock leh). He doesn't know how to handle the baby at all and is very "chor lor". i have to watch him very closely when he is near the baby as he may just accidently kick her or knock against her. And he climbs up and down all the time, I can't even let him be alone for a short while, not to mention let him be with the mei mei.

Oooh. so that's why you're in NZ... *kaypoh mission complete*
I'm a SAHM. Probably will be so for quite a few more years. I'm jumpy about putting my kids in childcare.

Fwah! You also lose weight very fast hor?
Same like you, I lose ard half the weight gained within the first 3-4 days of delivering. But then I kenna stuck with the last 2-3kg leh!
Last time like that with J, now also like that with K! I hope this last 2-3kg will go away soon!!

My boy's born in June 2007, just 2mths younger than yours. Sounds like appropriate playdate leh!
But we live in Boon Keng, which is not exactly near to Dover. :p
Your ambitious project doesn't sound too far-fetched lah. The only problem may only be for them both to sit still long enough so you can have a shower!

ooo dear
bb poo must have at least 5 poo...
my gal only have average 1.5 poo every alternate day 90% bm...
die dunno what happen to her.. suppose bm should poo very often but this gal dun wonder if she had enuff feed or not but her weight indeed got increase!!! ..
maybe due to that 10% formula...

*mama to 6Js*
seriously...think the day we haf kids...our life has never been 'normal'...i mean never been the same...

yup i am eating v well during the confinement mth...so i want bb to share this 'goodness' too while i can...

oh ya any reliable maid agency to recommend or gd maid to transfer??

RE: MAID AGENCY
those mommies wif maid, mind to share which agency u get ur maid fr??

*mamijoan*
maid is the last resort. I hope i can do without one too. bt due to the current situation, think i really nid to haf one to keep myself sane...I am the type who want things to be done in my own way. though i am nt the abusive and bad tempered kind, i am still afraid i might end up in the newspaper headline for maid abusing, haha..juz kidding...well...

p/s: oh ya agree tat we haf to keep an eye on the kids constantly...even when they r already nt so dependant. my 3yo fell off the bed a wk plus ago. quite serious...so brought her to KK. fr the x-ray, shows tat there's a crack line on her shoulder! anyway nothing can be done bt to wait for it to heal on it's own which take abt half a yr. bt able to resume normal activities in a mth.

*shelled*
haha..ok..thanks for the assurance...juz hoping mommies dun condemn mommies like us who can't TBF their baby and oso our reasons appear to be excuses to them...

think life will definitely be more busy with a newborned...u haf to feed them and feeding already take up a large portion of our time...for me, i think when they can feed themselves using btl, it's when we can slowly begin to catch a breather. when the kids turn in, other than 'clean here clean there', i'll try to surf the net or simply watch tv...wah...like big deals! simple things which many can do, bt to sahm like me, these seems like 'luxurious activities', haha..

*twiggy*
thks for the encouragement

i can imagine myself glowing in pride *dreaming*...haha..bt hor, back to reality, it's really a handful nw...

Woah seems like some mummies can shed off the weight fast leh... 16days I oni lost 5kg - I still have 11kg to go. how u all slim dwn so fast huh - can share some tips?

Finally need nt take care of baby's feeding in the night. My maid will slp wif baby and #2 will slp wif me. Exchange role but just tat she can't produce milk Keke. But I still need wake up 3hrs interval for pump.

oh my, your 3yo's fall sounds bad. And what a time to happen too. Must have been quite chaotic for the family. My maid agent is really lousy so I can't recommend to you. My maid is not great, but at least the house is quite clean and there is an extra pair of hands to help me carry things around. I'm also the sort who need things to be done my way (actually I'm ok as long as she does things with common sense, but she doesn't) so it is quite difficult to live with a maid. But since I cannot do without a helper for now, I just try to live with it. I just pray she doesn't give me trouble like stealing or bringing friends home then I'll just learn to live with her for the time being until I'm more settled down. The other day, she tried to be smart and argue with me over certain MOM regulations. I gave her a good dressing down. She should know better than to irritate a post natal woman.

Yes, I agree that surfing net and watching TV is a luxury for a mummy who doesn't have help.

this is thread where we support one another and learn from each other, not one where we judge one another whether u do tbf or whether u did natural delivery w/wo epi not. everybody's circumstances is different lor so dun worry abt it!

RE: MAIDS
i think i hv come to a point where maids r indispensable! but i must say that good maids r hard to come by and if ur maid is good, they r a good help, if they r not good, they r really a hindrance and u feel like u have extra kid to look after! so far i been blessed with great maids, i really cant live wo them!

Aiyo, i think i gave the wrong impression to you liao lah.
The only thing that gets to me about BF/FM is that I have encountered many mommies who SAY they wanna TBF for how long how long, but once they have problems like engorgement/latching/supply then they just easily give up.
It just seems like they only say they wanna TBF but they didn't really mean it. So easily just give up, and never persevere to overcome the problems at all.
If we say it, then we must do it, right? Otherwise how to set good example for our children in future??

I also feel it gets easier once they turn ard 6 mths old.
By then we already help them establish good sleep routine, and already built up good rapport liao. Can agar agar know what they want even if they don't know how to say it.

Nowadays I also feel if can sit on the sofa for 30mins and don't move at all, is damn shiok liao lah!
lol.gif

When I wanna post in forum, I have to draft my post in a text file, then always end up kenna disturb, then only post my reply a few hrs later lor!

happykae
I think a lot of it is actually the weight of bb + water + placenta, etc. So naturally will drop many kg shortly after birth?
As for the "stubborn" weight that refuse to come off within the 1st mth, it's probably fats that we gain during pregnancy.
