Hubs wore specs from very young age. Everyone in his family including father, uncles, cousins all wear specs! So.. I think very hard for Sam to escape.

How much did you all pay for your travel insurance to Japan & frm which company? I bought from AIA, $120 for the 3 of us. Can claim up to 7 days from the day we return. Wan to compare the prices for different companies so that my next trip to Japan can buy. hehe. Now already thinking when to go again.

gosh am so tired this morning.. am trainign shayna to get to sleep on her own (without magmag) and in her cot.. she toss and turn until 12plus... suddenly when i thought she sleeping liao she sat up and shouted "har lo!" at me and giggled... peng... then the tosing and turning started all over again.. hahaha..

Zen, i paid $103 from NTUC. Classic plan also can claim medical expenses up to 7 days return from trip. NTUC svc not bad.

Anyone heard of this condition ? My niece went to KKH for follow up as she has been having fever for 7 days..my sil says need to go for blood test..they did an xray on her and found out that her heart is on the opp side..norm is on our left side but hers is on the right side!!
Anyone heard of this ? Any dangers with his ?

Ovann is the opposite now .. all the while he sleeps in his cot but recently he's been wanting to 'kuay sio' with us on our bed. I dun really like it cos ours is queen size bed and it's really squeezy for 3 people to sleep. But really boh bian, esp in the middle of the nite if he wakes up, he'll want to sleep on our bed. Just last nite he woke up 3 times again .. the 1st 2 times still ok cos he's pacifier dropped, so just give it to him and he goes back to sleep. The 3rd time he seems to be alittle awake liao and insisted on sleeping with us. Hiaz .. panda eyes ...

i heard frm an ex-colleague before (her nephew oso has this condition), that this defect not really life threatening de...good thing that it's detacted early. if i remember correctly, the person will hv owas hv sinus and duno-wat prob...... so don't worry too much! generally, still can lead a normal lifestyle.

anyhow, this is only thru word of mouth..(i hear-say only).....im sure the doctors at KKH wld be able to advise the family clearly de.

I've heard of it before - in some silly gongfu show, I think. I thought it was just fiction! But I think shd be no prob right? Just diff location but everything can function normally, I think? Don't worry so much. Just find it odd that the PD who attended ur niece after birth din detect it & that none of the doctors who saw her over the yrs noticed?

Haha coz I've been to Japan twice - and it's the same place. If Hubs is gog to work there, then we'll just pop over & join him. But if it's a 'purpose' trip, then maybe not liao

pegs: i also dont like shayna to sleep on our bed.. cos i so scared my husband will roll over her! he's a heavy sleeper, nothing can wake him up..

then when shayna sleeps with her hands and legs spread out wide, she takes up a lot of space, i cant move my husband who is like a log, so poor me sleeps on my side, at the edge of the bed. i wake up aching ah! so shayna must sleep in her own bed lor.. now when she wakes up i'll just say "i'm here." and she'll lie back down to sleep..

dolce: huh.. oh dear. i've heard of the condition b4 but dunno of the effects on life.

Precisely, my sil n me have the same tots..and this doc found it when he is listening to her heart beat n realise hw come its the other side that is beating more strongly...How come previoulsy PD and other doc didnt realise it ???

We've never heard of this b4 thus find it strange and alarming...More reassured that this is not that rare and you guys have actually heard of it.
KKH is making apptm with their heart specialist on behalf. Say better to do a more detailed check just to make sure everything is ok...
But meantime wana find out more abt it
 
as long as the valves are appropriately reverse too i guess should be ok bah.

dolce:: hw old is your niece now? duno..gvg the benefit of doubt...prolly when the child is younger, the body n chest is smaller, n when wana hear the heart beat.. even placing the wat t...scope tingy in the middle of the chest of nearer to either side, also can hear mah... but when we get older, n grow bigger, than different liao... if hear frm far right might not hear correctly.. or in the special case, if hear frm far left den the beat will sound faint..then the difference?!? duno.. anyhw analyse la.

but at least nw detact...so it's a blessing le (rather than those undetacted at all.) n to think on the brighter side oso..to tink that all along din detact, cos the heart has been pumping n beating per norm mah..(like babyS said, the valves n all of proportional size n placings..)... so ya, dun worry too much.. the doctors n specialists will make sure everything is alright de.

My niece is coming 26 mths ( 2 yr+ )..

