Hehe, pixie, you same as my hubby. He doesn't drink coffee either. He only likes green tea. :p

Thanks, pixie, blessedbaby. But I prefer to get a dedicated GPS system cos hp screen very small. Very difficult to see as you drive. :p Okie, will look out for Tomtom. The other day, NTUC was having a sale for GPS sytem but I don't know if it's good. Forgot the brand also. :p

Steph, thanks for reminding me. I haven't even gone to get the safety feature from Kaki bukit yet. Too many things on my mind. You've gotten it? Is it free? Can give me the contact again? Thanks.

Pauline

Morning, mummies!

KItsune,
Got to take care, ok?

Pixie,
Drink red bull or chicken essence bah...

Came back from the cruise. Find it ok but won't be going unless bringing my kids or whole family the next time. Just eat and sleep the whole time until my hubby had indigestion. Hahahah...

I had a busy weekend with my kids. On Sat morning, brought my girl to her music class @ Seimpi. My parents popped by to see how she is doing in class and also brought her milk bottle which I left at their house during my cruise trip. Then we went to T3 y'day. Thought the playground is big but quite disappointed. My girl is timid and did not dare to go into the playground for too long either. But luckily the airport is big enough for her to run about freely and she also took her first train ride via Skytrain.

krystle
i like cruising the airport but a bit bo liao nothing to do except letting my boy run ard and let him sit on the rides, or the playground. and the skytrain. the only perk is *perking up now* i can drink a cup of bubble tea from each-a-cup hohoho

pixie,
how abt Shokudo restaurant at HMV? the place is big, enough to sit many people, if u guys dun mind japanese food like marche style.

morning mummy!

Kitsune,
Speedy recovery for RaeAnne! Fever has gone means she has fighted off the bugs liao!

Brought HR to the Juzmusic trial yesterday. My hubby accompanied him to the class, he said it's ok, not bad. But he thinks that with that kind of activities that they do, $420 per term ($140 per month) is quite ex woh. So most likely won't sign him up for now, maybe after CNY.

Brought him to swimming also yesterday morning after stopped going for about 3-4 months! Thought he might be scared of the water (cos he didn't want to go in to the water when we were at Penang, but that was by the beach). Wah, this boy ah, it's truely a water boy. The dad and son were in the water for more than 1 hour. Towards the end, hubby brought him to slide down the spiral slide and ended up in the 1m pool. He was not scare at all, with his whole body immerged halfway inside the pool, and said 还要. So hubby just lifted him up and dropped him inside the pool, he floated up and looked a bit shocked, then smiled/laughed and said 还要, faint! My digicam ran out of battery at the very moment, duh, will try to capture one this week then you know what I mean :)

Maybe for now will bring him to swim (which he really enjoys and provides an excellent bonding time for the pair) once a week and put on hold the music class for now. Don't want to exhaust him out :)

Kam, I also tot 420 is expensive. Not sure whether kindermusik is cheaper? I’m surprised that Shaun followed through the class although in the beginning he did not want to go in because he saw the barney car outside, and wanted to go out. I think the trial was pretty good, at least Shaun participated. I think HR din smile in the class yesterday , must be very tired after the swim.

He was happy eating komala’s chapatti after the trial, and tried the curry too, which was too hot and spicy for him, and kept drinking water haha. After that we went to see the xmas lighting at orchard, and he enjoyed it a lot. Eh, how come you know that’s my mum?? And she commented that you are a very smart looking person wor, then I told her of course la, you were from Cambridge leh!! hehe

tongtong,
Oh, you noticed HR didn't smile huh. But that's already very good leh compared to the last trial class he attended. Maybe he is like that, very timid in a classroom environment. He is more of a outdoor person. After the class, he was very happy walking around and stopped at almost every shop (gosh, there are so many toy shops there!) Luckily didn't ask us to buy anything (his fav is Thomas now, and there are lots of Thomas there). Then we went to have dinner at the Botanical Garden, and let him walk/run around the park before called it a day. Tiring but fun!

Your mum told me (proudly) that the boy in grey shirt is her grandson. Then I was like oh, I know him (you). Then we started to chat a bit lor.

Think the SIEMPI is cheaper? Krsytle said it's $100 per month if I remember correctly?

Kam, I think HR was tired la. Shaun was also running around and din’t want us to hold him too. He looked very excited wor. jumping from one car to another also. As for the seimpi class, you din go for trial too right. Then cant compare also leh.

When we were back, he wanted to shower with me, so we went in together and he shower himself and me!! Cuz he refused to give me the shower head. And finally he slept at 830. It was good to tire him out. Haha. Next week my hubby is not working on Saturday, wanna go East Coast?

