Ya, just persevere and be patient. esp when it comes to losing weight. What more, different pple's metabolic and genetic makeup is different so results varies too. It is more impt to be healthy!

Re: diet pills
Ya diet pills can cost alot... the result is fast but when i was on it, i started to have low-blood pressure and also became anemic. Till now, still wonder if already done long term damage to myself or not. These stuff are also not safe to eat if breastfeeding. So... just hang in there, i believe with effort, you will get to your desire weight healthily

Its an organic cereal lor. It has probiotics which aid digestion. I din see this in the other cereals. So I'm trying Happy Bellies lor.

the pill called Reductil & it cost abt $100 over per box for 28 days supply... think can only get fr GP... it makes u really lose appetite one, but a lot of side effect laa...

My ger oso like to play with her saliva and blow bubbles. Sometimes she will suck all her saliva back in, sometimes she will just let it drip... And yes, my ger likes to eat her whole fist or her 2nd finger(wat we affectionately call the drumstick and frenchfries). :p

I tried pigeon bottles but cannot fit into my pump, i m using freestyle. It will be loose. I tried NUK .. just nice but will leak milk from the side of the opening. So far, Medela bottles no problem.

Personally, you should only go for this plan if you are discipline in taking the meal replacement and not breastfeeding (cos I believe in balanced meals)

no 1: she plays w her saliva, blow bubbles, suck thumb.. &amp; attempts to stick her whole fist into her mouth!!

no 2: scream n cry alots at milk times

no 3: scream n cries agn at sleepy times..

I ask my MIL whether she's like tt during the daytime.. apparently.. its not so bad at ah ma's place lor... only extra cranky at nite when i take care of her. feeding her n trying to make her sleep can easily agitate me to the max lor.. cos she's simply not co-operative..!! I'm going mad liao...

Hi,

Seems that u all very ON mummies. Start buying bibs and food in preparation for ur bb solid food days. I very lazy, only buy 2 weeks b4 I confirm put her on solid food.

Never see any discussion on high chairs. It is needed as well for solid food feeding.

I use Ikea highchair, cheap and good. I dun think it is worthwhile buying very expensive highchairs that is cushioned or cloth-like materials cause it can get really messy n there is no need to cushion our bb since by then their head quite firm liao. Just my suggestion.

As wat I know, some bb will skip the crawling part but not the jumping part. Hehe... So dun think ur darling will be too fat to jump. Dun listen to those ppl harsh comments. Why ur friends or colleagues like to say such harsh things about bb or you? Are they not mummies themselves?

I got a student come up to me and ask me if I am pregnant. I just told him, NO, I am just FAT. I guess I already resign to the fate that I will be FAT 4ever. Haha.

I saw u online last nite. Why u nvr "oh oH" me leh?

Just to share (paiseh other gers for this long post...)

My ger does No 1 all the time! It's good cos they actually learn (textures n perhaps counting) by sucking their fist/fingers.Guess there is no stopping them (in fact nowadays when my ger stares at her hands, i will quickly remove her mittens). In fact I told my MIL tat day time can just take out the mittens.

For No 2
My ger crys (during meal times) like tat when:
1) she is thinking that she wants milk and is struggling to keep awake for it (How I noe: She fell asleep half way thru milk!); OR
2) she did not finish/take the previous feed and wakes up super hungry (MUST HAVE milk this v second!); OR
3) Just dun wan any milk (I had 2 episodes where my ger din wan her feed at all, she just wanted to zzz. Woke her up 1 hr later and she finished the milk. *Hmmm*)

No 3 (This one I can confirm, happen to me recently):
1) She just wans papa n mama's attention n hug hug to zzz (If u hug liao, still can't pacify then on to the next reason. mostly is 2nd reason.)
2) She is overstimulated (too much play time &amp; distractions b4 nap time) and just can't drop off to lala land - this one bo pian, try not to talk/eye contact with her (just pat pat or carry her), aft a while they will drift off *peace...*
3) Just CAN'T get to lala land, wanna play MORE! (when this happens, I will just put her in her play mat or sing to her some lullaby. Wait for "tiredness" to set in)

I think pple are just crazily obsessed that they see anorexic (people ard me say I look btr now. And I realised that I am now almost reduced to bones type. I am trying to gain a little weight back cos I fear my health will be affected - turning yellow) as beauty. I think as long as we feel comfortable the way we are (without affecting our health), we can just ignore what those insensitive pple say.

High Chair:
I will definetely be getting 2. One for my MIL's place and one for my own place. Told my MIL that my baby will be only be fed at the dinner table AND when she is sitted on the high chair. I hope this will prevent my baby from running ard (with my MIL chasing her with a bowl of food).
 
morning everyone!

Zach is at the age whereby parents cannot eat in peace. Was my hb's birthday yesterday so we went for buffet dinner. He was all sweet and good when we were shopping @ Marina Sq but the moment we reached the hotel and sat down, ready for dinner, his pattern came out. He start crying for attention.. so we fed him with formula. Usually he will be good after tat playing on his own but yesterday, ai seh...super crazee nite! Hb hv to carry him while i eat 1 round, i carry him while hb eat 1 round. Totally put off..until i din really enjoy the dinner n hv to pay so much for it. Sigh.. but the moment he reached home, he is a happy boy again. Faintz

Oh yes, Healthy Times Cereal will be delivered to me this Saturday. Hehee

i'm a mom from the Oct 08 thread. My SIL's personal fren's son has got Leukemia and needs B negative blood. Pls help to forward this message on.

