thanks to you, pumpkin, I am right now shopping online for ribbons. Your neatly stacked DIY box lah. Have been at it since 1am with baby latching in between. *bleary eyed*

for some strange reasons I am right now obsessed with the thought of making taggies blankets/hankies

so I need ribbons. lots of them. All kinds of textures. And I want them NOW NOW NOW!!! :X

I'm going ribbons @_@

got to sleep

brain not functioning now

night

Haha, hope they are useful. I am thinking of my diaper cakes now. Trying to visualise them before I start but the brain is not co-operating well.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the Papas :D

My boy has also been decreasing his feed. From 120ml to current 80-100ml only and looks like he has lost weight though I didn't weigh him.

Gotta check with doc when he goes for his 2nd dose of 6-in-1.

queenie - hope u get it! hee hee hee! really cheap! =)

Pumpkinseed - her thighs still okie leh. think there's stil rm for slight allowance. heh. so probably cn last for awhile. =D ur colleague passing u bebepod as well? i personally think its much better than the bumbo. =P dun tink bumbo has the toy & tray right? il post video of baby K on it in FB later =P

Dim Sum gathering - haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii jus remembered that my company doing health screening at SIM on tues and i am involved =(((((( i wont be able to make it for the lunch... but i will be able to meet u all after... due to past experience, it usually finishes ard 3-4pm... haii hopefully cn get off earlier... by right i am half day til 1 lo... the dimsum is until what time? will need to get Sophie frm pumpkin & my wetbags frm Kris =P

re baby drinking less milk, my boy has been displaying it as well. Hubby found from internet that baby peobably can digest the nutrients from breastmilk better, hence, need not drink as much as when they are younger.. Should be correct, but just in case, can check with the pd. Yest I just went to see PD and he said baby's weight is ok (6.65 kg at 2 mths 3 wks).

Also checked on whether must clean baby's gum and tongue, and PD said have to do so once/twice a day. Plus, if baby is having breastmilk and poo poo is soft, it's ok if baby poos once every few days.

kris

re: jumperoos/exersaucers

Just wanna share this with anyone who has or is intending to get jumperoos and/or exersaucers to put bb in.

http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/108/4/1009 - femoral fractures associated with exersaucers

Also, generally searching around, there is a consensus amongst health professionals that the time spent in exersaucers and jumperoos be limited to 15 mins per day, as any longer period will affect spine development and future coordination when bb's start to cruise/walk - all to do with the toe push-off that the jumpers encourage. WHat is more, as with baby carriers, the seats support bb on the crotch to make bb 'stand', so may also affect hip development.

Just wonder if fisher price and other toy manufacturers actually state any of these potential effects on development and safety hazards on their packaging...

Hi Mummies : Long time never post as busy with looking after the baby and my elder gal who is on sch holidays .

Queenie , punggol which blk maybe I can help u to take and u help me take the sophie and I can meet u at Tampines next week to pass to you.

Or maybe I drop by at Marriott to pass to you .. must see how is my schedule lah .. must keep my elder gal and niece company lor since they are on holiday ...

Kat
I went to the KP in yishun. Think any where will be the same price for the yaolan.

Wahaha......ganna scolded by my mum just now. I never told her that i had got the yaolan as i know she definitely will scold me and true enough lor
sad.gif
. I accidentally told her that Anver want to yao at yaolan lor than she knew it. Haiz.....i cannot keep sercret one lor.

kome: yr mum dun let u use yaolan meh?

mummies: which week was yr bb at when they could lift their head up while on tummy? My boy just turned 3 mths but still cant lift yet..is it too slow?

pinkdemoness,

Do u give him a lot of tummy time? tummy on tummy helps too.. But dun worry too much. Some bb like to take their time. I also heard of bb only lifting at 4 - 5 mths

pumpkinseed,

Good to know that the method worked for you as well. My bb had jet lag for 2 weeks so urs is still not too bad. She got over t eventually when i bought her out in the day rather than stay at home.. so maybe to recover faster means got to go out more in the day?

jo: Haha, i didnt give him tummy time cos he's like very uncomfy whenever on tummy but whenever tummy on tummy, he can lift quite high, just that on the bed he cant...tml is his vaccine plus 3mths chk up...hopefully he's nt lagging behind...

