irene, wow ur bb can be sleep mode when changing him?? my ger will stay awake when i change nappy for her. my mil keeps stressing me to change in the middle of nite.

I didn't use any method. Maybe it's just dark and quiet at nite so she can sleep better.

Wah! I envy yr supply lehz.. 1.2 litres! Even though I dun have yr amount, I also experience hard boobs. Esp when my boy only choose 1 side to latch

I find ameda very convenient to carry around the house lehz.. coz' it can use batteries or plug. Ameda pump is also highly recommended by mdm rokiah.

Normally I dun change the nappy unless it's super super full. Coz' I read somewhere tt it may disrupt their sleep. So I dun change. So far no nappy rash.. touch wood

my feeding interval is 4 hrs... envy u hv gd supply of ms... now i'm latching him on during daytime, didn't pump... only give him EBM b4 his sleep juz to make sure can last him at least 6-7 hrs b4 he wake up again to let him latch on...
i oso using nursing pillow, more comfortable for me...
 
st if u still bfeed, try to wear tube bra or nursing bra...wait our boobs out of shape...u probably wear wired bra 4 support but very uncomfy...

change of diaper...better to choose diapers tat offer high absorbancy...of course there r times bb still sleeps if u change w lightning speed or change him while feeding when he dozes off...not sure if possible but as long as he does not scream...leave it...for bang sia...cannot lah but urine tink max 6hrs change one...

try not to wear underwire bras as it'll cause blocked ducts. if u already have this problem, the wire will make it worse as it restrict movement and milk flow.
a non wire bra with good material will help support your boobs and keep it in shape while not restricting your milk flow.

sunshine bb...i jus noe drinking all these stuff during confinement did boost my ms...now my ss so little...usually 100-120ml over like 6 hrs stretch...oso to blame, i took fm...so body not responding so well than b4...

one mummy ever posted that different pump suit different person. so it is best for u to go n try out the different pumps before u buy. u can make appt to try the pumps at breastfeeding mothers' support group.

kat: It depends on individuals. I preferred electric pump to Avent manual pump. But a fren and several of her frens preferred Avent manual pump...

I have not used Ameda before. I am using Medela swing now and I like it. Comfortable and portable.

st: Wearing underwire bra can restrict milkflow. Nurses and lactation consultants discourage wearing underwire bras for nursing mothers.

Jo, tuskywoollie: Ya, although find pumping leh cheh, I feel blessed and will continue to pump.
 
Kat: Confinement lady cooked this papaya & fish soup and I drank a few times. Other than that, I try to drink lots of water. No special diet.

moomoo, i always swirl the milk in the bottle, e.g. the 200ml and 100ml to mix well, and around the edges where the fat gets stuck to the bottle.

babe,sportyger, how to get baby to sleep throughout? U mean baby doesn't get up to feed? Keenan's last feed is ard 11+, after that he gets up at 2+ and 5+ then it'll be morning 8+...u can imagine i haven't had more than 5 hrs sleep since the day he was born...not to mention doing 1 pump inbetween (that's where i'll be posting online)...
thank goodness i can nap in the afternoons with him...

oh.. the pump is good? saw that it's painful for some mummies. ya.. but the oats didn't really help leh. i'm doing full latch for her actually. so ss is low when i pump.

Re baby's mouth green colour - Funny that you mention cos my grandpa was just telling me last week that if I see bb's mouth with "green" patch/colour around it... it means bb has been frightened (scared). Cos my bb had a little bit of green which I didnt notice till he pointed out. He said to put a pillow or beanie as support so bb will feel more secure. I just bought a long beanie pillow from Cheeky Bon Bon but my girl doesnt seem to like it cos its quite heavy & restricting her movements.

Do try to take it easy and give your hb the fullest support... I'm sure he'll need a lot of it now.

EASY - My bb was also most often on ESA ESA before I tried Baby Wise's method (which is also v similar to EASY). She used to fall asleep during her feed so I'll try to tickle her cheek or talk to her to prevent her from falling asleep but sometimes no luck. I also try to change her diaper after each feeding and that helps keep her slightly awake.

I'm using Ameda pump, no complaints so far. I find the noise level is ok, at least it doesnt disturb my hb or bb.. not sure about the other brands cos I've not used it before. My gf raves about Medala though.

I dont usually wake my girl up for nappy change too. I usually wipe her and change into pj by around 8pm or so and she'll wake up at about 4 or 5am for next feed.

My bb's poo sometimes yellowish & sometimes greenish. And she quite often she poos right away her feed, should I be concern?

babe, yup... it's very tiring... i've tried to sleep thru the night but ended up with engorgement n blocked ducts. maybe should pump less at midnight, then slowly to no pumping at midnight.. but midnight is also one of the time which i can yield more BM.

moomooland, then i think it's time to hire mdm rokiah. better clear the blocked ducts.. no joke man if get mastitis.

prosper, yup.. he's been like tat since he came home from hospital. After feeding will go back to sleep. sometimes, haven't finish the feed already sleep.. so i just change while he sleeps. sometimes he will make some noise then stay awake for awhile, i just leave him in his playpen, cover with mosqitoes net then i sleep. he will sleep automatically. Oh ya, i leave the night light on the whole night and did not on the ceiling lamp when I feed him. Din talk to him also.

st, i don't wear wired bra, scare got blocked ducts.

