Xinying
Hee take half day leave and join us.

Dumbo
I am thinking of collecting on Friday cos two trips may freak my jo out and she may end up crying on my way to Dempsey.

hi mummies! how's everybody? i've been MIA for a while now.

guess what? i rode the mrt yesterday and somebody offered me their seat... when i told hubby he kept laughing cause he say i still look pregnant... grr.. so bad of him... have to really get rid of this tummy...

Karen,
I've got the book "First Food", find it very informative. I bought it when I was in my 1st trimester at $2 in brand new condition at a charity sale held outside Hougang Mall, don't know why it's tagged so cheaply at $2...

Hi Mummies,
As usual so many posts! Minibee asleep already and I am still waiting for hubs to come home so some spare time to log in.

Carrier/Sling...
Mint, after seeing how u look so carefree carrying Regina in your Ergo on our Vivo outing I got inspired and decided to take Minibee out today on Baby Bjorn. We only went out for 3 hours or so and now my back is aching!!! How do u manage?? To think minibee is considered on the small/light side, cannot imagine mummies with bigger bbs and using their slings/carriers!

Elch, that's a real steal! I bought "First Foods" for $20 plus. Yes, its a really informative book as in infuses the asian recipes and debunk asian old wive's tales on weaning.

Karen, really? When I was preggers and looking for a carrier some of my mom friends recommended it. They swear by it, raving on the safety catch and attachments that the bjorn has. Sigh... gonna try my Balboa. Hope it doesn't fail me. Otherwise I may need to sell off the Bjorn and get a better carrier. Saw one with memory foam shoulder straps!!! Since u have quite a number of carriers and slings, which carrier do u think I should trade my bjorn for?

busy bee
Yah, the Bjorn is no good, both for the baby (this is what deterred me) and the carrier. But yes, I love the buckles and the knobs. They're so easy to use! A pity though. I think you should go for either the Beco or Ergo. But sigh, as I mentioned, the buckles on the Bjorn is second to none. Once you try the others, you will get what I mean.

kylie/dumbo/mint
I know you all are night owls. So in case I don't catch you three, I see you all at B&J tomorrow ok? Hmm, any one made the booking?

dum dee dum (trying to post as much as I can so that I can reach 2000 posts and become intermediate member; whatever that means but it sounds good and I want it).

Karen, guess every carrier has its pros and cons huh. Must go try the Ergo or Beco out now. I like one step behind all u mummies! hahah..... Is the weight limit higher for Ergo and Beco? Shall go research.

enya
So ok for me to collect the connecta from you on Friday morning? Or anytime Friday. Just need an excuse to step out of house.

<-- just spent a big amount of money on a bag because it was heavily discounted and now really feeling the guilt eating away at her. Wait till the cc bill comes, and the bao qing tian face will come out.

So she must now act super tired/super stressed (over maid) so that when bill comes, bao qing tian face will become mother teresa face and mother teresa kindness will say, "Let me pay for it!"

Wahhaahahhaha. Post #1970! Yay, 30 more to go.

karen - what is the diffce btw a gd carrier and a pouch like the one Dumbo is selling? If nd to get 1, which shld I get?

Ruffles
hmm, actually I thought the pouch/ring slings will cause me pain but if used correctly, they're actually pretty good. They're really easy and flexible too. But I think their main con is the real pain will come (for the carrier) once baby gets heavier, like toddlers? Still, toddlers are a handful bunch. They want to be up and down quite often (ha ha ha no experience but so I heard) so the convenience of the pouch/sling is really good. Just that it weighs down on the carrier.

On the other hand, carriers such as ergo and beco are really good. Because the weight distribution is over shoulder(s!!) as well as hip. If I'm not carrying my handbag, I can easily not feel any aches, even after 3-4 hours of non-stop supporting (meaning no sitting down). And they really, really shine in back-carrying. If you feel no pain front-carrying, wait till you try back-carrying! The weight is felt even less. I can't wait to back-carry my girl (crossing my fingers and toes she'll like). But they're troublesome to let your baby climb in and out. More so for the Beco because of the interior cloth.

And also, aesthetically, I find the pouch/sling much pleasing. Hee.

(if I break this into posts, I can reach 2000 already!).

Ruffles
Oh realise I didn't answer your question per se. Sorry lei, I can't decide for you. You must think what's most important. For me, a sling is a must for me to use for short trips or at home. For long trips, I need one of those good supportive carriers.

karen - i c. I like the pouch cos v pretty. A bit wary about carriers cos seem so difficult to slip the baby in.Sigh

Hi mummies, can i join in the chat? My baby born in Oct 08 as well
