hi mummy ,
I need some advise , yesterday my boy have fever and my MIL bring him to normal GP . after my boy eat the medicine , he have some side effect like rashes and make the eyebag is red & swollen .
MIL call the doc say it is normal as is like detox him and the rashes and the eyebag red and swollen is normal also . I dunno is it the doc is telling the true , kind of worry .
Anyone have like my case ?after medic for bb have rashes and eyebag red and swollen ?

mattea & keona aft kindermusik? lala~ been to couple of trials (normally with the rest)... recently started to try the indoor playgrounds (but been sick, so no playgrounds!)... mostly jump, run, dive, play, share, fight, create mess, do watever at hm!!!
tink my girls.. r the only 2.. like, doing nonsense tings at hm, not being read to..watever. ok, to be fair, my mum do on some hi5 or barney dvds for them.. i dun read to them, not my mum.. nonsense tings they do.. play with buckets (wear like hat), tear papers (throw into one of their toys which will 'blow' all the papers out..they will be so excited, they try to pick, but after few pcs, maid will hfta clean after them! -sigh!!!), paste stickers all over walls, then peel them out, paste on cabinets, n my rm door..n even floor!!), haiya..i tink everyday too many patterns le. recently, they like to climb onto our bed, tuck themselves into our pillow n under the quilt..n close eyes pretend sleep..then the other will like put the finger over mouth n said "hush" (of cos not pronouncing correctly de!)..... these days too, they like to say "hug", "hi" (which actually wana mean hi-five)..followed by a kiss..like when saying gdbye...before sleep, n even before wash bumbum aft poopoo! (smtimes make ppl so boh eng..wana clean up or settle tings liao.. hug, hi-five, kiss...non-stop!) *sigh* they like to walk ard with their arms fold n rested on their waist/back.. like doing inspection...there was once, hb & i kept on repeating "attention" n showed that we stand straight with hands by the sides (frm the inspection position)..they tot like quite fun! but nw when we said "attention!", they will go into the 'inspection' position instead! anyways..!!!
well.. juz try to let them hv more fun nw.. bahaha~ they're gona start to face stress in life pretty soon le.. as soon as they start pre-school.. kindy....n all the way liao! scary!!

your boy might hv an allergy to the medicine the doctor gave! (to be fair, it's not the doc's fault to prescribe the med..not knowing the allergy!)... but the doctor is so wrong if he just brush away and said it's normal.
no matter what, he should ask u to quickly go back to let him see.. or to advise u to go KKH.
drug allergy can be mild or major de... pls be careful.
n hope yur son recover fast.

This morning my MIL tell me the eyebag swollen not that swollen .The rashes yesterday gone off after 3hrs .

last time inside the starter kit bag hv this blue kindermusik tshirt.. nw then they r wearing.. haiyo.. wear blue liao..lagi like boy.. then the way they walk so sam seng... hahaha.. so funny!
but i tink with a mum, as sam seng..chor lor..loud..unrefine....like me, oso quite difficult to mould those princessy-lady in them de la! bahahaha~

that's allergy. My boy had that once when he took a med and was told to stop immediately. What detox? B***s***. Go see another dr to get anti histamine. Also find out the name of the drug since u now know he's allergic to it.

I'm not a doctor, but I aws thought that swollen eys is a sign of allergy. Esp if accompanied by rashes all over the body. And I've never heard of doctors saying that meds is for "detox"!
I suggest you bring your child to another doctor for a 2nd opinion. Also stop the medication imemdiately until you're sure it's safe. I don't want to make you panicked but some people are fatally allergic to paracetamol.

my gal also dunno what is danger, she can just walk straight to the downward staircase without holding the railing. really heart attack !!
when we wait at the bus stop for the bus, she keeps wanting to walk towards the step between the pavement and the road. when i hold her back, she'll be angry, bringing her out is so tiring now. she doesn't like to sit the pram too, wants to walk beside the pram with one hand holding on the side.
I just sign up my gal for Zoophonics at Jurong West, starting this saturday. 1 month is $100, if pay 1 term(3months) it's $275. Deposit is $120 plus $30 registration fee.

i find that GP medicine are too strong for babies. 3 weeks ago, i brought my gal to PD for cough, he said the throat is red and prescribed antibiotics. And flumicil for flam, ventolin and cough mixture. After taking for 5 days, my gal was still coughing and still alot of flam.
The cough mixture just made my gal sleep only.
In the end, bring her to PD, use nebulizer, the cough got better immediately. She's still coughing now but much lesser, only at night when it's cold...

i also do funny things with my gal at home, use the plastic food cover (those use on the table type) , put over our heads, and do lion dance. Since cny coming now, then we'll dance together ... "dong dong qiang dong dong qiang"

bean, its a allergy. Brufen is for fever, it doesnt cause detox.
Stop taking it. u can either bring him to see another dr to get anti histamine or if u wanna monitor first, observe it the rash or swelling is getting worse, if eye swollen until small, lethargy, or if worse, has difficulty breathing.
Just to be on safe side, dont let him take brufen next time.
Ask ur mil to give him lots of water to flush it out of his system.
I dont know how long the rash/ swelling will take to go away cos it will depend on him.. but if by tonight or tmrw morning it doesnt subside, bring see dr.

jul:: my girls r very bad-tempered oso de! (juz like the parents!).. they will slam themselves down (face down or face up..whichever they feel like) when they din get wat they want! lie on the floor (n duno-how, but they can make themselves stick onto the floor, cant even carry up de!).. they bite, they smack their head too (like sm bbs here).. n of cos, scream, throw n watnot. their pi qi oso darn big de!!!!

wah sharon, that's a long way of planning.. hehe. prolly by then, there will be even more local unis leh? but i'll say.. juz hoot..if hv, rabbit bb..else, cm by a dragon..but dun worry abt so long into future studies la.

I think can't compare our era with now or even future. I'm one of the 老龙女 here but schooling was pretty normal thing way in the past, not so hung up now (although there's bound to hv some really kiasu parents). Like wat bobo said, just take it as it comes cos prob there will be more schools/unis by then.

ibrufen and paracaetamol can be given concurrently. I do that when the fever doesn't go down after 1-2 hrs and it's still not time up for next dose of fever. I asked the nurses before and they say can do that.

aiya talking abt playgroup.. my girls meant to start full-day sessions on 7 feb mah...the sch called to postpone a week to start on 14 feb.. but den last week..i wrote to sch agn n ask if can postpone or not... hehehe.. suddenly like... cant bear to send them full day there. though im not hm to play with them whole day.. but im sure my mum will feel lost. n she oso say my girls not speaking yet..they wun b able to express if they like sch or not.. like the food there or not.. eat lunch or not (my girls, esp mattea quite picky on food).. kenah bullied or not.. etc..... so.. ya.. which makes me worry oso (though i was arguing with mum over phone..but ya..i took all her points! lol~)
