hi... busy the lst few weeks... joined this thread earlier but due to work cannot participate...

i did 2 vaginal scan cos' gynae wanted to make sure that feteus is in the uterus cos' I had an ectopic pregnancy last year. The 2nd Vaginal scan was to confirm the heartbeat as the abdominal scan cld not really detect it. quite a yucky experience but than it gives you a peace of mind knowing that everything is in order...
 


bear, miss ur abv question. ya, am a SAHM, but before this mth, still have a helper, but now i have to take care of my boy. He is so active now, start to walk and was curious in everything. have to chase him here n there!
 
Joyce, erm i m doing my post grad via research. but there are still modules to clear... sigh... i m only half way through..

Chillipadi, even though my gynae already saw the heartbeat at 5wk 6 days, he still use v scan for me. i think he wants to see where the haemorrhage during the last visit. hopefully tmr i can be upgraded to tummy scan. :p
 
Bear-no such good life.. me FTWM... eating snake at work lo.. counting down to going home, miss my boyboy.

bear, ic. is tough to study while preggy.. tired easily, Ya, will get a new one cos definetely cannot cope when 2nd bb is coming. I miss the day my maid is here

Enne/ Joyce, actually i m also working at the same time that i m studying.. a bit complicated but what i m studying has direct applications to my work. It is even tougher when u have to rush back for meetings and then rush back to sch for proj work. not to mention ur own personal research and fieldwork, students coming to ask u for help etc... really tiring...

Joyce, i think i need a maid too... i will be so busy studying... my MIL already said she needs a maid to help her to take care of my kid.
 
Bear, ic, sounds tough abt your work and study.
getting a maid is definetely make your life much easier esp u have a children. But sometimes also depends on luck whether can get a good one.. As u know, maid's thinking is different from us, sometimes really don't know how they think.

Dr Woody only done a v-scan for me once, cause that time my bb too small to see via normal scan. No feeling lor, except quite embarassing cause I not prepared mah...hee..

I had Csect for my #1 preg due to narrow pelvic bone.So tis #2 need to Csect too.
Even if i can opt,i still gg for Csect.Hear tat VBAC cannt used epi.So i dun wanna going thru the labour pain again :p

You sound very stress & tired to me. Is realli tough to study n work while u are preg.You got to rest as much as possible.


Any mummy will feel a sharp pain at the side of the pelvic bone when u cough?
I dun hav such problem till recently
 
Joyce, ya plenty of luck is needed when it comes to maids.. i was brought up by maids myself.. sometimes also have to thank the lucky star that all of my maids were very nice.

Happy, hahaha.. actually i m ok lah... i tend to thrive in high stress situations. When i was preparing for my wedding, i was teaching 12 hrs of tuition aft work. some how or rather, i dun like to be idle.. so far i m still managing ok and my profs know of my pregnancy so def no fieldwork for me. some of my lab mates also know so they help me to carry heavy gear.

I do have pains here and there.. but the mantra is no bleeding, DON'T WORRY!

Yeah I think for me most prob c-sect too, wads the max no of times we can c-sect? 2 or 3??

My first one oso Doc Woodworth, alot of ppls seeing him, so he always quit chop chop, but he's quite a nice Gynae.

So tired till dun feel like going to work, dunno can take 1 mth unpaid leave anot heehee...

My first one not much MS, dunno whether this time round is girl anot, keep my fingers crossed.

Bear,Carol-I'm getting quite worried abt hearing all the v-scans, bb heartbeat but I only got appt next week... do u think if I go earlier can see heartbeat?? my HB going overseas for a week the week after next and he hopes I can wait till he comes back then go for the checkup, he worried *touchwood* if bad news then at least he be by my side.. he rather I worried alone rather than have me sad alone..*touchwood again* but hor.. I can't be assured till I see my bb heartbeat lo...
 
sorry hor... me not very hot... after my daughter 4 years ago, NEVER went back to my pregnancy size. had a somewhat difficult pregnancy with my daughter. hormone jabs twice a week for the 1st six months and I balloon up due to jabs. with this pregnancy, I change gynae and my body seems fine so no jabs so far. hopefully i will be able to loose all the weight after no 2... praying very hard...
 
Hi Enne,

I've also done a v-scan on Mon coz still too small to see anything, v-scan is clearer. Hope to c bb heartbeat during next mon visit. 2nd time mum still so worried, but coz I've got a miscarrage last Oct, so abit worried.
 
Enne, think the max no. of C section is 4xs. My aunt had 4 boys all via c section. she badly wants a gal...

U haven't seen the gynae yet? hrmmm how many wks are u? i think if u no spotting, can wait till he comes back. but for me i saw my bb's heartbeat at 5wks 6 days.. may be u will be lucky.. my hb is gg for reservist for 3 wks in may.. dunno what i m gonna do without him. V scan is ok. i dun have a prob with it cos it isn't painful. i guess each time u shove something up ur vagina, sure got possibility that u will introduce bacteria/viruses.. :p

Alibaba, a little bit shd be ok. eat liao dun think abt it.. unless u wanna go to the loo and try to puke it up...
 
