Congrats to Fabbie and Reddates!

Mon went for gyane check up. baby now is 2.4kg but i didnt put on any weight. Now waiting for my next check up on 6 dec to see baby engaged anot.

if the baby eye lashes already long when born still need to trim anot? I didnt trim my boy eye lashes cos his is quite long at birth liao.

iemiko: If i'm not wrong, your contractions should last longer & stronger but the INTERVAL between them shorter & shorter.

Mum2ndx: I find my pee very dark yellow every morning when i wake up. Scary! This is despite the huge amount of water i drink daily...but only the 1st pee of the day. After that it's ok.

Fabbie: Hee...maybe Clarice's lashes still shy to see mommy!

Luthadel: Your massage lady sounds very good!!! I told my hub that you have lost all your preg weight & he was very impressed too cos it's been only bout 2 weeks!!!

Gerry: I really hope i can squeeze Preston out! I'm also petite (1.58m) & small sized. My gynae is pretty confident that i can...i wish i can be as confident as her!

Phy: Idea hor? Procrastinate until the nurse say "Too late to administer epi!"...then we really LL no choice but to go all the way w/o! haha...

i think it's usually the diameter of the bb's head and your pelvis size/shape that determine if baby can come out naturally.. not so much of the baby's weight.. just thinking logically lah..

when gynae measured my #1's head diameter, he was a bit concern if can come out naturally.. it's a bigger for asian's ave size..

also the elderly always say that big-buttock means easy delivry.. not sure how true la..

I can tell you that once they're 5 minutes apart, it's too late liao .. you'll probably give birth in the car. The minute your contractions become regular .. the intervals I mean, you MUST head down to the hospital asap. They can progress very fast and you have no way of knowing traffice conditions .. sekali there's an accident on the expressway etc.

ya, it's logical that it's the baby's head diameter that helps the doc decide whether baby can come out naturally without casuing injury to mom.

it's also your hips and pelvis as u say that determine whether you can go for natural delivery .. I have a friend who looks slim and regular sized even atheletic looking since she teaches yoga, but she had to have her kids via c-sect both times cos the doc declared her hips to be a bit on the narrow side so better to c-sect.

big bum just means fat .. like me .. lol !!!!

from ur past experiences, will you head down to the hospital ASAP when you see spottings and waterbag burst? cos usually this two cases won't meant that there's close interval of contraction, rite?

me curious lah.. coz i don't want to head down to hospital if not much contraction.. don't want to get "chained-up" to the machines.. last time, i had to wait about 11 to 12hrs to fully dilate!! did nothing else but just lying in bed hooked on to the machines.. aiyo..

wow.. went to your blog and must agree dat pretty mummy pretty BB! BB Clarice lips are soooo cute, they form a perfect "O"

envy mummies who hv popped. i have contractions from 12-2+am for the past 3 nites. each time i thot the contractions will intesify, it will die down suddenly. in the end, make me so tired (as i cud not sleep, need to keep track of the frequency of the contractions) and still have to wake up early to werk.. Gr... super sianzzz...

Echo and Pris:
ur definitely not alone in feeling low and grouchy! me for one, has been very emotional and short tempered recently. and of cos, my poor HB has to bear the brunt of my tantrums. guess he must be praying hard for me to give birth soon! hahaha... ;D

Carmen: Same here! I've been having contractions but they'll just stop. Argh...i wish they'll just get more & more regular. At least it means It's TIME!

Dee: I think everyone is different when it comes to labour. Sam has mentioned before that each of ther previous births were VERY quick...my gynae also advised me that once contractions get stronger & more regular, just head to the hosp. You'll never know how your labour will progress and/or whether medical intervention is necessary.

i agree with Pris.. u noe my colleague was scolded by the nurse cos when she rush to hospital, she alr 7cm dilated. She din realise she was having contraction cos different pain threshold.

So once u noe u r having 20 - 30 minutes interval, start preparing to leave the house..ur water bag may or may not burst..depends one lor..

wah, that one chop-chop.. no need to wait and less intervention.. i prefer actually.. go all the way natural.. hee..

i think the more active you are just before active labor, the faster you'll dilate.. if not take very long to dilate.. and once "admitted", they will not allow you to have any food till u deliver liao (regardless of how long, can be 12 or 24hrs later if opting for natural birth).. unless gynae gives green light to eat.. if not, even more jialat.. by the time u wanna push, no energy liao.. and most cases, it'll become an assisted delivery.. oh dear..

but of course once there's strong contraction, even w/o waterbag burst, MUST head down liao.. this one sure anytime will proceed to active labor..

hi hi hi !!! Just got back from my 39th week appt ..

BP on the high side but other than that .. water level good, no water retention, baby is fine .. gynae did a VE and used her fingers to "pry" open my cervix to try and start my contractions soon .. she scheduled me for an induction of the 2nd of Dec .. I have to "check-in" at 6am !!

Hopefully, I go into labour before then

Dee, for me, from past experiences, my contractions start first ... irregular then it quickly progresses to regular and the interval becomes shorter ... then in hospital my waterbag will burst ... seriously, the minute it starts and u feel that it's NOT BH, better faster RUSH down. Being hooked to machines and lying there better than giving birth in the car or road shoulder or taxi ..

I too get regular contractions that suddenly stop. These are definitely not the real thing. Gauge is that if the contractions go away when you change position etc, then its just really intense BH. Most likely, what is happening is that your cervix is being dilated slowly slowly.. Which is a good thing but damn uncomfy and painful even.

2nd baby,
Any other tricks to share to induce labour naturally?? I might get induced too and am really hoping to avoid that.

I agree with you. Would rather walk around at home then go get stuck to the machines. I was at the delivery suite from 8+am till 10pm for my #1! No food/drink, only ice chips.. no wonder i didn't have the strength to push baby out naturally.

My mil insisted i do massage in the daytime but i dun have the willpower to keep tummy bound till evening cos of the heat (i dun use aircon). Wondering if perhaps, this time around, i should massage in the evening and bind thru the night instead....?

Hmm... It's really shocking how some people actually think mothers will feel comfortable caring their breasts in front of them. I mean, on normal days, I won't even bare my bra to my good friend loh. Why they think it's ok to hang around when people are breast-feeding?

Contractions: I thought I was paranoid. I get pretty regular contractions also, especially at night and in the early mornings (or maybe that's just me not wanting to get out of bed for work). Then they suddenly go away. Most of the time, the contractions don't hurt, just leave me breathless. And hopeful that I'll go into labour!

Pris and Phy: Really ah? No epidural? I was thinking that also until I went for the BW... bahaha...then I think early use also $500; later use also $500. May as well use early... or else lugi.

I will be admitting to hospital later at 1.30am at KKH..am really excited n nervous on what's goin to happen later..well, will update all again..am bringing my lappie with me..cheers!!
