How you tell that bb got bronchiolitis? my boy had been having phelgmy cough for 1+ week already..

this morning his running nose is abit yellowish.

I bought him to PD on thurs and she gave 10 days medicine...

My MIL bot clothes for my gal but is more on wear at home de..not i "hiam" jz i find her bo sim to buy one la..cos top & bottom not matching one haha..yes, the size is damn big..

Goh, or ur bb teething instead cos tis stage bb usually fuss alot due to teething...

Daph, my fren's son had tis undescended testicles..but she oli realised when he's 3rys old..so dr said nothing can be done ( as in some physio theraphy like massage can push the testicles down if realised when bb is young)so his son hv to do a minor surgery (day surgery) to adjust.

i din know too, till i brought him to kkh A&E after taking his PD medicine for 5days and not abit of recovering.... then doc say he got wheezing and took x-rays of his lungs too.. then say alot of phelgm in his lungs or somewhere, 4get where so got to use the neubiliser..
think u got to see whether he got any wheezing if not wrong.. if taking the medicine for a few days and not recovering, then better go 4 another check..

ya loh.. HB got to stay there overnite to accompany him coz they put him in the children's ward then surrounded by alot of bigger kids and adults.. afraid of itchy hands go disturb him coz he so small, dunno how to say also.. then i nit to pump, not very convenient..
normally PD will give the mask type.. saw my friend's son use too.. rent from the PD?

bbja, yes rent from PD the machine, the mask and tubes buy separately. Think machine one day $10 or something. Someone was telling me its more worth it to buy the machine or something since cost only $100+. But I dun want to buy lah, cos its like "cursing" the kids that they will need it again!!!

Ya I stayed in hospital together with my girl when she was baby (2 mths old), really not a very condusive place.

kiki, brocholitis is when phlgem travels down to the lungs. Usually determined through an x ray or the PD can hear wheezing sounds in the lungs. If he dun recover after the med, bring him to PD again. Isaac saw the doc a couple of times, but didn't get well, then the 3rd time he went, PD says can hear the phlgem inside lungs, so have to use the nebuliser thingee to treat and take antibiotics.

mashy, how do we know the bb has undescended testicles?

donkeymami, think older generation the taste not so good, a few times my MIL buy clothes for my girls, but really not so nice lor, and not cheap, so I tell her nicely dun buy anymore. In the end, she jus give me money and tell me to buy on her behalf cos I know how to buy from BP and sprees so cheaper.

My gal also suffer from Bronchiolitis when she was 7 wks old. Was hospitalised for 3 days to monitor. She was been put on neubiliser every 6 hrs to clear his lungs and nurse also suck out the phelgm fm the mouth....

Like baby ja we only realised that she suffer from Bronchiolitis when we send her to kkh a&amp;e cos she was breathless. Actually Bronchiolitis is caused by virus. They have 2 types of virus. 1 is v common while the other is quite serious...

Heard is v common for baby to get it when they are below 2 yrs old..

they din suck the phelgm from his mouth.. oni gave him some medicine to dissolve it..

this round my boy sick with runny nose, i got to suck the mucus from his nose then can put the nose drop.... haiz...

By the way, wanna share some freak incident... my mum insisted some brown rice mixed with some chinese herbs which she fed to the baby she babysitting and was fine... and she insisted on my bb gal.. now her face is all lip-sausage swollen and red. and that is just 1 feed only *cries

you very daring... I dont think i will dare to suck out his mucus leh. My mum told me is the best way to clear it.
So far i am using the saline spray when i see his nose too "loaded"

Cos she is only 7 wks old and alot of medicine she cant take. And her phelgm was v bad so have to suck out if not she totally unable to sleep. There is 1 nite the nurse suck 3 times.. So poor thing. Initially she kept crying after a while she was immune liao never cry.

We totally don't know about this. I was so sad when she was been asked to admit. Both my hb and me stay there with her... Actually e sis pass the virus to her..

Oh no... Maybe she is allergy to that powder.

I got one colleague even smell peanut can cause her to be breathless, if makan one small bit will be very jialat.

my boy has got one undescended testicle. Might need to go for surgery if it still doesn't fall in place by the time he turns one year old. Just thought that so poor thing if need to go for surgery at such young age. Sigh.. Maybe because he's 3 weeks premature, that's why. I dunno.

So now bb is already 6 months old but ball ball still haven't drop.

that was before we know her weight of 9.1kg at 6mths. *shocks. My mum, as the typical caring granny feels that she looks skinny. *how can it be when I already have back pain carrying/bathing her? lol.

