Hello ladies
Have been trying to adjust to bb's routine .. latch, bottle feed, pump .... very siong.
Not sure if i'm doing correctly ... Ovann has slight jaundice so i'm supplementing him with FM aft feeding him my miserly colustrum. Now milk starts to kicks in but supply still not very much, only abt 10ml each feed. So trying to pump to generate supply.
Ovann has a notti habit... he likes to suckle to sleep, and i think was it weishy or mashy has this problem as well rite?
Another problem is that as my nipples are quite big, he wasn't able to suck effectively at the aerola to stimulate milk ... so i'm not sure if he's getting enuf milk when i latch him
Another thing to vent ... just had a heated fight with the crazy mil this morning .. made me so upset and angry

Prev think some mommies were discussing how to clean baby's tongue and using what to clean huh. I glanced thru it but now forgot ler.
Can anyone advise me again?
Btw, are there any mommies who are celebrating the full mth for ur baby during the 7th mth? I will be holding mine from 4pm to 9pm, issit abit too late? What are the things that we can do to "protect" the baby ? Anyone can advise?

yah Zachary latch on all the time. till now i still rarely use bottle. i dont think it is the bottle that cause the white layer on his lips since Zachary also had white layer forming on his lips before.

My stupid mil ... as usual some silly superstitious thing .. said hubby's clothes cannot wash together with mine. I get very anal abt such things de ... why? Confinement is dirty meh? How dirty? Blardy bitch.

Janice, is your baby emptying your breasts at each feed? if so, then it should be ok.
from what i've read, some babies fall asleep before getting the hindmilk so they get hungry faster. if ur baby is emptying your breasts, your supply will soon increase, according to the book. by the way, the book i'm referring to is Babywise.

hi mommies, my baby's tummy kinda of bloated and aft drinking milk, we tired to make him "burp" and then for very long time, he did burp and follow with some vomitting of milk. He also kept crying in the afternoon, maybe feeling uncomfortable and cant sleep, thus keep crying. And his breathing kinda of quite big and hasty can see his chest moving.
Have applied ru yi yu ler..yday and today the same thing happens again.
Dunno if I shld bring him to see doctor tonight..after DH come home.

i also called up polyclinic to check on the pricing. 5in1 is $290.40 and 6in1 is $326.10.

Ovann was drinking abt 60ml for the past few days. Today he emptied 80ml. Sometimes it's so hard to wake him up for his feed ... had to go & ka jiao him to wake him up. Shld i do that? Or let him wake up automatically?

It's painful if he suck only on the nipple. Ovann suck the whole nipple with abit of the aerola and i had to somehow squeeze the aerola area to make the milk come out. And putting in the nipple is a big problem cos have to wait till he opens his mouth real big den can shove the nipple in

i poo either the day when i came home from the hospital or 2 days later. yr Ovann so good can sleep so long. my Ethan wakes up every 1.5-2hours to be feed. my BM ss can't keep up wif his demand. so i was thinking of supplementing him wif FM as i'm starting work next week liao.

it explains in detail why some of us with severe engorgement, after mdm rokiah's massage, our supply increased.
"If severe engorgement is not relieved, the alveoli (milk producing cells at the end of the milk ducts) can become atrophied and may decrease milk production. If the buildup of milk and fluid is not removed, swelling can occur to the point where the milk ducts will actually swell shut, making it much more difficult to get the milk out. Unrelieved engorgement can also lead to plugged ducts and mastitis"

i guess all old ppl are like that de lah. just that ur mil is too extreme. for my mil, she always said panties cannot wash in washing machine (but guy's can). haha i think according to donno what religion, woman during period is dirty. i also find it very stupid. if woman dont have period = cannot give birth = no babies = human extinct!
i feed Zachary on demand. normally he will wake up in 3 - 5 hrs to drink milk. after knowing his schedule, i will wake him up when i see signs of him wanting milk. Sometimes his eyes were closed but can still search for my nipple successfully and then suckle for milk.
when are u going back for check up? tomorrow? dr wong ordered a bottle of medicine (forgot what it is called) for constipation for me and it works. but i didnt took it until dr wong told me to during my check up (day 4).

the dr from poly said 95 is good leh. what i know is if baby by 1 month jaundice level is still above 100, then cannot take 1st mth hep b injection. as long as dr didnt say need phototherapy then should be good enough bah haha.

Zachary's PD assistant gave me a card with the list of vaccination during the 1st check up (day 4). she circle all the compulsory vaccinations to take and explain to us.

who was ur massage lady? Mdm Maz is good but she got tight schedule. You can try calling her, she might be able to do massage for you but if she is not available, u can ask her if she know of anyone mah. I think Mdm Noora is good too (she did postnatal massage for donkeymami).

so long as u feed when ur baby is hungry, then should be ok lah. supply = demand mah. breastfeeding baby gets hungry easier cos breast milk is easier to digest. if not, some of the sites won't be saying to nurse for 6 - 12 times a day lor.

Mdm Rokiah told me that telon oil is better than ru yi oil cos ru yi oil is too hot/strong for baby. then my CL use telon oil (just nice Mdm Maz gave me one bottle) and CL told me that it is really better and get rid of wind more effectively. my CL have 30+ years experience in taking care infants but never heard of telon oil till the other day.