Pinkdemoness
Haiz.....my mum like to scold me for wasting money lar, so no matter what i get she will scold me and said waste money one. To avoid all the nagging normally i will not let her know what i buy lor.

My boy can lift his head up at around 2 months. Maybe like what Jo had mentioned, we always let him lay on his tummy to sleep which had help ba...

pinkdemoness,

U mean lift head up or lift whole of head and chest up? My gal lifted her head up since wk 6 i thiknk. Tomorrow she is wk 15 and today she lifted her head and chest up for the first time.. she was so happy with herself that she spent a good 45 mins in her new found position checking out her surrounding. so pleased with herself that she is chatting with everyone who plays with her, even those that she normally cries at... so funny.
But dont worry if ur bb have not lift his head up yet cos different bb progress differently. Would try to read the "what to expect in the first yr" to check out what is the text book schedule for this. Let u know if i do come across..

Pumpkinseed,
Yup the book is really good, is a baby bible for me,haha!

areya,

Thanks for the info. I think if that's teh case jumperoo is safer cos dotn think babies would jump for so long or parents would let bb jump wihthout monitoring them. Exersaucer is too convenient to leave bb in it and go do our own stuff.. Now i thinking want to get bumbo type of seat or not cos read tht when intro food to bb, best to put them in a chair or something similar. got abt 2 more months to decide.. heh..i got high chair liao but high chair would only arrive in Nov.. bb is 8 mths old.. thinking good to put one in my MIL's place.

asura,

bumbo vs bebepod:

in terms of fit/snugness/comfort:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/242334/bumbo_baby_sitter_vs_bebe_pod_car_seats.html?cat=49

in terms of other practical considerations:

http://www.epinions.com/content_405371326084

warnings about using bumbo:

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Consumer/Story?id=3774854&amp;page=1

when is the best time to use the bumbo:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/531619/10_ways_to_encourage_gross_motor_development.html?cat=25

In other words, contrary to what people think, and what the seat manufacturers recommend, babies should be allowed to learn to sit up properly first BEFORE using the bumbo seat, otherwise they won't develop their muscles needed to sit up. This makes sense, but unfortunately what people have been doing is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE, so for anyone who thinks that the seat will help baby sit up, it is actually counter productive.

I think I will see how he develops. We already have a bouncer/rocker at home that he can sit in to be fed. If he doesn't take to it to be fed then will consider bumbo, but only if he looks like he is willing to stay put in it and not try to free himself by flipping backwards. Otherwise, no.

kris
don lug over to town pls. it will be heavy on u n ur baby.. just leave it at ur place meanwhile. i will go n get transport hehe. u pm me ur number ok?

pumpkinseed
mayb u try seeing the bottom of the teat whether do they indicate the size? for pigeon teat, they do indicate the size at the bottom...</font>

sunshinebaby, the bottom of the teats say 1,2,3 or 4 haha, so doesn't tell me what size since I bought only slow and med flow.

asura, good links on bumbo/bebepod review. The people who wanted to sue Bumbo manufacturer are really silly. Common sense will tell you not to place any seat on a high surface unattended. A big percentage of the American population comes across as ignorant and insular.

missycandy, my hand me down is a Bumbo. Hope to get it soon because she loves sitting up now.

Jo, oh dear, I better go read up on the H1N1. Since we are both tired still, we may have lower immunity. I think am having blocked ducts too because 'My Best Breastpump' is at her grandparents place today.

Gosh, the accumulated effect of weird sleeping pattern since we got back hit me hard today. Felt sick during Father's Day lunch, came home immediately after and crashed til now.