Ya lor at least detect now so gotta wait to see specialist and see his diagnose...but my sil was saying its a nightmare to let her do xray cos gotta keep still and she is scare to be by herself lying there, my bil has to be pressing her down to keep still...

Oh yeah I can imagine. I dunno what to do if Sam needs an xray. He bawls like he's being tortured at the PD's. Even putting him down on the mat for exam is a challenge

we got from msig. 78.40 for 4 of us, 9 days. The children enjoys free coverage. It covers local med till 72 hrs after we come back.

I always watch on tv that a char got shot and thot going to die. End up heart on the right side so didn't die. Hahaha. That's all I know abt heart on the right.

of cos to compare to u all breastfeeding supply..of cos like nothing lar...but ya, still not very comfy abt it as it's like my 1st 1-2mths...n for so many kuku-mths..nothing at all mah!!!

grrrrrrrrrrrr~ angry!! i wana send my 2nd maid off... cant stand her anymore!!!! n no one else in the family can stand her oso! mistakes mistakes mistakes n no common sense! she's with me abt 5mths..n i juz received the letter frm MOM for her 6ME.. den i called the agency n asked if i wana send her off..do i still need to send the maid for the ME... they said yes! D*MN!! dun wan her liao still need to waste $$ bring her go ME!!!

anyone has any idea or not arh? do i really really really need to send her for ME although i dun intend to keep her anymore? if she still has loan outstanding, n if i din bring her for ME..does it mean her WP will be revoked..n means i wun be able to get the balance loan refunded back?

anyone has experience or advise?

If u want send her back, dun need do ME but think u only have like 1mth for u to send her back...it shld b written on ME letter, the last date to send her back
If got outstanding loan, then her family need send her money to pay back first before she can go back
Else u send her back to agency then when she get new employer then can cont to service her loan
 
bobo, before you transfer the maid, you need to do the ME. Take it as a small investment so that you can have her transferred ASAP. But if u wanna send her home, then no need ME, but then send her home bo hua leh cos you still have to pay air tix! So best is to transfer her out.

dolce, I hope all will be well with your niece. I can imagine the anxiety your family is going through.

im ok not to fly her hm.. let her sit in agency n wait for next (suay) employer to take her..... although i still need to pay the levy for the next duno-how-many-days... but ya, i very bu shuang hfta pay the $30+ for her ME la!

My fren got back to me liao.

She went for ultrasound, physical check by doctor, ultrasound again... But the doc said it was very symmetrical lumps in both boobs. The milk in the blocked ducts would be absorbed by the body in time. And said there shdn't be any problem at all. So my fren nvr did the poke boobs thing.
 
bobo, ya I also heard its $10 a day while she sits at the agency to pay for her lodging/food etc. Alternative is to keep her at home till she gets a new employer (like that can save the $10/day).

I vaguely rem the agency told me that the employer also has to pay $10/day & the maid pays $15/day till the transfer.

You need to check if u can get a 2nd maid befoe she gets transfered too. Coz for my case, only 1 kid, no old folks living with me, so if I try to transfer my maid, I'll have to wait till she goes off b4 I can get another.

But u have twins, so not too sure..

Er.. but I think we shd take into consideration that if the maid already knows we wanna transfer her, it may not be advisable to leave her at home coz she may get up to something?

How do I get her not to overstep her boundaries?

I can bear with the slowness, non-auto mode, forgetfulness, but I hate it when she tries to squeeze me out!

When Sam cries or is throwing a tantrum, she aws wants to interfere. She aws offering to carry him when I'm doing so, even tho I spend so little time with him now that I'm back at work.

On good days, I'll think she's just trying to be helpful. But on other days, I find her so irritating! I suppose I shd be grateful she likes Sam, but... I'm the mummy! And one whose son doesn't seem to care for her much!
 
jul, I didn't know that the maid has to pay $15/day.... but can we dun tell the maid she is gonna be transferred until the agency confirm someone else wants her, and comes to pick her up? But I think even then she may still have to sit at the agency a few days while the paperwork is being done... its all very complex...
 
yeah i heard also, must pay for their lodging when they are in the agency waiting for a new employer.

Jul: how about telling her, when u are with him, she doesnt need to help unless u ask her too or she sees an emergency..

I think the $15/day is to penalise them so that they don't demand to go back to the agent on a whim & fancy.

But usually the prospective employer gets to interview her right? How not to let her in on the secret? I did interview all the potential transfer maids sitting at the agency.
