Haha.... HR does the same, he is more interested in the pen - biting, trying to open it, etc, than using it to draw. Actually I don't find aqua doddle fun leh, cos not colourful, a bit regretted buying it. I would rather he gets dirty and have fun with the crayons, pencil, pen, etc.

Kam, read your persistence on bf, kudos!! Well done leh, sure you can do it for at least 6 months, for the sake of xiyu. You are right, maybe by bf xiyu, she will not have eczema. Actually one thing that you shd even need to bf more is because xy is still on medication. So bm is better than fm. Ok I know you are pretty stressed, but I know you have been all along a very positive lady, the most positive lady that I have ever known. so jiayou!
Icy, imo, if the temperature has gone down to 37.5, can don’t give liao.
Steph, I bought washable crayola, I bot from one of the mummies. I forgot how much I paid liao leh. Cuz I bot quite some time liao and only collected yesterday. But I know it was good! Shaun drew circle when I taught him to draw circle. Then I drew lots of fruits and he was excited too hehe.

I guess it doesn't matter which method or discipline technique we use, the key is to be consistent. All these tantrums, etc are a test of our limits and reactions. So long as we are consistent all the time, they will come to realise that all the crying and tantrums will not get them what they want. But IF we give in once or twice, then more tantrums will follow cos they know our limits can be stretched and they'll just continue to try their luck too see how far they can go.

B will start attending a daily 2-hr playgroup with Tots House next year. It's $380 per term (10 weeks). The curriculum is not fantastic lah but I just want him to gain some independence away from me. The 2 teachers look very experienced with children (both aunties) and the kids there look very happy to attend the class. Anyway they're only 2 years old so really no hurray to rush them in their learning, just let them go and play play lor

Just brought B to compass point for the Sesame Street show. So surprised that he was so focused for the entire 25 mins. Think he was a little surprised to see such a big elmo appear...heehee. Too bad the show at 1pm was meant for MINDS students so we couldn't line up to shake hands with Elmo and gang

I have not checked the playgroup near my house yet. I think most playgroups are $100 to $150/mth bah... Even exp also no choice right? I think I will only start enrolling my girl next year and let she start in 2011. Meanwhile, next year she will still have her weekly music class. I don't have much choice but to choose a playgroup near my house. Coz must make it convenient for my ILs to fetch her.

My girl likes to draw too. I bought those magnetic board for her to draw and erase. She likes to push the sweeper to erase all those things I draw for her. But she likes circle. She always said "ball ball ball ball". She can hold a pen pretty well too, but only knows how to scribble.

the washable crayola sounds fun but i scare Z will bite the crayons/pen. Anything new, he'll sure explore with his hand, follow by mouth...he can bite/chew paper/plastic bag & also the aluminium cover of the yakult bottle??Aiyo...headache le.

Icy, hope Xavier is ok with augmentin. RaeAnne hates the taste too and she gets diarrhoea from it, so does mummy. 
Now, RaeAnne's fav book are the 3 pelangi books that I got through Tongtong. 我的爸爸，我的玩具熊不见了，一只大肥猫。She likes us to read about how the Daddy interacting with the boy, flip to last page and find the bear and flip to the page where the fat cat is given medicine by the doctor. haha.
The other book she enjoys is the Usborne book 100 words sticker book cos I let her help stick on the stickers.

Same here. My whole family and my ILs' family think that next year is still too early for my girl to enter into playgroup. Kept asking me to delay until 3YO too. Initially, they thought my girl was too young for the weekly music class too. But I insisted on this one and hubby thought since only once a week so agreed with me. If everyday's class, hubby will disagree too.

mine is not the same leh but its more like a thin pc of paper and i stick onto the wall. and pass the pen to my boy to draw. he loves drawing. i got from the http://www.aquadoodle.com/ there

actually i was thinking whether there is really a 'appropriate' timing/age deem fit (child 100% ready) for cc/playgp. No right? I think no matter when (early/late) we decide to enrol our child into cc/playgp, kids will tend to fall sick etc, is inevitable. This is the main concern my PIL is worry. Perhaps is separation anxiety from my PIL since they took care of Z since he was a baby...i can understand la...me also bu she de but we gotta let them (our child) learn to be independent one day. I am still contemplating...

Steph, yea I hope shaun wont put crayola into his mouth too, plus point is the crayola is made from non toxic material. You know this morning, he took my facecream and tasted some!! I quicky asked him to gargle and spit. Luckily he knows how to spit becus he has started brushing teeth .

$27.42. its quite big pc, ard mahjong paper?
im thinking $27 let him doodle for so much. ok lah
one day, my fren was visiting x, then x was drawing on the wall mat. he placed his palms on the mat and tried to do something. me and my fren were puzzled dunno what he wanted. actually he wanted to trace out the shape of his palm + fingers. i taught him once long long ago and i oredi forgotten liao. wah lau, he still remembers

I would say kids have selective memorary...hahaha! They are like a sponge now so they absorb whatever we teach/tell/show them but we'll only be able to see the results when they become more vocal/expressive. So we gotta teach and talk to them as much as possible now.

It's the same for me too... Still thinking whether to put my gal to cc or playgroup. Been ard looking for cc and found Kinderland at Upp Changi Rd not too bad.. but being receiving feedbacks from parents that it's too early/young to put her in a full day cc. so poor thing...
den talentplus near my plc is the next choice for 2hrs daily. but many kids in a class. dunno if it's really useful for it. headache!

I signed up tothouse playgroup for my boy starting in Jan 2010. It is conducted at the RC few blocks away. $330 per term, $20 per set of uniform and $30 registration fee. it is just 1.5 hrs only. I just send him there to play with other kids and "socialise" lor. Not so concern on the quality of things taught and to relieve my mum a little time to relax/do her own stuff.

Godsent: i went to e kinderland at loyang pt and my boy keep pushing mi to e door said let go let go.. so far i like e place and principal but e playgroup teacher not so gd as i saw 1 girl with running nose and nobody bother... althot dat day only 3 in e class. e poor little girl was licking her own mucus.

pixel: the auqa doodle wall mat you bought considered good deal I am looking for one but the price is quite high, AUD39.99 per piece at Toys r us. ;-( Cant bring myself to buy this yet.
