wa.. think i mst have over exert myself over the weekend with all the shopping and walking.. Feeling restless the whole day... jst laying around the house and napping on and off...
Im quite fortunate no need to work for now and face all those music you ladies are facing now with the bosses.. but i think i still prefer to work than stay at home and rely on hubby totally.. But its like impossible to get a job when pregnant and with the economic crisis its not helping either... I resign from my old job thinking of having a short break, didnt know so spot on got pregnant!!! Short break become long break... akakakakakakakakkaa

no leh, my friends use the glass bottles to freeze.
As long as you don't from hot hot bottle put straight into freezer, and icy cold bottle heat up quickly, as long as there are no extreme changes in temperature the glass bottle won't break.
plastic also can crack up if you put it through extreme temperature changes.

i did heard of some mummies telling me that KKH using glass bottle also. but if is glass bottles i dun tink i would wan to ask from them also. as it is quite dangerous to handle and still haf to buy plastic bottles to transfer the milk as cant b feeding the baby wif glass bottles. wad is drop and break? is veri dangerous. thanks for ur kind help btw

ladies - wow looks like a lot of ppl spent lots of money at taka. i also bought my 2 baby cots there. i think cheaper than outside cos got more free gifts. wanted to buy avent bottles too but only 20 % discount. isetan, robosinsons also having 20%, so nothing very special. anyone know how to get more discounts? also, how many bottles are you buying ? i was thinking 12 for my twins. but my colleague who has a singleton says she managed with 2. and some ppl say 3 per baby is enough.

for mw i survived on VIA cup from avent.. cos i was using the avent pump..
The cups will contain max 180ml i think
abt 3 mths old they'll need abt 120ml per feed if i remember correctly so should be quite ok..
if say at 1 pump u get more then 120ml but less then 240ml.. i'll freeze 120ml 1st, then mix the next pump's milk together with the last pump milk.. but of cos have to cool down the 2nd pump's milk 1st.
however, some times no choice will have several 1/2 filled containers in freezer, thus will defrost several of them to make up the amt...

After that I used it to keep food when bb start to wean.. cos we only keep food frozen but not warm it up in the container.

I do not intend to invest on any range of bottles until I have found the right teat the BB want to suckle on.
cos my colleague had experience buying all kinds ot teat available in the mkt to find THE ONE his son wants to suckle.. I was lucky to settle on my 1st try with my #1..
Hopefully my #2 will be using same brand as #1.. so easier when we buy bottles and teats for replacement..

think ur best bet is milk bag esp those with resealable function.. get it on spree or during discount periods, so saves u some money.. Also the bag we can always wash n store our other stuff besides BM in the fridge as the bag cannot restore BM... eg, fruits?? Jst some thoughts..

my gf uses 4 bags a day (all fully filled)
for past yr or so she used about 1000bag liao... sounds v ex esp half of the stored milk are given away to friend's babies but i guess she feel its worth it bah..

My sister recommended scholl. I bought last last week at the Scholl sales at Chevrons for $55. Ok lah. I'm used to track shoes. The scholl covered ladies shoes I bought has a tinier sole than track shoes, so I find it a bit akward.

My bosses all older than yours leh.. 45 & 51 years old. haha, maybe all guys react the same way. All abit akward when dealing with preggers subordinates.

Sounds like good idea. But I think I only start buying after bb comes. Now dunno if will have milk supply or not. Cos do push up, assisted pull up all the way till 5 months into pregnancy, my beautician told me all those may damage milk ducts, later no mmilk.... =( Scardy buy liao all go to waste

Short break is good, but long break is agonising.. I even cancel my holiday trip then.. really dun know wat to do everyday.. tats why i always look forward to outings with hubby and the monthly appt at the clinic.. seriously rotting... ahahahahahahhaahah

what i did was to sterilize all 4 bottles at one go then slowly use them when only left with 1 bottle then wash all and sterilize again. oh yah also use the travel teat pack to keep the teats sterile.

Hi Moo,
Try manuka honey, it's soothing and has anti-bacteria . I was down with a bad cough for almost 3 wks; very frustrating esp cos I had to deal with incontinence at the same time. I either take the honey straight 3 times a day or take the honey with lemon juice (Qtr cup water, 1 Tbs honey, 1 tsp lemon juice); it is soothing for throat and safe to take. But should go to a doc if you get sore throat.

actualy i tink not every1 is comfortable with drinking other mummies milk.. quite a bit of thg to over see... event he daddy might mind u know..

so realy gotto make thg clear when it comes to such thg.. or onli give to ppl who realy dun mind.

Im thinking of doin some volunteer work but DH abit not agreeable as he feels volunteer work may get quite hectic and get quite physical.. HBB, i envy your gf. She's jus like my SIL...who really can produce BM. Sometimes really stressed me out. My mum oso say will start cooking papaya fish soup for me everyday only in the last mth before labour.
Sheryl, my bb like your girl today...only kick me once today after the hike at bukit timah hill. I'm so relieved that everything was over before the downpour. My bb muz be exhausted since morn & hav not responded me since the kick. So sad

Yeah HBB...my mum cooked a lot for her...till nw, she still drinks. But my SIL is a v health conscious person. She really eats very healthy food thru out her both pregnancies so her 2 labour were v smooth w/o epi. She also BF for a very long time....like unlimited supply like that. So envious lor..

I think of the fishy smell and add on the papaya smell..hmm I wonder wat it taste n smell like.. I did think of tuition but coz my edd is in early july which means the start of the new school term, so i highly doubt parents are willing to look for me to teach their children as when i go give birth and confinement their kids will be without a tutor for 3 months...

Hi lamagier, ya….quite angry with the Avent counter as I purposely went down for the breastpump. Luckily managed to buy the car seat if not really wasted my trip. I bought Avent milk bottle starter set during the Expo baby fair…if not will definitely change to another brand for the breastpump. >_<

basicaly what i did was pan fry fish steak/fish bones with a bit of ginger n sesame oil...
then add water in(not too much water.. enuff for about 1 bowl)
add in half a green papaya (ripe one also can but it will b v v soft aft boilig) and also some red dates.
let cover n simmer about half an hour.
the soup will turn whitish in colour
add a bit of salt to taste ( u need to add a bit of salt to bring otu the sweetness of the soup else its gg to b nothg but bland white water)
1st few time uc an play ard w the amt of water added... till the taste u like... then will b v yummy liao...
i use this same stock base to make fish slice beehoon hehe

Hmm.. i heard that eating fish will increase milk supply but it is before or after deliver? It depends on indiviual too rite?
I need to increase my red meat intake too as my gynae will not be giving me iron pills.
