Mashy, good saturday!

How did you post the tabulated info for this thread, do you use word or excel?

All 2nd time moms,
In your previous preg experience, was bb earlier than EDD or later? I am praying Yoda will be Jul04, Jun27 or Jul26 (my special numbers)

Madeline, welcome to this thread.

I am going to the Cordlife event at Panpac, hope to see you there, my no. 96774244 (if you want to meet)

Have a good weekend!

Hi Mashy, thanks!

I tried Excel, but the whole file got posted like attachment instead of something sui-sui like yours, how you do that?

Hi Cecelia,
Weighed myself this morning. Total weight gain till now stands at 4kg. Don't worry, I'll catch up with you soon! Wait for me!

I was sitting and stoning on the couch then my husband ask me what's wrong. So I told him I'm contemplating what ways to lose weight... Haha, so he said he will grow fat with me during pregnancy so we lose weight together after bb born. That's my husband's way of consoling humpty dumpty wife....

coolkero
i choose goat milk becos goat milk is easier to digest and absorbed by our body compared to cows milk. same goes for adult body actualy
cos have got a very tough digestive system(think they got 3 or 4 stomach) as compare to goat as such their milk meant for the calves are also produced in such a way whereas goat is jus llike human.. only 1 stomach

also goats milk is good for prevention of illness like asthma, eczema n etc.

its more costly definitely. but i sort of trust goat milk more (im a fresh goat milk drinker fron young also.

some ppl say goat milk got a weird smell.. i dont think so
for babies, i dont think they will be able to differentiate unless they are very use to cow milk from the beginning too

yes can buy from NTUC
a small can aboout $20plus, big one $40plus

Lamagier,

Ha Ha!! That's so healthy gain.. Was planning of going some exercise tomorrow morning. But gotta see can wake up early or not.. Yawn.. :p

Yday just saw my dietician colleague, she going to pop next month. Guess wat, her total wt gain onli 8 kg. I was totally amazed..

LS

hi gals

kimberly
u need to do formatting. i can't type in the format here, coz it'll give an error msg. Click on help below and search under table formatting.

pprincess
it's dangerous to drive with a bb in the car and no car seat! Plus, it's against traffic rules actually. S'pore traffic regulations is that u need to place your child in a car seat till 8yrs old. My SIL got into 2 car accidents, all with the bb inside. Lucky got car seat, else he's gone case liao. Never assume such things won't happen to us. Even for short distance driving. I just came out of sch carpark also kenna very bad accident. Luckily my boy was in sch already.

HBB

My boy is now on the Goat's milk sweeties. He's allergic to dairy products, so has been on Isomil. Now we give him goat's milk sweeties as a supplement since we have weaned him off milk. He doesn't like the milk as much as the sweets though.

Hi cecelia,
Wah... how did she do it..... 8kg...
Haha, I get a feeling that at the rate I am going, I'll hit 8kg before the end of 2nd trimester.... Just hopw won't gain 27kg like my sister.... That's like walking around with 2.5 bags of 10kg rice.... Very very streneous...

helo mummies, too busy to log in yesterday and took me a while to finish the postings.

Had my detailed scan yesterday afternoon, bb was back facing us, didnt want to turn when my gynae shake my tummy.Had to take a walk for 15 min before trying and the position wasnt good either.. but manage to see all limbs, heart, kidney, stomach and partial face. No cleft lip (thank god~), sucking her thumb for a while and sleeping with mouth open..hah..so Gynae said to scan the face again the next round when im down to do the blood test for Gestational diabetes. BB is healthy at 480gm at 22 wks and i only gain 0.4kg within the 2 weeks.

Bbprincess, i love thunder tea rice though im not hakka cos of the veggies i guess. I like the basil chicken with rice at the thunder tea rice stall in Food Republic at Suntec. Is that Hakka dish too?

Was down at the taka fair and bought some small items like mittens, cap, sarong sling and breast pad (seems to be snapped up at fast rate so i just grab one pac, kiasu.. hah). Btw, any mummies using manual pump? I'm intending to use the manual pump during the 1st month and invest in electric once the supply is more stable after confinement. Any recommendation on manual pump? Medala manual pump have both stimulate & pump effect.

Sterliser: Any mummies using Nuk steriliser? Is it easy to descale? How long can it keep the bottles sterilised if kept in it? Cos i like Nuk bottles given that it's cute looking and the teats are closest to nipple feel. Philip avent seems to have difficulties descaling as it's hidden. I'm also considering Pigeon steriliser.

Lamagier,

One of my colleague gain only 8kg too during her pregnancy but she suffered bad MS throughout (couldnt eat)therefore the low weight gain.

There is a pretty stroller that caught my eye at taka fair (brown with polka dots) but it cost $1095! Wun be buying one at the moment, my aunt is giving us one cos too heavy for her to move around with her grandson. For us , we dun mind cos we are investing on a car. Trying to save as much now with handdowns and 2nd hand items.

elijah mummy
I gt someone who cn whole sale e milk powder too n she gave mi cartons if samples to go w it.... I dn mind ur contact hee... see who quote mi lower price nxt time lol

mashy
e pd said if one is allergic to dairy be it cow/goat its aso same one. still get allergic to e pdt. nt sure bout e sweet thou.
e allegies I mentioned r stuff like sinus n etc

HBB

My boy gets eczema from dairy pdts. Anyway, he didn't take the goat's milk long enough to test it out. And the sweets, we didn't give him as much too.

