Breastfed babies should have stool that is yellow and seedy. If it's green and mucousy/stringy, it could mean that your baby is taking too much foremilk. So you should try to empty the first breast before offering him the second, so that he can reach the hindmilk. Alternatively, you can also try blockfeeding, which is to offer the same breast for consecutive feedings, until his poop is no longer green.

Are you doing direct latch or is your baby only taking expressed milk? If you are latching, maybe it's forceful letdown that causes your baby to swallow a lot of air while trying to latch.
