jess,
My gal has been flipping out of her bouncer since 3 months. Think since now they are getting more mobile, they dun want to confine in a place.
I bought a 2nd hand playyard for her to play in. I put the Parklon playyard inside the playyard as her cushion. I use 6 panels. 4 panels in a box cost $149 at Kiddy Palace. Of course inside the playyard is her many toys. She will happily move inside the playyard to explore her toys. Playyard is safer lor. Wun worry she crawl herself to danger. Also I bought the Haenim playyard so it wun be too hard on her head if she happen to bang her head against the playyard.
rachel,
Should I count my lucky stars that my bb can play on her own without crying out for attention so far? My mum is the main caretaker so she will put her in jumperoo or inside the playyard when she need to do housework. But when me and my hubby back home, after dinner, we and my mum will play with her together. My bb love company. Perhaps she got used to such routines, she can play alone when we are not at home. But she will demand our attention when we are back home. Then after playing, she will sleep around 9.30 to 10.30pm. I will start doing my school work by then.
Her daily routines:
6.30am Disturbed a bit by me who kiss her b4 I leave home. Continue to sleep back.
8.30am Wake up time and shower time.
9.30am Milk milk
10.00am Go market or NTUC (Jalan Jalan time)
12 noon Lunch (porridge with 1 meat and 1 vegetables to give her the nutrients, we strain it after cooking)
12.30pm Play time
1.00pm Sleepy sleepy
1.30pm Wake up for more play time
3.00pm Milk milk
3.30pm Sleepy sleepy again
4.00pm Wake up play play
6.00pm Shower time
6.30pm Dinner (porridge that we cook in the morning, we put inside the cooker, under auto mode)
7.00pm Watch daddy, mummy n ah ma eat dinner. We put her in the highchair to watch us eat.
8.00pm Family playing time
10.00pm KO time. Zzzz to lala land.
4-5am Occasionally feeding.
We will sometimes feed her Heinz food, like Apple puree, strawberry yogurt, vanilla custard (yes, she love it), pumpkin, corn and others. I do know the sweetness in such food but we really no time to do our own. So bo bian lor. Also, we will give her some biscuits to chew on to ease her teething itch.
Besides the playyard, maybe u can try putting ur bb in the highchair while she watch u doing housework. My bb enjoys watching my mum doing housework. She will usually delight herself by biting her cup.
We on the TV since she is born so that she will not be startled at midnight due to thunder or other loud noise. So she is used to the background sound. As for really watching, she is always more interested at her other toys. But occasionally she will look at the TV to take a look. Got once, TV show stunts, the audience wow, my bb also wow out. Haha... I am ok with bb watching tv cause I grow up watching tv and it is my way of learning language according to my mum. I think quite true since my house no 1 speak Cantonese at all but I know how to speak Cantonese cause I been watching Cantonese HK serials since young.
Besides u r giving him TV programmes that are educational so it will help him in some sense. But should not letting him watch TV for too long cause it is bad for his eyes n it may hinder his other development that TV cant helps, for example, motor skills.
PAISEH, long post again.
