Ruffles
hmm, actually I thought the pouch/ring slings will cause me pain but if used correctly, they're actually pretty good. They're really easy and flexible too. But I think their main con is the real pain will come (for the carrier) once baby gets heavier, like toddlers? Still, toddlers are a handful bunch. They want to be up and down quite often (ha ha ha no experience but so I heard) so the convenience of the pouch/sling is really good. Just that it weighs down on the carrier.
On the other hand, carriers such as ergo and beco are really good. Because the weight distribution is over shoulder(s!!) as well as hip. If I'm not carrying my handbag, I can easily not feel any aches, even after 3-4 hours of non-stop supporting (meaning no sitting down). And they really, really shine in back-carrying. If you feel no pain front-carrying, wait till you try back-carrying! The weight is felt even less. I can't wait to back-carry my girl (crossing my fingers and toes she'll like). But they're troublesome to let your baby climb in and out. More so for the Beco because of the interior cloth.
And also, aesthetically, I find the pouch/sling much pleasing. Hee.
(if I break this into posts, I can reach 2000 already!).