So she insisted this brown rice with 2 types of chinese herbs for her to drink so she can 'fatten' up. and she said we grow up drinking that too. And now gg back to my HB history, he has history of sensitive skin/allergies towards certain drugs. seriously am worried she will be allergic to dog fur. *crossing fingers.

And the next part of the story is that she 'merlioned' everything out. Everything. Huge mess and she cried nonstop. The granny super embarrassed ask me faster go home and wash her up. That's a good thing cos somehow her sausage lips became back to normal after an hour and she sleep soundly. The only worrying thing is that she has not pass motion yet. Tml will see what PD say..

Yeah I think its really difficult not to pass the virus cos you've got another kid. During HINI period, my HB quarantine himself after his trip back at his mum place before staying with us.

Its chinese herbs used in soups and apparently she's been using this method to feed the 5of us and the baby she babysitting and all of us turn out fine. *lucky la. Now that I know she is super sensitive, now I can only say that she will go slow on new things; like fruits. try abit and see got reaction.

PD advised me of the prob when bb was born. If ur bb has this prob PD will tell u. Or if u wanna check, boys should have two 'balls'. Mine only has it on one
side, the other side don't have, cause haven't descend.
 
Gin, oh dear..poor gal..tmr sun ur PD got open or not? if not go A&amp;E liao..u monitor her temp also.

True. So what i do now is when #1 is sick will let #2 stay at my mum's place. Separate them. Think this is the only choice cos #1 like to go v near #2 even she stop her..

my bb also taking si sen brown rice but those prepacked ones sold at ntuc. So far he's ok. Unless ur darling is sensitive towards some ingredients.

Jumperoo. The jumperoo arrives today. First attempt, baby looks blur. Second attempt, baby loves it a lot. Laughing n jumping for 15 mins then legs tired start to cry... very funny.

Babies fall sick. Seems like a few babies r sick now, wish them full recovery soon.

My gal 2 more day 6th month already, as cny coming, sure a lot of mandarin orange at home, my gal been feeding the mandarin orange juice by my father, dunno should i stop him to do so or not..anyone experience this?
 
tired.. sam's been very cranky n fussy these few days

he doesn't wanna take his am nap, fusses n takes a shorter after bath nap, fusses n can't nap properly in the pm... n he cannot sit in his rocker for long. will start whining n fussing till i pick him up. then he goes n pukes after flipping n back crawling n swiping his hands in his puke.

argh! y ah?????
 
avent bpa free bottles

anyone knows if other teats can fit onto avent bottles? i dun quite like the look of the avent teats - got funny diagonal grooves/lines. why ah?

what's the diff b/w the brownish n the milky bottles? looks the same, both bpa free, but the brownish ones r so much more expensive

pigeon teat can fit in to avent bottle..
no diff just BPA free, and in fact the brown one leaks a lot so i am still using the non-bpa free ones.. of course i found a way online to make the bottles not leak, but havent tried the bpa free one since then..

thanks! i happen to have 3x 300ml n 2 x 200ml pigeon wide neck bottles. dunno whether to get the pigeon wide neck peristaltic teats for these.. or to use other brand bottles lor

if feeding only 180-190ml, is it better to use 200ml or 300ml bottles ah? bigger = more air?

hiaz.. so confusing. later gotta go grab bowls, spoons etc to prepare for weaning. next week sam'll be 6mths liao n i haven't done anything! *stressed*

relax. no need so stress. for me, i seldom upgrade de bottle. n i usually upgrade to enugh to feed him his milk can le. but u intend to up his 180-190ml feed to more den 200ml soon? if so, den no pt buying the 200ml bottles?? else wasted

I see, well for me i use 260ml avent bottle since Renzo was drinking 150ml.. maybe you are right cuz he always sucks in a lot of air de.

same here Renzo will be 6 months next Friday..

my boy using the avent 260ml bottles too.. after 125ml no more size between this 2 leh.. then will suck in alot air huh.. haiz..
i got the pigeon feeding dish too.. convenient for out..
 


SL, oh no, only 7 weeks and fell so ill... heart pain. Ya very hard to separate them leh... the germs keep circulating from 1 kid to the next...

gin, I fed my eldest one those si sen brown rice before and she also had allergies. So I switched to healthy times and it was fine.

bbja, my PD's advise for babies with sensitive nose and lungs is try not to use air con... cos its drying? But I guess having the humidifier really helps.
