how long did u try cold turkey? U need to do one week to see effect leh. My SIL did that and by the end of the week, her boy slept thru. They cry lesser as the days go by.

1 week, think by then, i will commit myself to MPH with both the boys screaming!!!!

we tried it for 1 night - and even then, gave in after 2hrs of non stop screaming. after he drink his milk, he went back to sleep peacefully.

btw, re: weight, i think shd leave a buffer cos when they fall sick, or teething, the weight melts off them like no body business.

oh yeah, anyone kids already know how to point body parts? zac just refuse to learn/point. PD says by now they should know.

Strangely Sam doesn't lose weight when he falls sick. I think it coincides with his growth spurts. So he just maintains the weight number, growing taller & skinnier.

Actually if all along Ryan maintains at 25% percentile, it's ok right? it's only when he was 90% then drop to 25%, then something wrong

my gal knows eyes, nose, ears, mouth, hands and feet. Need to teach then they know mah. I was singing the head and shoulders knees and toes dunno how many times. Then gotta keep asking her. When she's happy she will point to me.

She can say quite a few words already and when we do flashcards, she will try to repeat the words. So different from my boy when he was this age. He was totally hopeless.

mine will leak for mamypoko..n dat time.. i bought cartons suring a BP, sai..nw stuck with so many..n it's size L.. so smtimes go out..juz squeeze, n chg regularly lor. i cant rmbr hw drypers pants work tho..i tink i oni had few sample pcs..cant rmbr if already used.

re: pointing to body parts.
my girls oni noe sm of the facial de.. but not like arms, shoulder, knee, etc.
kns, my in-laws came to know that they know abt facial parts, den kept asking them.. kaoz..tink wat, they're monkey arh!! then esp i dun like it abt "nose".. cos my silly girls will poke their fingers into the nostril instead of juz pointing it. can u imagine the amt of germs!!! yiarkz!!!!!!!

i loosely categorised them cos i kena confused by the staff.

those cc who actually waiting for more names to fill up/open a class for that age group.

then there's the other type of waiting list where the class is full, and waiting for other kids to drop out (less chance of getting a place at all)

and those waiting list for next year (2012) intake...cos this yr 2011 is already closed

i repeated so many times to zac, did flashcards of body parts, showed dvd, etc but he just refuse to point/say when asked.

but then, he can fix those peg puzzles accurately. and can do shape sorting.

may i noe hw to cook steam rice arh? hehe. i normally use rice cooker to cook rice. i read sm of u gv bbs eat steam rice, n mentioned it's softer? so it's different frm my rice cooker cooked rice? so hw to steam rice leh?

Sam's the hopeless one now. he cannot be "taught". When u try to read a bk, he flips the pgs or gets up & walks away. If you try to teach him to say a word, he ignores you. When you try to show him a flashcard, he snatches it from you & either throws it, saying "throw", or just waves it ard & mashes it up. He doesn't want to do peg puzzels or shape sorters either. He takes the shape sorter & bangs on it like it's a drum!

I think my MIL will put the rice into a metal container, add water, then put the container into the rice cooker with some water in it. I've never done it before so don't ask me how much water etc haha

Im thinking of putting Nat for half day CC, so she can learn something and also learn to mix around with friends and be more independant.
She is those very sticky type, think will have many days of crying b4 she can adapt..

Im thinking of starting with half day near my mum place...( Kovan ) so she can help with the pick up..but im also open to full day at punggol but that would only be after Ive moved in to my new home...
So now looking around for options and then decide...
My intention is to let her start when she is about 2 yrs old +/-

I'm also thinking abt putting Sam somewhere to learn things, socialise, get some discipline etc. But my ILs are not really for the idea - the sick all the time thing lah. And I dunno if I shd get those that can go all the way up to K2 so that I dun need to look again when it's time for Sam to go to school.. or just stick him somewhere then change schools when it's time to go to nursery.

i was toying w the idea half day CC at Serangoon (my IL place) e difference is $50 only..

so we gonna stick back to his current sch..

u shld be moving in by Apr ler bah...

Baby knowing body parts
My girl know eyes, nose, ear, mouth, tongue, hair, tummy, butt, armpits, toes, neck ... at around month 8/9. Now during shower, we ask her to shampoo her hair, n she will action action her fingers on her head. Rub rub her tummy, shampoo her neck...
Now she knows when Ah Mah sits on the sofa, she will take newspaper and glasses for her. She knows to point at my hb's belt and says "bel". Guess we just hv to talk to the baby more, their absorption is really fast.

shayna is 87cm, yesterday weigh at GP 11.3kg..

body parts: shayna recently got a new habit, she likes to hit on her tummy and hear the sound that it produces, esp on a empty stomach!

I dun think it's a matter of talking to them. It's their own learning capability. My boy started talking only at 2.5yrs old. So slow.

my gal picks up so quickly. She repeats the words after us. My boy never did that before. Now she can go through her book and say apple, duck, banana already. My boy at her age was still babbling. Dun even know how to call us.

I realise that as parents, we can only do so much. The rest is largely up to them. If they pick up good, if not also no choice.

mashy, few weeks ago, I let my girl play with the candy container Eclispe (cant remember if this spelling, it's a metal container). She play play then came back to me one hand holding the container n the other hand with a candy. I jumped out of the sofa, shocked (didnt expect her to know how to open the container). I took the candy from her fingers n raised my voice asking her, did you drop any more candies anywhere? Where did you open the container? She pull my hand n brought me to the playpan, then she bent down to search something below the playpan. I bent down n see another candy there. I wonder how she understands my questions cos I spoke very nervous n very fast. So I conclude that they actually understand when we talk more to them, heehee.... (Oh, I also asked if she put any candies into her mouth, she opened her mouth to show me n shook her head)
