baby's charges will follow mummy's ward type... are u planning to stay in subsidised/non-subsidised ward? I need to get the estimated bill size from hubby... will post here later tonight ok? I stayed in class C ward and didn't have to pay any cash deposit as all covered by medisave.

The other thing I learnt is that the KKH NICU is almost always fully packed and priority is given to patients on KKH antenatal package... I got a scare when last minute they told me can't do the c-section cos there's no bed for my bb in NICU... lucky they managed to sort it out in the end. If yours is elective c-section or induced labour, make sure they know your bb needs extra care when you are admitted.

I'm going to the hospital now to visit my bb... talk to u later!

bean, i am ok but bb got abit of complication, so might have to go kkh due to the costs. so juz wanna check with sei the cost and arrangement coz i am already 36wks+..juz worried dunno got time to switch

shers - my date is not scheduled yet but maybe late apr/early may. suppose to discuss with doc on 21 apr. he is on vacation this week so he put me on hospitalisation leave. no more stress from work, so hopefully bb is also more relaxed now.

sei - may your baby discharge soon.

Cola - I really muz jia you to get over my confinement...totally not lookin' forward to it..

Sei - Congrats that both u and baby r doin well!

ak, our dates r very near... too bad not in the same hosp..

flommy, u remind me of confinement again!!!

tinkle_mum, i dont know if it works coz i 1st time try.. but it was recommended by my fren who used her.. like wat shers said it depends on indiv. The lady told me she can massage the bb as well on alternate day to clear phelgm...

shers, kerene: this is gonna be my first bb bt i really agree with u guys. I'm "pro-natural" too but if bb's in danger or at risk or has any complications then i'd rather go for c sect. Why wanna put bb in danger jus cuz of a stupid "pro-natural" principle rite? I dun think it's offending anyone since we are all more "pro-healthy and safe baby" then "pro-natural". =)

flommy: u must b incredibly excited!!! hahahha!!

sei: ur bb so cute n chubby!! congrats once again!! =D

u guys talking abt milk jus nw, must be those powdered milk for mama or can be those fresh milk type?

sei ur baby is so cute. especially the one where she opened her eyes
happy.gif
she will be home with u soon! cant wait to see everyone's babies
happy.gif

episiotomy:

is it a must? my gynae if can tear naturally, she will let it tear naturally. if the area from the vagina to anus is too short, she will do episiotomy to guide the tearing so easier to stitch.

really?

hi joyce,
i'm not sure.. u can ask her.. i'm going downstairs now..
baby may is downstairs and the supplier is on her way.. brb!!!

Hi Sei,
your bb ger is really cute & hug-able ... I see the pix and feel like hugging her
happy.gif
Congrats!

Thanks for sharing your experience on Dr A. I think your case is unique and c-sec is the best and safest option for you and your ger.

Actually I think he is a nice doc, just that I want to try 1st to beef up bb and have natural delivery before giving in to c-sec option. I just worried he is pro-c-sec.

I'll probably see Dr Tseng and hear what he got to advise. Then I'll check with Dr A. I don't think I'll change gynae, just want another expert's opinion before I decide to try or just c-sec ... cos I think I'm like every mom, I want my bb to be out safe and sound

Enjoy the start of your motherhood

You'll find life more fulfilling and full of wonders

kerene: i also hope i wont nd to go for c sect due to any reasons. but i too, will try for natural before giving in to c sect option. =)

Joyce, I'm requesting to collect on sat cos visiting my mil, same pl as audrey. U wan me to collect for u? Anyway, I will b ask my boss if I can work from hm next week. Walking is a bit painful these days and tired

jamie,

yes, of course all of us are "pro healthy & safe baby" here.

some of the mummies here are facing a dilemma to whether seek 2nd opinion as birthing is a major decision. so i think it's perfectly fine for us to open and seek advices from other mummies and all are free to comment from their experience and view. it's not really a battle of natural vs c-sect..
happy.gif

i understand why most of mummies prefer natural delivery as c-section is actually considered a major surgery, and scientifically proven c-section babies were more likely to have respiratory problems as birth by natural labour clears liquid from the infant's lungs, preparing the baby to breathe outside the womb. Caesareans impede this process. So it's natural that evey mum wana give their babies a good & healthy headstart if possible. And i believe the process of going thru the labour is a very beautiful journey and a memorable one... And of course im not referring to those circumstances where c-sect is a must when medical issue involve. In such case, as long as baby can be delivered healthily, it's the best situation.

This is just my personal view on this issue. I myself had been rather disappointed that i had to go thru emergency c-sect for my 1st baby after 12 hours of trial of natural labour without any pain-killer and contraction at 1 min.

Hope im not offending anyone. Just sharing my 2cts worth
happy.gif

leg pain & lower virgina pain:

I have asked my gynae.. he said due to bb's position.. pressing on our nerves, once it's position change, the pain will be gone!

muffintop,
i was with baby may downstairs. collected the bags liao.
i didn't take the petit madeline for u because the website is all wrong. the petit madeline is really too small and no compartments inside and no changing mat, nothing. u cannot keep anything inside. its like the size of a mini laptop only.

ok mummies the bags are here and they are nice!
i will post the bags up tonite.
happy.gif

anyway, don't transfer yet cos baby may bargained and we have 25% discount now instead of 20%! haha!

alexis bags $39 after 25% is $29.25

daphne $55 after 25% is $41.25

sydney $37.50

flommy, its $58.50 for both alexis.

ok byebye mummies i going for dinner liao.

Audrey:

Is there anything for muffintop since she not taking the mini bag?

If there is, then, can pass mine to her.. if not, pls let me know.. thanks
