i heard the forehead one is not accurate.not quite sure.. i am curently using the basal thermometer for edna under her armpit when needed.. a bit ma fan but still oki.. so wait for sale then buy.. i rem last yr some 1 bout it for like 70 bucks?

Hi mummies,

Anyone has recommendations for yummy and cute birthday cake? Now racking brains over my boy's birthday in 2 weeks' time...
sad.gif

I got the Braun ear thermometer. It's very convinient and fast. but my PD said don't use it, because it's not acurate at all (although it's better then the forehead one). just get the usual conventional thermometer that you can stick under the armpit.

Heh! I also have a forehead - dunno what lousy brand, that's why I want to get a Braun one. My friend who is studying to be a nurse in the US said that to use the forehead one correctly, we must actually aim for a vein, it's not just anyhow point and click.

Hi,

Sorry to disturb, but am urgently searching for lots of Enfapro A+ for my baby..

If you've stocked up any and would like to let go, pls pm me the price, expiry date and collection pt?

Thanks so much & appreciate lots..

Happy 1st birthday to Stacia, Joie, Charlotte, Naomi, Javier, Darius, Elisha and other babies born this week last year!

HBB,
hahaha, my turn to have aching back. My posture not that good when carrying MR, finally gave way and back started to ach all of a sudden. Had to go tui na yesterday =p. Feel so crappy today. Sigh. monday blues

lamagier
oh dear... now your turn. i also sprained my back the wk before while carrying amanda. imagine i can hurt it while carying a 7kg only... so u really hv to be extra be careful.
happy.gif
put on ko yoke for a couple of days n finally ok liao.

mummies
anyone knows the quality difference btw Drypers vs Huggies Dry vs Huggies Dry Comfort?
my girl is using Petpet and she's very prone to diaper rash especially if we overlooked n forgot to change her quick enuf after her poo. already slapped on desitin regligiously but doesnt seem to work well recently. now she has broken skin.
is this due to diaper?

hv put her on cloth diapers when i'm at home.

bbethan
it could b due to the diaper..or her skin sensitive? try changing to at least drypers brand?
i am v lazy in changing edna... now she get about 4 diaper chg a day sometimes 3 if we r out.. if we r out we use pampers.. at home use dryper.
buy this ointment 'aze ointment zinx oxide 10%' its for diaper rash. i got it fr dr cheng bk then when she LS at bintan and hav bad rash..works quite ok.. can buy fr any pharmacy i tink i gt a new tube if u wan i can pass u too =)

lamagier
aiyo u better take care
ur MR is way too heavy!!!!!
if edna is her weight i tink i realy need to sit in her stroller instead

hbb
drypers not rough meh?
all along, i thought it's very rough and harder than petpet, so never dare to try on her sensitive butt. she has tried from drapolene to california baby to dr lily aloevera to finally desitin which seems to be the best so far until recently.

bbethan,
I don't use Drypers so can't comment.
Huggies dry (blue colour) cannot take as much pee as huggies dry comfort (red colour). And THe cutting a bit diff. I get poop leak with the Huggies dry, but very seldom with the Huggies dry comfort.

If you need, below is contact for one of the BP for Huggies diapers.

HBB,
Haha, I must train MR to walk more.... Else carry her is like going for weight training

hi all,
is been a while sincei last log in here.. been real busy wif my boi... just finished his birthday last sat... is realli tiring to handle 2 kids at one go.

saw dat a few mummies r planning to buy thermometer.. find earlobe is more accurate than the forehead.

Hi Mums,
Any recommendations for good sippy cups? My boy's currently using the Magmag straw cup but I'm wondering if I should get him to learn to drink from a sippy cup instead, may make transitioning to a 'normal' cup easier when he's older? I have one from Munchkin but he tends to chew on the spout instead of actually drinking... Any tips?

dear mummies,
My boy have 2 big teeth upper n lower, however i still feed him with cereal n porridge with potatoes/carrots/pumkin/sweet potatoes/apples etc. not really dare to feed him minced meat... too much fish will hypo active?
Any mummies feed meat already?

Mandy
my gal also has 4 teeth only. Already fed minced pork, cut tenderloin, fish, chicken, beef. No prob eating. She chews with her gums.

Thank u, lamagier!

MR's big 1 soon! Take care of your back.. mine is breaking too! especially these few days I carried Stacia a lot hehehe..

