I have the same problem as you, the pacifier i used was the ones given when i bot the Avent steriliser. The frame is too big and my gal's nose and chin becomes red when she sucks, yesterday i got her 2 new ones, which are much better, the center frame is curve out so it doesn't hit her nose or chin when she sucks, maybe you can try that

question 1 - truth or myth that pacifiers causes buck front teeth, my MIL said my SIL had buck teeth and needed braces therefore she forbid me using pacifier for my baby. i had avent but bb didn't really suckle

aircon - i switch on AC occasionally during day time, u can switch it to 26-27degC, its enuf to cool heads down. i had 2 fans, one for bb & one for the room to circulate air between 8am to 5pm. 25degC during the night even though we used to turn on 23 before bb arrive. surprisingly hubby cannot stand cold now while i'm the one who keeps out of comforter due to the heaty stuff from confinement food.

that's what alot of people said about pacifier...but i let my gal suck for comfort, she will spit it out before she sleep, so i'm ok with that..and also sometimes she doesn't want to suckle when she is hungry and we want to buy time to make milk for her..she will spit it out and gets very angry cos there's no milk. I guess nowadays bbs are smart, we can't fool them

I haven't done my massage yet also cos the massage lady said can only do 3-4 wks after the c-sect, when I'm better. Any1 of you ladies doing massage after c-sect? I'm wondering if it'll hurt the stitches inside

i using my freestyle breastpump yesterday, so fast the soft-fit breast shield crack. Crack liao, then no more suction. end-up, i need to rush down to Mothercare to buy a pair of replacement breastshields.

Yes Avent manual pump. Think it cost less than $100 now. It will depend on your flow leh. If ur flow is fast than it will be faster if not will have to take a long time to pump. But than hand will be v tired using a manual pump that why i get a electric pump this time round.

Just wondering if it is ok for baby to sleep in air-conditioned room. Will it make them accustome to it and in future will have to sleep in air-con room? Cos the confinement lady is saying that the weather is very hot and also i noticed little red spots on the baby's neck and arms (confinement lady said it is heat rash).

I have PND too. I think i was upset partly because of breastfeeding. I had been unable to latch on the baby plus all the other uncertainty. I cried many many times...in front of the massage lady, my confinement lady and even my girlfriend. It definitely feels better to cry it out, but it does not seem to have gone away. Sometimes, i try to hold back the tears. Even typing this message is making me teary.

I have a lot of doubts, not just about breastfeeding but also my role as a mother. How i am going to handle him the next month without any help, will i be a good mother.

Sometimes i have crazy flashing thoughts that i might have hurt the baby by simply the way that i carried him.

Really apologies for this long post, but simply need to air my emotions.

Tks for Mdm Rokiah contact. I have my sessions with her few days ago, and I can say she is very experience with her job. I just finish pumping b4 she came and when she see my breast she told me that I got blockducts problem and she just did light massage and just press breast very lightly, my milk shoot out like fountain. When she did the hotstone compress that make me feel very comfortable and again my milk flows like nobody business. After my sessions I feel my breast was very light. After few days my supply increase by 30ml. Very happy. Tks to you again ya....

babymaking, if u want to increase ur ss, u might want to consider trying supplements like motherlove more milk plus capsules, or fenugreek or mother's milk tea. i tried fenugreek before, no effect. but with the more milk plus, my ss did go up quite a bit. now am TBF my bb, storing 1-2 bottles a day and giving ebm to my #1. before i took the more milk plus, i was struggling to meet my bb's demands too, and this was despite pumping after every latching session.

Reira: yes, I sterlised that soft-shields too, becoz it also come into contact wif breastmilk.
u are smart to get an extra pair , juz in case.
Strange, Mothercare dun sell the soft-shield, so i bot the full-plastic shields, it work just as well.

Jaundice

The reason breastfeeding will cause Jaundice lvl going up is BM contains a hormone that slows the breakdown of bilirubin, but this is temporary as the liver matures and copes with it. Your PD will advise you on whether you need to reduce breastfeeding temporarily.

bought a big tin of Nan Ha (coz can't find any smaller) to give my gal coz she's still looking so jaundiced. But she vomitted the milk the 2 rounds i fed her, and refused it after that. So now all wasted and have to put her back to BM. sigh....

I dun hv enuf BM so supplement her wif formula since discharge so nw she can take BM &amp; formula, bottlefeed or latch direct..no prob for her.

1 to 2 wk = 60 to 90 ml (6 to 7 feeding)
2 to 4 wk = 90 to 120 ml (5 to 6 feeding)
1 to 2 mth = 120 to 150ml (5 feeds)
2 to 3 mth = 180 ml (5 feeds)

I read somewhere that to introduce new FM, got to mix with previous FM and slowly introduce to bb, but anyone knows what's the proportion of previous and NEW FM to mix?

Eg normal feed is 90ml = 3 scoops
Then to introduce new FM = is it 2 scoops old FM + 1 scoop new FM? for how many feeds/days..before all 3 scoops are new FM?

eh am i making sense?

I just had my session with Mdm Rokiah. It was great. When I pump my supply always v little but than when she massage for me the milk is flowing like nobody business and she was saying I doing facial at the same time. So much milk wasted. After the session my breast is light and soft now.. Feeling more comfortable. How the milk supply will increase after this session…..

The above mentioned of the mixing of the FM is ok.... I'm also doing that when my #1 is changing the FM fm 1 stage to another for wk 1.
Than for wk 2, 1 scoops of old FM + 2 scoops of new FM. Than Wk 3 totally on new FM.