Bear-I saw liao last week but Dr Woody say still small cannot see heartbeat at 5wks thus ask me go back 2wks later shd be able to see, actually so far I never do v-scan b4 ler. But u say urs 5wks6days able to see, so wondering maybe I could go see him earlier??
 
enne, how many weeks are you? when I went to see my gynae at 6wks plus but cld not detect heart beat. only went back to see him 10 days later and saw the heartbeat thru' vaginal scan. it's to do with how early or late the conception took place? Sometimes late conception, the heartbeat will not be present until a week to 10 days later. just pray hard and relax. as long as u are still experiencing the preganancy symptoms, it's a good sign...
 
Enne, i have to say i had an early O date. so may be that's why i can see the heartbeat earlier. Also, if u go now and dun see anything, u will be very worried until ur hb comes back... so might as well just wait.

Actually if it wasn't for my bleeding, i would have waited till my 7th or 8th wk to see doc.

Gynec told me best is 3.The 4th one i got to deliver at your own risk.
I wanted to have 4 kids initially but nw .. haa need alot of courage and must tink twice.

Chillipadi-Yeah I feel 'assured' when I got MS coz heard MS means bb growing fine inside? So even though feel terrible but still feel good to know I am having MS... I think now shd be considered 5-6wks??

Bear-I got bleeding last mth but lasted 1 day only which I mistakenly thot was menses cycle go haywire, I told Dr Adrian he told me to monitor for any cramps or spotting but so far so good don't have lo... ok maybe wait till HB comes back lo..
 
... yah alibaba a little bit once a blue moon is perfectly fine. Before i found out my pregancy i stil go clubbing and drink.. shd be ard 3weeks plus then ba.. 不知者无罪..
 
Happy i m slping a lot now... i m a very light slper. every time it rains, i will be the only one waking up to check the windows. but recently, i have been gg to bed earlier and completely KO! dun even know when my hb comes to bed. Last time he brush his teeth i also will wake up.

Enne, that could be implantation bleeding. I had the same thing at wk 5. Wk 6 also bled for a day... but wk 7 i bled for 4 days!

My shorts very tight liao.. the rubber band part! i dunno to wear it below my tummy or abv it.. bleah...
 
Enne, just make sure you start taking your vitamins and folic acid... very impt that your take the folic acid regularly... I am taking Blackmores Pregnancy and breast feeding supplements... has everything that a pregnant woman needs....

I have spotting as well for my 2nd preg, under hormones pills, too bad my bb heart stop beating on my 12 weeks visit, so have to undergone D & C. Have to be real careful if there's spotting.

Now I've try to rest as much as possible, pray very hard
 
Reddates, u are scaring me!!! Were u spotting through out all 12 wks? or only nearer 12th wk? did ur gynae say why u are spotting?

I think I started spotting abt 6-7 weeks , all the way till 12 weeks. Tat time I've did not rest alot coz busy with work, always on the go, so this time round dun care, always rest, sick take MC . So far no spotting, just worried whether got heartbeat for my next visit anot.
Tat time was more like bleeding, like when ur menses going to be over like tat, abit, but continuosly. Gynae says there some blood clot, tat's y bleeding. This time my gyane took extra care and scan for me, Have been taking hormones pills now even though no spotting, just to take precaution.
I'm seeing TCM as well, taking AN TAI YAO. Feel better, the sinseh says my pulse is quite ok.

Reddates, i see.. i dunno if i shd rejoice or wat since i stopped spotting since Sun.. but each time i go back to work i will spot lor.. now i m worried that the heartbeat will stop too.. sigh... see lah WORRYHOOD man...

Bear-I think we better don't get too paranoid, for my first preg I keep reading those 'sad cases' in forum, making myself paranoid thus tis time round I forbide myself from anyhow surfing the forum..
 
yeah, have to keep a positive mind. I have a maid now to take care of my house, food and son, so can have plenty of rest. If it's yours it will be yours

I have craving for mee siam these 2 days. Went to eat mee siam alone yesterday at Rail mall Ah mei kaya toast. Today tabao mee siam again.

I went to Dr Woody when I was in my wk4, cant see heartbeat also. Only till Wk6 then can see, but via v-scan. Wk 8 onwards can see via the normal scan le. Dont worry so much. As long as not spotting should be fine. ^^
 
2nd time mummy.. issit true tat craving for spicy food,most pro is BOY?
haaa...

I hav craving for spicy food and many keep telling me. Is a boy!
But of coz.. i wld like to hav a mickey mouse.
 
reddates, sorry to hear your lost... had a similar experience but my 2nd pregnancy was ectopic... somehow at 7 wks, we scan and everything looked alright, saw heartbeat etc... thot everything was fine. one wk later on the eve of my business trip to HK/BJ/SH, my fallopian tube burst. had the worst pain in my life. the funnie thing was that I had no external bleeding at all, all internal. we thot I was having ,major gastric problems. after 3 hrs, the pain got worst and I was ghostly pale that my hubby rushed me to A&E at Mt A. Gynae was waiting for us, when he saw me, he prep me for emergency surgery... i lost abt 1.5 litres of blood and needed 3 bags of blood transfusion. I will never forget the pain cos it was the most excruciating one, even worst than my c-section.

Mine 2 different symptons, first one, not much MS, this time round feeling quite bad, but both got the same spicy, sour , soupy craving