Mommies,
Any changes in your babies' sleeping pattern? Mine has been upside down.. she sleeps more during daytime & wake up to play @midnite
sad.gif
Yesterday had breakfast at almost @11am, lunch @4pm & ended up skipping dinner as she fussed ard 9pm so gotta go to bed.. but but woke up at 12plus midnite & kept wanting to play & dunno how at 1.30am, pooped all over her body (too big & loose diaper plus she couldn't stop moving I think).. so gotta take midnite shower & she loved it.. keep laughing & laughing inside her tub.. we're all so zonked out!
sad.gif
What a great goodie bag she gave to mommy! A leaked diaper full of poops! Well, anyone's baby like this here as 2 of my frens with older kids, passed thru same stage when they're babies ard 15-18mths.. I hope it's just a passing phase..

Lamagier, Bbethan
I can pass you some Yunnan Baiyao Plaster which we buy from China - not avail here in SG. It is really effective - I often have backaches and have tried many of those koi yoke here but the relief is quite short-lived. Let me know?

Happy 1st Birthday to all our little friends - how time flies, and I can say for my son - what a wonderful year it has been
happy.gif
He has made so many new friends and learnt so much from each of them. To many more birthdays to come!!

Since I got back from US, have not the chance to catch up much with anyone, not even my kids, coz I have been nursing a horrible cold! Been sleeping it off (hopefully) so I can be in the pink of health to start attending parties - hehehe...

Linsu
Anyone new in S's life or any unusual event? I read somewhere before a change in sleeping pattern is usually triggered by someone or something new/unusual in the baby's life. Midnight shower - mind she didn't catch a cold! But that must indeed be fun

Mandy
I also feed my son minced meat - fish, beef, pork, mutton and chicken. Usually add vegetables too.

Sunnyduck
I thought sippy cups are stage 2 while straw cups are stage 3. If your boy is already on straw cups, and you give him sippy cups, isn't that regressing? Anyway I am using the Pigeon straw cup for my son.

Thermometer
Using the Braun ear thermometer which I think is good enough for us.

Thanks jerene. =)
I was figuring out how to tell sunnyduck about the cups too... heee.. and yah i using pigeon n combi straw cup for my son.=)

FOZ,

if not wrong i remember seeing Yunan bai yao plaster at the TMC at Alexandra Hospital.. eh.. Beijing Tong Ren Tang....

I like that plaster too esp when come to aches.. but if lactaing i think most of these paster cannot use..

my turn to headache for party.. finding suitable part favors for the kids who are coming..

anyone have lobang for supplier for those pencils/ staionary sets?

Sunsweet

I bought a couple of colouring cum sticker books for $1 each at tan quee lan st. There are stationary sets there too. They are also selling Thomas the train bubble set. Try bargaining if u r getting more.

RE: sippy cups
Er, I must be getting confused... I was thinking along the lines of training the tots to drink from regular cups like adults, so thought sippy would make the proper transition to that. He can drink from a straw cup, but lately he just enjoys sucking the water but not swallowing it!

linsu
tell mi bout it... edna been v sleepy lately in day time too..weird rite?
i tot the older they get the lesser they sleep? getting up my nerve manz! she is always fussing to sleep! argh

Sunnyduck,

I have this problem with my boy too! He's using the pigeon straw cup and was ok till the past few days, when he just sucks but doesn't swallow and the water ends up all over his bib or clothes.
sad.gif

Also considering training him to drink fr a regular cup... would appreciate any suggestions.

Sunsweet,

Where are u getting ur cake from? Am wondering where to buy a nice cake that also tastes gd and won't burn a big hole in my pocket heh.

CJ,
If you aren't going for a 3D cake, actually I quite enjoy Secret Recipe cakes, they have a variety of sizes for expected pax and their cream cakes aren't so heavy like you'll feel sick from eating it. Standard cakes take 3 days in advance ordering. Some of their 3D cakes is on promo price, and takes 6 days in advance ordering. I didn't get the 3D cakes cos not big enough for my party. My cake for 24-40pax was under $100, and it's a white chocolate macadamia cake, and surprisingly good cake. But, don't get them to write the message for your cake, quite bad.

Been a long while since I come in here. Just celebrated Elisha's first birthday last weekend.
It was quite fun actually but not something I would do every year....burn a big hole in my pocket.

Thanks lamagier for your well wishes.

My girl dun really drink from a straw or sippy cups...she drinks only if i feed her water with a spoon. I am trying to get her to drink from the straw but she just push it away.

And she has only 1.5 teeth, one below and half on top. Whenever we eat, she will like stare at our food hoping we give her some...so funny. She eats almost anything though and hopefully that won't change when she grows up.

Happy birthday to all the July babies..
I need help from mummies here, are u able to share your baby sleeping and feeding pattern for 1 years old..