HBB

ya man. When my boy was a bb, I thought it was heat rash from drinking formula milk. Then it didn't go away for a very long time no matter what cream i put. Someone sugg maybe it's milk allergy and we stopped cow's milk for 1 week. The rashes cleared up after that! So sometimes we really can't assume it's milk rash or heat rash. Must test and see.

Thanks Yan for the welcome...=)

dear mummies.. i went dwn to the Taka fair today too... as im a first timer mummie n dono wad to get or not to get...

in the end, we saw tis package of the milk pump, plus storage bottles, nipples cream and breast pad and the portable milk warmer for 270 and the package of bottle sterilizer with food/milk warmer for 181... and everything(leaving 2 of each) was like totally grabbed off the shelves while im still deciding wad to get and my hubbie jus reachd out and grabbed one of each and bought it...

anw, jus wanna check it out as i see some mummies giving birth at Mount A and their doc is also Dr Douglas Ong?

MrsC
Me & hubby love it too!!! It's APRICA stroller. Very smooth & nice built up compared to Combi (with almost same features). But pricing also very steep lah. Already bought Combi earlier so must forget about it liao

sad.gif

2) I'M TOY FARM BABY COT 28"x52", 3 adjustable level, convertible to bed with 1 side removable (comes with mattress and IM TOY high chair) - $429 (reason for buying: Matching set with the scale! shouldn't it be the other way round??!! haha... no lah, cos felt most sturdy and v.useful 2 pcs set high chair)

Spend almost the entire morning and afternoon shopping for baby stuff in town today (taka, robinsons, isetan, paragon), both of us are dead tired, but somehow if something comes to mind for the baby, we seem to find renewed energy to push on, so funny when I think about it. Went to taka so I can let my hubby check out the strollers and carseats, I said to him if you got problem carrying it and packing it into your car, we can forget it.

Although we have been to the Shunli ind park stroller outlets, somehow the shopping temptation is still stronger in such bright lights. Have to agreed with some of the mummies here, the Robinsons card does give better nicer discounts on the big ticket items. Shortlisted a Graco stroller (outward facing) with infant car seat attachment (baby facing us when mounted)), though my heart strings pull at the similar price-range (<$500) ones such as the Capella (korean) that allows us to adjust the handle in either direction. The ones in the $500-$1k range are so kinda cool in design, got the big wheels that don't get struck in drains, 360deg swivel, full recline, huge shade covers... boy, buying strollers are hard decisions...wanted to buy the baby-safe mattress too, wow at $195, think I kiv for next month's baby spending...

peanut

when i had my #1, i realised that it's really important to get all the dept cards for the discounts. Hhaaha, so applied for them to get all the best deals. Raising a kid is so expensive, so must save & save. I've the cards for the 3 major dept stores: isetan, taka & robinsons. Cannot do without them.

If u like I'm Toy stuff, visit www.kidzloft.com.sg. They've a showroom in Tagore lane and sometimes they have clearance sale for their stuff. Also on you/your friend's kid's 1st birthday, u get 50% storewide sale. Really good deal. can just ask for the birthcert, then go and buy the stuff.

Did buy a toy (for the parents), the Bebesounds Prenatal Gift set, that allows us to listen, talk and play music to the baby in my tummy ($99.90), about $80 after robinsons disc. Comes with heart listener with 2 headsets, music cds (mozart), fetal speakers and microphone, and a recording cable to record the baby sounds.

Other things bought today from taka fair:
Pigeon bottle nipple veg wash (11.12/bot), refills with that (9.90/pk), Pigeon breast pads ($8.90/36pc-box), Pigeon changing mat (11.76), 3 packs of Anakku cotton buds (3 for $5), Pigeon cotton mittens ($1.50), Fallin earbuds - the big head kind ($4.70), and more clothing. Things I bought for myself are the Avent nipplette (don't have a nipple problem presently, but just wanna make sure it'll be easier for breastfeeding), and the breast shields (silicon).

hi gals,

talking about the Taka card, I wonder if I apply the credit card now, will I get the card on time before the baby fair ends.

If not, could we just apply the cash smart card and pay $15 for the application fee. I believe Cash Smart Card member will have the 10% discount also, rite?

It really could save alot if we are going to buy big ticket items at the baby fair.

http://www.takashimaya-sin.com/cards.html

Hi Jeslyn,

Im douglas ong patient too , delivering at mount A. When is your EDD?

Bought some newborn clothes from JL yesterday , one of the cheapest i can find at $3.50 each for tops. Just a qn for mummies , would it be better to have button down tops with seperates or jumper whole pc for NB? Cos need a lot of care when wearing and taking out whole pc jumper but i saw a gift set at JL that has super sweet whole pc jumper so tempted to buy.

mrsc
i will prefer romper for new born or even older(aft the cord drop off) cos then no need struggle w the pants.. no neeed adjust once a while else will drop or shift place when they move

then again for new born 1st mth always at home.. dun even need to wear pants.. jus pampers n top hee

but new born.. v hard to wear rompers sometimes cos need to wear it over the head.. so depends how confident are u on wearing the clothes over the head.. some mummies scare to lup over =p