Dear Friends,

My friend's little boy, Barney Allan Jeffs, is in need of B negative blood. The blood bank does not have any B negative blood in storage as it is fairly uncommon blood type in Asians. If you are B negative blood type please contact me so we can add your name to a donor list specifically for donation to Barney. The Blood Bank will follow up by contacting you to ask you to come in and donate. If you contact the blood bank directly, they have told us they will give the blood to the next B negative recipient in need.

Barney is 5 years old and he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia unexpectedly on Tuesday. His only symptoms were that he had been tired and pale during the past week. Today Barney had a bone marrow aspiration test to type his Leukemia and received his first infusion of Platelets and Blood to increase his blood count to an acceptable level so that he can have a central IV line placed tomorrow. The line will allow him to start receiving chemotherapy. As there was no B negative blood available in Singapore this evening, he had to be given B positive blood tonight. This not only increases his chances of a reaction to the blood, but it means he has to have a special injection so that his body won't react to the rhesus positive blood. As you can imagine, each additional injection is torture to a five year old!

Barney's battle with Leukemia will be a long and hard one. The family has been living in Singapore several years and his mom Annie is Irish and his dad David is from New Zealand. They are alone here without family to help them through this, so any support we can give them by trying to get donors is very much appreciated. Please help to forward the request especially around the Caucasian communities in Singapore that are more likely to have people of B negative blood type. The hospital has explained that Barney will require many transfusions of blood and platelets over this initial first week of treatment and in the coming months and a list of at least ten donors will be needed.

Thank you to those who have already started circulating information out. Please do have people continue to contact me if they can donate. We have already had a great initial response of 5 Irish B negative donors tonight but more are needed. Please contact me by phone or email with your name, IC or passport number, contact number and date of birth so I can collate the listing to send to the blood bank.

ypg - i got a hand-me-down high chair still at my in-laws place. i was thinking can sit him at bumbo with the tray for feeding. pple convince me that this baby is too fat to flip. crawling wise, not v sure. some of the women who are mummies also say i look pregnant. maybe coz they managed to slim down fast. but i think if i don't do anything abt it, the fats will stick to me for rest of my life &amp; perhaps go worse.
 
hi xuelyn, i agreed with snowger points. my boy recently did that do me too after my PIL and SIL here last whole month. nowadays i have to carry and pat him to sleep, very tiring. yesterday night my boy also keep crying whole night reluctant to fall sleep. i really going mad and putting him on the bed and let him cry for while. i feel quite irritated sometime, i am thinking to let him sleep on his own, but, some consideration is after i start work and baby louis will taking care by my PIL and SIL sure he will fall back to the old habit, need to carry style.

hi Kath, ya. nowadays baby is so smart and naughty. last weekend i also kena that. my boy been naughty and want us to caryr him while shopping so he can see more thing instead of sitting inside the stroller. end up i didn't enjoy that day shopping. eh! u on leave go back to KL for whole week?? wow! cool! so, u are clearing ur remaining maternity leave? better do it now since u nothing much task on hand. ;)

I asked the infantcare teacher if i were to start zach on solid at abt 5months, how? THey all got a shock leh cos they said not recommended to start before 6month. I also feel Zach is not very interested in milk anymore and juz like Gerard, sumtimes onie drink 4x a day.. abit scary. Haha
 
juzyounme, my sis pass me a jumperoo and i let Zayden try. he will entertain himself in the jumperoo for abt 15mins then will 'shout' for help liao. haha.. same as when he is sitting in the bumbo seat.
 
alison, i cleared all my ML liao. Now hv to clear 2008 leave and 1/2 of 2009 leave. But was advised to clear all the child care leave first incase i resign and child care leave cannot be used as offset. Hehehe

e jumperoo is rather bulky n there's nt much space at my MIL hse to put it. For weekends when we bring him back, we always bring him out kai kai.. so thk prob no need to get. Besides, my boy always got pple to carry him one, n he likes to stand n jump on our laps
 
kath/cindy, i check w my pd and he say in fact if bb dun show any interest in milk, it means that they want start on soild liao..the reasons why now starting cereals in 6mths..it started these few years as they want encourage mummies to continue bf..

i have already started to give my boy cereal when he is 4mths cos he dun really wan to drink milk in the morning. initially only give 1 teaspoon, now increase to 3 teaspoons (he is 4mths 2wks+ now)liao.

i ask my mum to let zayden sit in the bumbo seat and feed him cereal.

adel, think we got to decide which caterer to order and how much per pax liao. then those gg for lunch pay up 1st.

Depends on what u deem as expensive. I heard from my colleague tat they have packages (which will land up with cheaper price per month). I think it's more than affordable (at least cheaper than the PT I signed up for at gym). I have a bunch of colleagues takin it...

Actually i wonder if my wieght will ballon aft i stop BF. :p

I think u can solve the prob by using baby bjorn or a front facing carrier.