Wow you really ho liao, can pump so much!! My supply now drop to only pathethic 20ml and thats after much squeezing hahaahaha... waiting for my Fenugreek to arrive and hopefully can increase my flow again.

U mentioned that u feed your bb 130 to 150ml for each feed, how many weeks is she? I feel like doing the same so that my baby doesn't wake up at 3 hrs interval at night for milk. My baby is in his 8th week

I've been to Cebu before for work, stayed at the Marriot Hotel. But didnt go out much cos my event was at the hotel itself. Dont recall much about the place but you should buy their dried mangos (7D brand is the best!). Dont over-eat cos my agent sent me a carton and I had dirrahea after eating too much hahaha.. greedy me!
 
Woo saw quite a no. of babies slept thru the night .. envy .. my boy still wake up 1-2x for feeding then sleep again .

Woo Teddybear / lipstar : Envy both of you got good supply of BM ... me only get 100-125ml every 5hrs interval ... sigh .. must think of way to increases the supply ...

My boy 10 weeks drinks around 4oz at 2.5 to 3hrs interval as he will merlion so did I given him less amt more feeds instead .. going to increase his supply to drag longer from tomorrow onwards .
 
report on Baby Whisperer for day 1.

She didn't snack or comfort suck today! I made it a point to only let her suckle when it's feeding time, which also means that she can now suckle for a full 25 to even 45min each time i.e. a full feed instead of 5-10min suckle every hour or hour and a half during the day time. Today, I managed to spread out her feeding times by about 2hr or more between the end of a feed to the start of the next.

This however means I have to spend more time entertaining her cos I no longer have the option to keep her quiet by latching her all the time.

She is not following a 3 hr or 4 hr routine, but then this is only day 1, so it probably too early to tell.

I think it also confirmed that my baby is just one of those who sleeps lesser than usual. She suggests the typical sleep sessions to be about an hour and half, while activity to be up to 45mins. My baby is the other way round. aiiiiiii

I really wanted to buy and ship it to singapore (About SGD110, add another 30 or so for shipping) but then hubby prefers something with buckles, so no choice.

are you the mommy whose in laws refuse to take your ceremonial tea during your wedding? Sorry if I made a mistake. If it is you, hope all is fine now? I also don;t understand. My hubby's family is the same ... only his bro and my hubby drive. So we always end up having to fetch his sis at Hougang and his parents at Woodlands ... while we stay at Queenstown. I remembered back when I was still working I always get really frustrated by their neediness. I worked really hard and sometimes go back to office in the weekends back then so free time was really precious for me. The idea of having to spend so much time just fetching them round the island really irked me. I used to tell my hubby why don't I just pay for their taxi faes. Hahaha But ever since I stopped working, I guess I have become a much more patient person, not so mean also. hehehe I'm now used to it liao. :p

think it's probably worse off for your case due to the cultural difference. Glad that all is fine for you now. Aiiiii have to spend more time with my MIL lor. She is by nature a very sensitive soul, so I have to be extra tactful with her or I will hurt her feelings unwittingly.

no lah she woke up 10mins after my post. Aiyaya Having said that I am happy enough that she didn't snack as she used to. Hopefully she would be able to nap for 1.5hr each time during the day soon. Yah I know, I used to really hope that she could just sleep after every feed. In fact, I was especially happy if she fell asleep towards the end of the latch. However I've come to realise that this is not good because a bb who sleeps too much or too little during the day will not be able to sleep well during the night. Not good for the long term.

There are many techniques in the market, do check them out and find one that suits you. I have the gina ford book if you want to borrow. I personally cannot take her style.
 
oh yes, re my baby whisperer attempt today

I found a trick to get her to sleep on time, provided that she has been fed of course. I simply wear her on my pikkolo. Hahaha cos I notice that she always fall alseep when I put her when I go out. Works even with my hubby. So out of desperation earlier I tried it at home and it worked! she slept within 5 mins. ho ho ho so happy.

speaking of which, tried the cushioned belt attachment today and as much as I dislike tje bulk, it does distribute the weight better i.e. shoulders and hips.

Am so looking forward to trying her in the forward carry, backpack and hip styles. hehee

oh cool! Connecta is pretty and good value. Good on ya! I find that babies sleep well in the tummy to tummy position, whihc is what all these carriers allow. My hubby was so amazed when he wore baby on the pikkolo for the first time last Sun, she fell asleep almost instantly and basically continued sleeping throughout our shopping trip at Takashimaya. :)

Pap smears shouldn't be painful. If I didn;t rem wrongly it usually takes a while for the results to come out.

Sounds like your baby has mixed up day and night. Not sure if it helps, but I make it a point to bring my bb down to the bright living room during the day. During her bedtime, we put her in her nursery room in total darkness> Think the drastic contrast helps her to differentiate between day and night

EASY - Eat Activity Sleep You (when bb sleeps is the You time). Baby whisperer is not about schedules or timetables, it is simply a sequence/pattern that is recommended for the day. At night it is just ES all the way.
