Don't think will miss them the 1st week, quite glad to get a break from them for now. And will see them in the evening anyway.

Hao Re goes back this Friday. My girl will be going to a nanny on this Friday too.

Kam ML ends this week but she take A/L next week & start work on 26th Oct. HR will be back to school (CC) this Friday while her girl starts with her nanny this Friday.

You can buy those mosquito repentlent device that can attach to switches. I find them very useful and put them in the bedroom where my girl sleeps. If outside, you can apply powder or Lu Yi Oil on their limbs as the smell will get rid of mosquito.

Next week will be 2 weeks already. My parents will be leaving next Thursday **sob sob**. They are rushing back to KL cos my SIL also delivered a baby boy, about 1 month later than me.

My hb bought a ultrasonic insects repeller 4 years ago from home-fix. The package claimed this tiny, battery-powered device was “safe and effective,” and I figured it was worth finding out if I could get relief without all the chemicals. When I took the device out of its package, the first thing I noticed was that it had not only an on-off switch but a frequency dial. We are not using it now cos it's not very effective against mosquito but ants maybe cos we realized no ants at home after we installed this device in our living room. We also scared the frequency dial may be bad for our tod & baby's hearing/brain etc so hb removed it liow.
 
Grumpus, krystle, Steph, I bought one of those ultrasonic device from BP too, attached to wall switch (not battery powered). THink it helps cos for my gal's afternoon naps, we never apply the J&J mosquito lotion but so far no mosquito bites. Last time, even when we switch on the fan, she can kenna mosquito bites. We still on the fan for her though. :p

mine got both ways, can be wall switch or battery powered. My area not much mosquito but alot of Big lizards crawling around my estate wall! If cooling/after raining season, the open field opposite my living room will hear crickets making loud noise in the night & some flying bugs...i hate it...gotta ask hb to catch it for me!
 
steph, both ways, that's good, can use even when outdoors. I only bought 1 device last time so now that RaeAnne is sleeping in the baby's room, my room has no protection against mosquitoes. Haha. :p
 
My mosquito device is not battery operated too. I never thought if the chemical is unsafe for my kids or not... But think should be fine bah... At least after using, really no mosquito.

thanks for your advise. we have those attach to the wall socket type also. but the prob now is when she go into the garden. maybe can try one of those battery operated type, i will look out for one. in the meantime, maybe i will try dabbing some ru yi oil on her ankles and wrists when she go out, never thought of it!

Krystle, I thought the ultrasonic device works on frequency to 'drive' away mosquitoes. A bit like those dog whistles that humans can't hear. A frequency that humans can't hear should also be safe for kids and babies bah. I use it every night for RaeAnne leh. :p

I think there are some wipes or solutions can apply for anti mossies. Dunno if they work. I can't really tahan the smell.

im just referring to generic roadside stalls selling food lah...not a perm fixture on any place. i think almost everywhere oso have leh...once evening time liao the carts will appear

She gets bites at home? if it is, clean up the place, esp the dark corners, mossies love to hide there. I put those electric thingy, everyday change a piece of thing inside. Seems ok

she gets bitten at my mum's place. no matter how well my maid clean still got mossies. but at home with the mosquito patch still ok. she gets bitten when in the garden....
 
grumpus, write in to Minstry of environment to complain ur mum plac lots of mossie. it works! they very 'on', will immediate take actions.

no use one leh....my mum's area dengue hot zone. my father kenna dengue before. many of our neighbours also got family members who got dengue.
MOE always come and inspect, always got fumigation but STILL have mossies!!

i think my girl's blood very sweet or wat cos she's always the one that gets bitten.
