prosper:: not in a day la, over a wk i slowly stop lo. replace a feed over 2 to 3 days. slowly will stop. now i feel boobs only get heavier after 6pm cause feeds after 6pm to 6am, i will latch.

mummies, qn...my gal is 3mth 1 week old..she is drinking 120ml ebm almost every 2.5-3hr, recently she has been so guai, can sleep from 8pm to almost 8am (last feed at 7.50am)for the past few days, but her feed from morning onwards had to be back to 2hrly ebm feed, should i consider increasing the feed to say 140ml-150ml? seems like no difference when i give her 130ml...haiz...my ms dwindling liao..coz going back to work, now dragging longer intervals...
 
prosper:: yes trying to stop ss also. don't want to pump at work, so trying to achieve partial bfing where bb takes FM in the day time and i latch her at night. haha! managed to do that for my #1 till he was 10months where he didn't need midnight feeds anymore and when i found out i was preggie with #2 so then i stopped bfing him lo.
 
moomooland, I think you can try increasing her intake and see if she can last longer. For my gal, when she drinks more, her drinking interval will be longer. I also find that dragging longer intervals to pump, the ms will drop lor. But no choice cant be pumping away so often during work.
 
irene - yes i'm feeling better tho my breasts still painful....the lump still there lo...i use hot towel...now u give me a good method for warm compress...i will adopt yr method and try it tonite..same as u, i'm using FTG...yes its bulky, imagine bringing it to work everyday...that explains why i didn't do so today...sian to bring it when i'm suffering the lump pains.

sportyger - jia you...despite our struggles, well what to do...hubby doesn't understand why i wan to torment myself this way. I oso don't understand...sighz

cindy - i really don't know how to reduce...its like a vicious cycle...if leave as much milk inside wouldn't it cause blocked ducts...end up i still gotta pump. U realli good lor, manage to control yr ss...my hb so worried i cannot stop.
 
any babies here on total breastmilk and did not poo everyday? My boy recently poo once every 2 days, as compared to last time 2-3 times a day.

i also wonder how it works? prolong time sure blocked ducts again. only those mummies tried b4, they will know.
 
prosper - yalor, then if leave as much milk inside as possible will get engorged easily and need to pump more frequently...and the more u pump the more milk u have...like a cycle...hmm...
 
hugs pinksorbet, u can do it. or maybe u can put cold cabbage? it would reduce milk ss and feel very comfy too!

just don't think negatively! you have to leave as much milk inside so the body will get the hint that you don't want and need milk anymore so the body will reabosrb back the milk. otherwise if you keep emptying then it's a vicious cycle. You try to pump as little as possible to relieve engorgement, then apply cold cabbage, might help to prevent blocked ducts. Very fast should be able to see results de. MY friends do it the cold turkey way, don't pump don't latch, rock hard for 3 days then back to normal.

moomoo, sportyger:: my girl damn jialat, 50 to 60mL can last 4 hrly ok!! sighsssss!! no wonder she so light, only 5.45 at 3.5mths. sigh wanna make her drink more also cannot.
 
moomooland, my bb last feeb 10pm also can sleep to 8am. I gave her same amt 125ml. But sometimes i do gave her more, 140ml. she still drink.

wow.. so many babies sleeping thru the night already. Zac still need to wake up at 1am and 5am to drink. wonder when he will be able to sleep thru.
 
Cindy, she only drinks that amount becos she refuse bottle? Dont worry as long as she is growing and putting on weight, she is fine. Some babies are lighter and follow their parents, You are petite mah

. My baby also not very heavy, around 5.8kg when measured at 3 mths. Now she is going 4 mths, dont know how much she weighing.

I also got a few times the lump so hard have to get my hubby to massage...then pain till i scream. LC at Parentcraft says to skip a pumping session, do gradually. Say that session u usually pump 15mins, cut down to 10mins for a few days, then down to 5 mins for next few days...etc. Jiayou and hang in there!

Ya, my LUP still got drilling on & off. So sometimes still noisy and very dusty. Have to let my boy sleep on his stomach during day time

yup cindy - speaking of cold cabbage hubby asked if he needed to buy for me this morning, i told him no need since the lump subsided though its still there...i was thinking probably i can try massaging it on my own to get rid of the lump.

teddybb - tks for letting me know...clear some of my doubts how to stop milk production if i have to do so...so far i haven't had the guts to reduce or stop milk production as yet, just wondering how long more i should persist.
 
RE: Blk ducts

So upset, now that i am pumping to feed in the day so that can intro bottle to my gal, i end up with a blk duct in my left boob. Was quite painful at touch and felt a bit feverish on the boob so i quickly pump 10 mins. Still pain at touch now but lump not so hard anymore.

I too lazy to use hot compress now but i guess if my gal dont help me clear it over the nite, i would have to do the hot compress tomorrow.. so sian.

Me also not sure when i want to stop. Quite enjoy seeing bb suckle leh. It would be at least 8 months of bfing for me cos my hb would only be back then and i find it troublesome to give FM. heh..

wah.. mummies pumping at work.. kudoz to you all. must be tough! I'm working part time myself so only pumping minimal. And I already feel tired le. Latching her most of the time. Easier. Heh. "salute" to all mummies going through all the trouble and pain for our beloved.

Almost all dispers changes are with poo poo. Hardly see clean dispers

sinmey, same here too. tbf mummies will have delayed menses as long as 6 months so no worries. however, we are still fertile during this period. if u dun wan a tiger bb rem to use protection! lol..
 
Asura - like u i enjoy seeing my boi suckle...so cute hor...he looked so calm and peaceful closing his eyes while quietly suckling...like enjoying it realli much...thats one of the reason why i don't want to stop bf-ing oso...

Cindy, last time my gal also like that. feed her drink only, she cries and shake her head. We were so frustrated feeding her. Then she just outgrows that phase herself. Try to feed her less at shorter intervals?

Jo - hmmm... my frn's hubby said.. all of us have 1 day in a yr where our day is jus really down in luck and mood and basically everything... if we really suay, the "things" will just follow us home... so happens our home we dont have stuff to ward off such... im a christian but my HB is freethinker... =P so jus follow us home lor...