Kam: Johanna loves to play with Thomas train too. She even can assemble the track by herself and spends for about 45 mins to 1 hr just to play around with the trains and track! She also takes care/ truck to run around the track as well. Wonder if its normal for girl to play with Thomas toys. Hahaha.
I think partly coz she just doesn't like simple toys anymore- at least Thomas toys can help her playing with new ideas every time she tries to set it up.

blessedbaby,
HR is pretty crazy about Thomas (and other engines) now. He hasn't touched his other toys for the longest time, all gathered dust already, he only plays with Thomas and puzzlez nowadays. Brought some new puzzle and some new IQ games and some sticker books for him last Saturday from Popular. Hubby doesn't want to buy more Thomas, cos he said it's ex :p

Jess / tongtong,
Ya, we can go for a picnic! This weekend is long weekend leh! But I cannot confirm which day yet, cos I have friends from Malaysia visiting us this week.

Kam: same for Johanna!!! She doesnt like those toys with simple touch & play buttons anymore. She likes puzzle too. ;-) Same here, I just bought for her some memory card games to play with.
Unlike to your hubby, my hubby loves to see her playing with Thomas toys coz she will make the sounds as she pushes the train along. My hubby asked me if i can go and get one more set of the track for her to make it complete. ;-)

One of my hubby' friend spends more than 1K on Thomas toys for himself and his son. Faint. This toy is really expensive. ;-(

Blessedbaby,
I am the one who don't mind spending toys for HR :) But before I physco hubby to buy more Thomas, I will read up more on Thomas first, see which ones are more educational and more of those collectable sets :)

For books and puzzles, no need to have second thoughts, I can just buy buy buy :)

Good morning mummies,

Long time no chat! Wow, your tots are great now, can even play with puzzles, IQ games and memory cards games. my girl can't even sit through for flashcards, still running around everyday only.

Kam: hi 5!! I am the one who is crazy abt buying toys for my girl too. So is my hubby. He also can be crazy when he goes shopping- not for our stuffs but Johanna's. ;-)))

I am not going into collectible toys coz I don't have this hobby habit. so just buy simple set to encourage little one on imagination/ creativity.

Luca,
I signed up my girl for MIM Jumpstart (11mths to 23 mths). The teacher told me that the class will be ongoing as the activities will be pretty much consistent. Students will just attend and then proceed to MIM Playtime which is more structure and students may feel a bit lost if join in the middle. At least my girl and I did not felt lost for Jumpstart.

Kam,
Seimpi fees is dependent on the teacher's level who is teaching the class.

Teacher - $100/mth
Master Teacher - $120/mth
Master Trainer - $140/mth

Since my girl's teacher is master teacher, so the fees are $120/mth (= $360/term which is 3 mths). I think it is much cheaper than most enrichment classes I came across. Juzmusic is $420? Sounds like middle range bah... Coz JG class is even more, $500+/term right? Most classes are taught by either teacher or master teacher. Coz I think there are only 2 master trainers in Seimpi @ Funan.

I forgot how much is Kindermusik fees. I think the trial class is $25. But the fees, I can't remember if it is $250/mth or $250/term... Till now they still have not called me up for trial class and I think getting into it is quite tough.

haiyoh i really going crazy liao
today my boy has been throwing tantrums non stop. ask him to sleep in my usual stern voice, he cry heaven and earth until wanna puke liao. usually not like that, dont know why today keep crying and getting pek chek....
i oso pek chek, i throw him into the playpen let him cry. then i told him once he's finished being pity for him ownself liao then can stand up, mummy will then take you off the playpen

haha. i very cruel

afterwhich he promptly fell alseep in my arms. chey! tired still want to act tough

pixel: it's normal for your boy to behave like that. Maybe because of the bizy activities on the weekend therefore they tends to need more sleep on the next day of which my girl often like that on Monday or Sat. ;-) She only take one nap on normal days/ but on super tired days, she will act tough to let us know she needs more sleep. ;-) Its normal, no need to worry much ok

i think they are getting nearer and nearer to their 'terrible two'. my son also very very bad tempered recently, cry until like nobody's business. no way to calm him down type.
i also no choice but to let him cry until he enough le then i pick him up....

cheryl

u got iphone liao rite heeeheee

download blackrain and run it.
but hor, coz 3gs is still new, so only blackrain can be used but then if you switch off your phone, cannot be switched on again. need to connect your hp to itunes and run blackrain again in order to work

On TERRIBLE TWOS.......

Taken from a website - "Characterized by toddlers being negative about most things and often saying 'no', the terrible twos may also find your toddler having frequent mood changes and temper tantrums. To help you cope with this normal stage in your child's development, you should always remember that your child isn't trying to be defiant or rebellious on purpose. He is just trying to express his growing independence and doesn't have the language skills to easily express his needs. This can also be the reason why your toddler frequently gets frustrated and resorts to hitting, biting, and temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way."

