Hello gals, I am back home by now. Checkout out of TMC Hotel yesterday afternoon, same day as Tera.
Ok, overall info is, VBAC succeeded, thus its Natural+Epi+Vacuum (in case of old c-sect wound rupture via hard pushes). Baby Vivienne borned on 07/06/08, 10.33pm, 2.72kg & 47cm
My experience.... all on 07/06/08 (Saturday)
8.30am - Was already awake but still lazing in bed. Then felt a gust of waterlike discharge on pad (normally white discharge i had and felt its more like thicken mucus, but this one is very watery feel). Went to toilet, saw a bit pinkish. No problem and panic, since I am going for my gynae appt at 10plus.
9am - 10.25am - Went about nagging hb and son while steaming bakzhangs for breakfast. When for a good bath before we reach gynae's clinic 5 mins late than appt time.
11.00am - Suppose to give gynae on my decision of whether to induce or not that day, but told him i have watery discharge which seems pinkish, he did a VE test, use a cottonbud with a solution, told me if he sticked it into my V and if its out black, that means waterbag bursted/leaking. True enough, its black, he checked if I hv contraction pains, told him mild menses cramp, gave me till 2.30pm to check into hosp. He told me go have a bday celebration with hb first before checking in. He even did a prayer for me, hoping that my wish for natural birth will be fulfilled. I was diluted 2cm.
11.30am - Went home, did final packing, hb clearing stuff in house, etc. 12.00pm, on way to my mum's house for her bakzhang and my hb bday cake which was to be delivered there.
12.30pm - Had porridge, 1 bakzhang, very full. also two small cups of tiramisu, no coffee though, coz finished by my parents, haiz. Sang song and cut the durian cake for everyone except me coz i no eat durian. At 2.20pm, left for hospital with hb and son.
Check in at 3.00pm. 3.30pm goes into labour ward. 4pm on drip, hb came in accompany me whereas son was picked up by in laws. I was still diluted at 2cm.
5pm - Labour kicked in, being very mild for every 20 mins. By 6pm, labour was like every 3-2mins, not intense.
7pm, Diluted at only 3cm, contraction pains was very intense, every minute interval. Used gas, no use, more miserable and blur. Gynae came and told me, he offering epi and some food before epi inject. I refused food, but signed form for epi. Thanks god, the anest for epi came 20mins later before his dinner, Joked, gave info on epi during administering. Joked again, well wishes then left. By 8pm, relieved, but felt slight contraction pains only. Managed to sleep a little bit. I was also shivering a bit due to epi.
At 9.00pm - Afternoon shift nurses came in, I diluted 7cm, so wait.
9.30pm - 9.45pm - Night nurse came in, fully diluted, she wanted me to try pushing coz waterbag still there not fully cleard of water. Gynae called, she told him stay home wait. Started to push whenever a contraction came in. pushed till see baby's head (told me full of hair), gynae came in at 10.00pm. Pushed and pushed at every contraction (around 5 times), during interval, can feel baby shifting her position. When finally baby is out at 10.33pm with help of vacuum, she was facing top (gynae said no wonder, pushed for so long then she came out). Immediately gynae threw her to me, her eyes so big and later meowed till cry loud.
Stitched and chat with gynae while baby was cleaned up. Towards end, the nurse got me to latch her on and after 1/2hr later, was pushed up to my ward.
Overall, gynae told me, i experienced c-sect, normal, labour pains, epi and vacuum of baby, I should be very experience liao. Told him no use, this gonna be last manufactured product.
I am now trying to increase milk flow as latching Vivienne on. Still only very little trickles, drinking more liquids and eat more fish.