Queenie - i dun tink i cn make it for lunch leh. apologies.

pumpkin - yeh. Baby K lurves sitting up now as well.

anyone keen on getting stuff frm Healthy Times? Jan thread mummy is conducting an order. if hit more than $250 can get 15% discount. the mummy stays near me. so im ordering some. hee. anyway cn start feeding 4mths onwards. which is quite soon for most of our lil ones right? =)

<font color="119911">queenie,

mangogal,
will arrange a timing to meet k.</font>

Hi,

If it's odd number, is it okay for the mummies to split the cost?

For 14 Pax, it's abt $21 per pax
For 15 Pax, it's abt $22 - 23 per pax

So the difference is about a dollar or two , so I guess mummies joining the lunch are okay??

Re: bumbo/bebepod

seriously, I think that it is really not worth payng $60 for a brand new bumbo/bebepod as baby will outgrow it really fast. I already have the testimonials from two friends with slightly older babies that both their babies only managed to use the seat for a month at most before their thunder thighs made it uncomfortable for them. Thus, lucky me borrowed one for Gracie. Even then, I have only used it less than a handful of times as she is not too fond of the seat.

Also, once babies' backs are strong, chances are that they will start to twist and turn their body so much that they can hardly sit still. Perhaps this is where the bebepod has a slight edge given that it comes with a toy. (psssssst misscandy, kirsten sure looked good in her bebepod and oh man, is she strong!).

As for the reports etc I'm too lazy to read through them heeee but I think that it should be ok if your purpose of having one is just to buy you ten mins to finish up some tasks or for flash card purpose. I mean, doubt anyone seriously expects baby to sit still in that bumbo for 30mins in a stretch right?

Likewise for the jumperoo. Yah I don't let her sit in it for more than 20min. Just by plain common sense really. An over-stimulated baby is not a fun one to hang out with :p

Asura,
ohh wow that must be really new. Because the last time I checked out kiddy toys which was like 2-3 weeks ago I have not seen any Laugh and learn jumperoo on display. It looks so fun! I'm sure baby will love it!

Re: Tinkat service
Received a pamphlet from Neo Garden which gives a 10% discount for min 2 mths pre-paid order. Have decided to give them a call to arrange for a 4day/week 2 person tinket dinner for 2 months. 4 dishes without rice at $162 every 4 weeks after discount. $171 after discount if it's 5day/week. Yipeeeeeeee saves me the stress of cooking with baby howling away in the background

ida,
opps. Probably from your business thread whereby you mentioned in advance you would be away for a short holiday. didn;t know about your great grandma's illness
sad.gif
hope she is ok now. Just a thought, you might want to return the item if it is giving you so much stress even with instalment arrangements. I know that you really really want this, but babe, there will always be good deals around. Seriously. That's what I always remind my hubby too.

While you've used the stuff extensively for quite some months now, I imagine that as long as they are all kept in a good condition she won't mind taking them back? I could be wrong but at least, give it a shot. Surely it beats giving yourself additional stress of post-poning payment time and again. Can't be a good feeling, that.

Hope things work out better for you ok?
happy.gif

Pinkdemoness, kris,
ya ya don't worry! come come. We'll split the bill
happy.gif

eh, thought I already updated my choice. Am actually really concerned about H1N1 but no choice, no one to help me baby sit. Will bring baby in a stroller for some decent makan.

hey mummies
I'M BACK!!!
did not finish to unpack cos whole body aching... left 1 luggage which is full of Oli's clothings n toys.
quite lucky that Oli slept throughout the flight, only woke up once for milk
happy.gif

now he's sleeping, but i really pray hard that he doesn't wake up to ask for milk cos i am going to KO soon.

Gosh, tmr going to work and i'm up at this hour pumping, wonder why my breast juz feels full &amp; it's really uncomfy when i lie on my side on it. Is it true when we're thinking of baby we'll produce more milk? is that why?

Speaking of bumbo seat, i think it's a want, not a need. And since babies outgrow it so fast, i'll not consider getting one.

Jtho, welcome home! Hope everything will settle down and Oli's a good boy and will adapt well back to Singapore time
happy.gif

Seabreeze, tmr is our 1st day back at work! Hope we survive the chaos and pumpings! Hahahhaaaa worse part is, there's no place in my office to pump!