Me and hubby agreed that letting him cry is not going to help him develop/learn. What we do is we will ask him one by one, what does he want exactly. What to eat? Play? Watch TV? Go out?.... If none is his answer, then we will try distract him by offering him something else. Yes, it's not easy, and it's really testing our patient, but guess that's a job of a parents, isn't it? Else, who can help/guide him?

kam, i used the same approach as u. i will ask him strings of questions too until he nods his head hhee. but i often guess correctly leh, hehe

Kam
ask already.. but he just keep crying.. hahaha.. so no choice really... have to carry, give biscuits.. try everything lor. if nth works, bo bian... let him finish crying then talk to him.

talking about hitting.. biting.. Javier duno learn from where how to pinch ppl... so painful.. ooch...!!!...

Kam I agree with you .... i always asked Tt what she wants when she throw tantrums now she always like lying down on the floor if she cannot get anything she wants. I dun care I will let her lying there I dun care and after a while she sees no one come to her she stand up by her own and then I will start asking her what she wants and is not rite lying down on floor.

kam, agreed too.
ask him until my head wanna burst liao. most of the time my repeating sentence is "pls point to mummy"...
just now is dont want to sleep. that one i cannot. no matter how hard he cry, still must sleep. whenever he cry, he will spit some saliva too. *faint*

now he guai guai coz watching counting video

pixie,
I have similar problem when comes to sleeping, started Sunday before last. Previously, gave him his milk feed, then he would guai guai go in to bedroom to sleep (with my accompany) and would KO in 10-30min. But now, every night asking him to sleep is a struggle. The first night, cried for 1 hour!!! Then still don't want to sleep. We gave in, let him come out to the living room and see what he want. Want nothing leh, just don't want to sleep. Second night, cried for 30min, same thing. Third night, brought him to the bedroom, insisted that he cannot go out anymore, it's time to sleep. He cried loudly, I have to continuously talk to him, soothe him, praise him being a good boy, etc, he calmed down, stopped crying and slept in the next 5 min. Until yesterday, it's still the same, have to force him to the bedroom, he cried for a while, then I talked and soothed him, and he felt sleep quickily. But hor, now cannot just sleep by his side and accompany him, must carry him and pat pat him like when he was still a baby. Hope he gets over this phase soon..... my back is hurting :-{

kam
haiyoh!! ^5 leh!! i got the same on friday that just passed!!
go into the room, usually with me accompanying him he will KO in 30mins. but keep crying and wanted to go out. but since we have switched off all the lights and closed the main door, nothing for him to see...he just kept wandering around the house for 20mins. then coaxed him into the room, wah, kept crying. finally i closed the masterbedroom door, then he finally got the idea that he has to sleep...
then sat night, same thing. heng we closed the bedroom door in advance.

nowadays must carry him, or rock him in my arms etc...cannot pat pat and say "its ok, go back to sleep, guai" etc. die die must carry
my back and legs oso hurting too :-(

aiyoh our boys got the same problems leh...

steph
yes wfh today with my boy. sighs. today is one of the most % of tantrums thrown. headache

too much cartoon i think. just now my boy wants to watch tv instead of sleeping.
weekend oso want to watch tv instead of sleeping...

just now my mil (after lunch) say switch on cartoon. i quickly told her "dont need, he's going to sleep soon liao"....
i think JE is cartoon-land ley. dont start about my niece. she forever watching tv

my niece's schedule since today and typically in a day:
whole morning: tv & play
ard 10.30-11: draw some rubbish, insisted by my mil. coz sil shut herself in the room, abandon her child.
11.30: lunch
12.30: sleep
3: wakie liao, starting to watch tv now liao...
5.30: dinner
6.30: more tv and play.

finally sleep

really wasting the precious first 5 yrs

kam, pixie,
Z also behave exactly like what u said last month. Usually hb will accompany him Zzz but he kept crying, whining non-stop & wanting to go out of his bedroom...he will say kai kai aka open the door. We opened loh & see what he want. The living room all lights off liow...he see dark dark & no one outside then willingly back into his room, soothe him then sleep. No need to carry, rock/pat him but gotta let him roll ard/abt (somersault) on his mattress & he'll climb on hb's body & cling onto hb's legs then Zzz. Cannot reposition him else he sure cry again. Hb just let it be until he deep sleep liow then carry/adjust him lie down on the mattress loh. Hb also complaining back suan (pain) & legs cramp:p But luckily it's just a passing phase, now no more *fingers crossed*.

i read somewhere that part of the terrible twos is resisting sleep....cos this is the age our toddlers start to assert themselves, deciding what to wear, what to eat, what to play...and unfortunately deciding when to sleep too.

my girl also loves to go out. She will wear her own shoes, and point to herself and myself and say change clothes, go kai kai

pixie,
since u seldom with your boy at home only wkends so i think X just want your attention & chu/show pattern liao liao. Kids are likdat...they felt most comfortable with their own parents so they tend to let go everything (including temper tantrums) infront of u, unlike strangers etc. That's just imp
happy.gif

Everytime when Z throw BIG temper tantrums, i always gotta keep chanting "be patient, be patient" & if buay tahan, i will show him the cane just to scare him. Usually he wont test his limit on me (cos i am the fierce one) but with hb, yes he will bully him...always whine & ask my hb to open the fridge to get his yakult etc.
