yes.. long time no see. was busy looking ard for interior designers for my new place.. Haier living is still my 1st choice cos they did for me previously for my changi rise unit. at that time, their office was still in Geylang. now they hv expanded and shifted to Amoy St, more expensive le. but i hv full trust in them. so in the end, will be going back to them though they may be slightly more expensive. they are true designers.. can draw 3D layout infront of you. all their designers hv at least a diploma in interior design. i highly recommend them. you can look for Ivan Teo 98502654 and tell him Yvonne from Changi rise and Tembeling Road unit recommended.

avalyn, i cancelled my order cos i was looking for the Dash deluxe in denim,. unfortunately, the BP supplier do not carry that. so i decided to get from diaperbags.com. They are selling the dash deluxe in denim very cheap. if you go to the skiphop website, u need to add $11 for Denim material

on cordblood banking, hubby and I are still undecided on it. think we're likely to give it a miss.

someone mentioned they will buy more insurance instead of banking cordblood, I think the insurance payout is handy for treatment, but you still need a compatible donor or better still, if you did cord blood banking, you can use that for stem cells transplant. It's 2 different things in a way. Sometimes, you can have the money for treatment but there are no suitable match.

Can someone who signed up share the cost over the years with us?

On transplants, note that the stem cells are usually not a match if the baby has some generic disease. It is more useful if one has 2 or more children, &amp; stem cells from one baby can be used for another sibling.

For CordLife, since they started in Spore about 6 years ago, none of the clients have been able to find a match. The only case was when one of their customers' 1st born needed a transplant &amp; they had another baby to use the cells from baby no. 2 (not stored cells but fresh cells) for baby no. 1.

Total cost for storage is about $6k+ for 18-21 years.
Up to u really, but I would rather make sure i get insurance coverage for transplant (cost of getting stem cells from non-family is $26k in Spore, more if a match is from overseas).</font>

donating to public bank - does it mean when u need the stem cells, you will get to find a suitable donor from the bank? for those who did not donate you do not get the benefit?
 
Lim (xuanmommy) - i spoke with the lady from the public bank some time back - they will meet up to pass the collection kit &amp; the gyne (private/public hospital) can do the collection as per normal. Don't have to deliver in a public hospital.
 
Bigtoes: You know if we need to attend any talk if we want to donate to public bank? My SIL said must. How can we go about making arrangements to donate to public bank? I'm intending to do it.

<font color="119911">bacon&amp;egg (baconegg) - for the public bank, if u need stem cells, u can use ur own donation for $4500 (if that is still unused). If that is not a match, and if u are lucky enough to find a match from their pool of 3000-4000 donations, then cost = $26k to use it.

The public is open to use the donation, just that if u are using ur own, its $4500 vs $26k. Btw, the likelihood of your donation being used by someone else is realistically quite low - think they had one match todate only, meaning almost all the 3000-4000 donations are still unused. Both CordLife &amp; public bank ladies told me that 99.9% of the time u need to look overseas for a donor match, not in Spore.

SarahMay (sarahmay) - not sure about a talk, but yes, they need to meet up with u before signing on as a donor to ask some questions &amp; make sure the donor is not a carrier of any infectious diseases etc...sort of like an appraisal before they can accept your donation.</font>

SarahMay: I didn't know Nepia got wipes too! If they do, the pricing is very good! But not sure about the quality.

FITTI: I was at Carrefour yday and they're having promo, Fitti is $13.50 for sizes. I didn't get as my hubby was naggy, saying there's no world war coming, no need to stock up you know! Anyway, I got 2 samples from the lady. Usual price is $14.90 at Kiddy palace, for small size it's 48 pieces.

PETPET: it's the same company as Fitti! But I think Fitti quality is better, they have this contour comfit fit thing at the waist, which is like an elastic band. Kiddy Palace selling Petpet at promo price of $7.80 for 46 pieces, in small. Didn't check out other sizes.
