shannonbaby,
HUGZ! Don't worry, things will get well
Sorry to make you worry. But you have helps, so things would work out well, don't worry too much. For me, I am the only one who put Hao Re to bed everyday from Day1 till now (except the 1 week when I was on business trip), so now still the same. Not that hubby doesn't want to help, but some nights HR already sleeps when he reaches home. Since HR is quite jealous of his little sis, I don't want to break his routine, so I still put him to sleep everyday, the same way, don't want to start any training. I express BM, so my mum or my hubby can bottlefeed my girl when I put HR to bed. During day time, it's perfectly okay, HR is happy as long as someone plays/accompanies him, not neccessary me. Kids are smart. Even without any training, they know how to adjust themselves and know exactly what happen around them. These few days, I can see HR becoming more independant and don't have to pull/hold my ears (his habit) when he tries to fall asleep, he actually turns to the other side and fall asleeps on his own. During the midnight, he is also trying very hard to soothe himself back to sleep (I help him if he can't manage). Let your #1 adjust to the change slowly, don't anticipate she can adjust in a few days. Monitor her closely and see what's fit her best. Respect her feeling. And most importantly, to me at least, always stay positive and relax! It's certainly not easy to handle 2 kids, I just try my best and don't think too much ahead of time, this is my choice to not to engage maid, so I have to work harder and I know I can do it
If you intent to get your hubby involved more and try changing your gal's routine, do it asap so she has plenty of time to adjust.
kitsune,
You like the Gina Ford book? My friend asked me to read when I was pregnant with HR. I don't like her method, or maybe I should say, I don't believe in training young baby, so I only browse through and never practice it. Hope you will find it useful?
