i second what tongtong said. Last time Rylee's jaundice also very high. End up, we stayed an extra day in TMC cos i was TBF. On the 5th day, the level got lower, so can discharge, but on chkup, went up high again. PD gave us 3 options, either admit the baby and we go to and fro to deliver milk, mommy admit together with baby or last option, rent machine to do the phototherapy ourselves at home. But he cautioned us that the last option is only for parents who can be consistent becos understandably, lying in a hot machine is very uncomfortable so he said some parents, baby cry little bit, will keep taking baby out, thus making the therapy ineffective. So must rem not to keep taking baby out except for feeding time. We opted to rent the machine and took turns to watch over her. Cos my pumping output sucks back then (how to deliver milk??) and to admit again with baby will cost $$$. Anyway, do what u deem fit, if u let Xiyu take FM during this period MUST rem to pump like as though baby is feeding to maintain supply if u want to contd BF her when she's out.
I rem last time when i was BF Rylee during the early weeks, she was feeding VERY frequently and pretty long too. Her latch was good (given she was out by csect and didnt get to suck for the 1st hour of birth) but long. Sometimes u'd think she's still sucking, but she's actually switched to comfort suck without u realising it. I rem not knowing anything on BF and read that during early days it's 2 hours interval, not knowing that the 2 hours is counting from the time baby STARTS sucking and not the end of feeding time, so effectively when baby takes an hour to eat (she sometimes eat 30mins each side), at the end of it i only have 1 hour rest in between! Such is my inexperience.

got ur email...will reply later yah! Regarding tantrums, what i will do is to get down to her height level and calmly tell her i cannot understand her when she's crying. I try to see why she cry...for Xavier, u oredi know what triggered it ie cannot fit puzzle etc, so tell him u know and understand why he's feeling frustrated, confused, etc....Label his feelings but tell him that he cant solve things this way etc. Give him an explanation. I read our toddlers altho cant speak well yet, understands much more than we think they do. I try this way and i do find it easier to manage Rylee's outbursts. She can still cry but shorter and shorter time to diffuse.
