which tiger brand food jar is this? u mean can cook porridge in it? just put hot water and rice????so good ah? then good for travellng lei...

yeah its foogoo brand...oh u mean not very good ah...its better to get one with handle? i already have one zorijushi brand..3 containers but too bulky i find..so i want to get sthing smaller to bring around..

i'm using this, but i find tat its very hard to wash the cover, where the gap is.. always have food stuck inside..
i dun think its v hygenic if it cant be washed properly cos bacteria will grow in warm damp area right?

I'm using the standard thermos Vacuum Insulated Food Jar (the black and silver one) and i find it quite effective, if u fill it with bioling water for a few mins before putting in the food, i realise after 8-9 hours it's still hot!

But very fascinated by the tiger jar! Can cook on the move! Wow!!

How long did it take to cook? quite useful for travelling.

I always take porridge out so i bot the thermos one and i think its good but cannot cook lor.

yup, the rice reli cooked till soft like porridge but not the cantonese type, more like the teochew type. but our bb is big enough to eat dat le. dat time i tried it took 3-4hrs.</font>

Kris, I have the pot that can cook as well. I use it to make porridge. It's great for those who are travelling. I can recommend the brand when I get home. It is C&amp;G (cheep&amp;good)as it came with free thermos flask for water. Think it was $49 with Taka member rebate on top of that.

Hi Eviangal,

I was in tokyo last dec and also stayed at Citadines. It was great! The rooms were not big but the property is new so things are clean and nice. Also the small kitchen comes with pots and pans and basic cutlery so that was very useful too. They also have a laundromat so you dont have to bring too much clothes, can wash and dry. Also the staff speak good english and are very helpful. They printed maps and even helped us with dinner reservations.

I've been to Takayama to visit the Grass houses and although it is very quaint in that village, babies might be bored there. So dont feel bad abt missing that leg of your trip, reserve it for you and hubby's second honeymoon

Yah, agree that when I went it was very busy, maybe that's why the food and service was a little disappointing. Definitely willing to give it another try. I will KIV for next wed as hb will be travelling.

Ow Mummy: Dont think so lei. I think must use their caterer. If not, you have to prepare your own food. How about trying to smuggle in by getting the food in those aluminium tray instead of those caterer kind of warmer? Then it doesnt look like you cater.

But very unglam la.. And food will be cold.

Hi Edj,

I bought a tiered lunch box and i usually use 1 tier for vegetable puree, 1 tier for porridge. i will then fill up the tier meant for soup with hot water so that the heat will circulate and continue to keep the porridge and puree hot.

THinking of getting a smaller thermos fr short outings but the above method really keeps the food hot from morning till evening.

Edj: I've several thermos and shuttle pot. I've Tiger 2-tier thermo...not very effective in keeping porridge warm and keep leaking!! Usually I use the top tier to keep soup or hot water to feed as it's more leak-proof.

I also have thermos pot like Kris but my elder son dun like porridge cooked using thermos. He prefer rice cooked in thick thick soup stock!

So now...I usually dump everything in a slow cooker the night b4 then pour everything into La Gourmat in morning. Can keep warm for whole day. Just pour out required amount for each feeding. I can feed Maverick 3 meals in the flask.

you also have tiger thermos pot ah? hows the porridge texture like? very diff from the usual porridge that we cook using slow cok=oker ah?

also la gourmet brand is good? pseed also using the la gourmet thermos pot to cook porridge....
