my girl sleeps one nap a day from abt 12+/1 to 2+/3. At night sleep abt 9+ pm wake up 7+ am.
When is time for bed I will turn off all the lights feed her last bottle of milk and let her roll until she fall asleep on her own. Can take between 30mins to 1hr sometimes.

130ml in 3hrs is very good!!! is very good to have excess now cos once u start work u may not be able to pump so often, stress etc then the supply will drop a bit. So now if have excess after u start work will be just nice

I think my girl's sleeping pattern is close to grumpus's girl. My girl will nap once in the day after her lunch (ranging from 12 or 1pm to 3pm). Then at night she will sleep at 9.30pm after her last feed. Normally if she sleeps in yaolan, I will take 30 mins to "yao" her to sleep. If she sleeps on the mattress, I will lie on my bed next to her and let her roll (not to entertain or talk to her in any way). This will take longer like 1 to 1.5hr for her to fall asleep. So mattress is more for Fri or Sat nights.

Hmm..mine also same same with Grumpus and Krystle. Wakeup around 7am, naps around 1pm to 2ish/3pm, then sleeps around 830-9pm. Our bedtime routine starts around 8ish. Warm bath, PJs, story, song but i nurse her to sleep. I used to be all worried that she's over reliant on my breast, but then i can see after i unlatched, she's still awake but turn around and sleep on her own...so i know they WILL eventually zz on their own. Now i really cherish these quiet times with her right before she sleeps.

Congrats. Ur on the right track! Jiayou! Erm...but why ur company only give u 2 mths maternity??? I tot ur on govt job???

Most times Z oso nap once in the day from abt 2+/3pm to 4+/5pm. At night he will sleep at 10+pm after his last feed & wake up 7+/8am. Occasionally, if he nap twice at PIL's place on wkdays from abt 1+pm to 2+pm & 5pm to 6+pm BUT at night will sleep at 11+/12AM! and wake up 8+/9am...abit haywire

Kam is a Malaysian tat's y only 2 mths maternity leave. Only Singaporean is given 4mths.

Or then how about PR ? I think PR is entitled to 4 mths paid maternity leave ya ?

Kam, since your supply is good. As long as you are able to latch your gal before you leave for work eg. 7am, pump during lunch time eg. 12+pm, then rush home to latch or pump just before knocking off eg. 6pm, it should be ok to BF up to 6 months or more. My supply was low so I had to pump every 4 hours ie. twice at work. My latch/pump timings were 7:30am, 11:30am, 3:30pm then 7:30pm and 11pm when I go home.

Luca, haha, his students gave him a plastic toy bear, 2 'bu qiu ren', raspberry tea bags and home made cookies (which I'm happily munching on now ;) ). Not bad lar, considering they are JC students. Last time when I was in JC, already stop celebrating teacher's day. :p

I bought 2 small gifts for my gal's playgroup teachers today.

S'porean PR is not entitled for the 4mth's maternity? Then that is really unfair, given that you only had such short time to bond with your children.

In that case, are Haore and Xiyu considered S'poreans since they are born here?
 
hi mummies, am Singaporean PR but I had 3 months paid maternity last time. ;-)


By the way, my i ask why during pregnancy we can't move house? or renovate house, etc? Any reason? I am not a believer in all this but just curious.

mothers are entitled to 4 months maternity leavee if their child is a singapore citizen. So even if the mother is not singaporean but the child is then she gets 4 months.

the rationale is that the last 2 months of the maternity leave is paid for by the government. and the government is willing to subsidise maternity leave only if the child is singaporean. cos the reason the government is doing all this extended maternity leave is to increase singapore population mah, so they think why should they subsidize if they're non singaporean.

also, children born in singapore are not automatically singaporeans, they have to be registered as a citizen.

if i remember correctly is cos old ppl say all the banging and hacking during renovation will 'hurt' the bb. like bb will be born with defects and stuff...

my girl has a small hole at the top of her ear and my mum always tell me dunno what banging i did during pregnancy...*rolls eyes*
 
grumpus: hehehe. ;-) I dont know how true it is. ;-) I think it coms back to during pregnancy don't carry heavy stuffs coz when you move house, you have to pack things etc. ;-)

For me, this pregnancy, I have been moving stuffs from singapore to OZ. And from here to there in OZ, and now we are going to renovate our place. Hehehe

beside banging & painting & moving stuffs...oso try to avoid using scissors to cut/trim the clothes that you are wearing on your body. If you take off/down your clothes to cut/trim/sew/stitch etc then it's ok but still try to avoid if possible cos i heard pple say later bb got cleft lip/palate.
Anyway me not superstitious abt these "old wives tales" but i do follow (try to avoid if possible) during both my pregnancy.

Both our children are also Singapore PR, that's I am not entitled to 4 months maternity leave :)

BTW, yesterday the 130ml was more than 3 hours interval. Think if it's really 3 hour interval, maybe will get 100ml.

Doesn't matter gov job or not, it's the citizenship that count. What worse is from #3 onwards, there will be 0 day of paid maternity leave for non-Singaporean :-(

Have not been posting / reading the forum for a long time..

Talking about naps, my girl is still taking 2 naps and waking up in the middle of the night.

Think she has been conditioned by her Grandma to wake up to drink already.

Have been telling my mum to let her take a later nap so that she takes just one nap and goes to bed earlier at night, but my mum refuses to. Heh. Sigh.....

The night wakings are terrible too.

It's bad when you let someone else take care of your child.

my mil takes care of my boy, she oso let him take 2 naps when i oredi told her to let him take 1 i/o 2 - easier to fall asleep at night
 
Kam: last time, I also pumped 3 times when i am at work, and rush home after 6pm to latch my girl on. Thanks God that my milk supply was incredible. ;-) I didnt have any issue with milk supply in fact it's over supply. I just pump and latch 3 hours and empty my boobs every time I fed Johanna. ;-) I think you will be the same coz my initial milk supply for 1st few days was alot. My milk came on day 2 after delivery and after I latched my girl, I can still pump out 80ml each side. No wonder she was so chubby when I look at her newborn photos. ;-)
But later few months (i think around 4 months, I had martitis and it was horrible, and I had to have a massage lady with a hot stone to clear it. I also had high fever), but after that it was ok. The reason was that I didnt pump at night when I was back to work so it led to this.
Try to do it as often as possible.
I think you can do it this time. You have been on the right track.

mothers and MILs will tend to STILL let baby naps 2x daily cos it frees up their day more to do stuffs. Last time my mom also kept stuffing Rylee into yaolan. Everytime she cried, she will either asked me to BF or "push" Rylee into yaolan and rock her even though she's not sleepy yet. That's why when my mom went back Sg, i managed to condition Rylee to sleep on the bed. Whew.

read u always argue with ur mom on childcare issues. I know old people very hard to handle sometimes. Me too in a similar situation but sometimes really gotta "swallow everything and keep both eyes shut" in order to avoid confrontation and make things ugly. Keep telling urself she's doing it out of love for u. She cud jolly well said no and u have to send Celeste somewhere else. I hope when u said u going thru shit is merely abt ur conflicts with ur mom...do take care and "kan kai" a bit.

Oh, i didnt know only Sporean got 4mths! So unfair! But then again, this baby scheme is to encourage Sporeans to have more babies lah. But well, they shud extend it to PRs as well.

I can also free up some clothes for your friend but I got no time to sort and pack. When will you be back? Do you think she want bottles as well? I sill have some new and unused ones which were gifts. I don't mind passing it to her since I've no use for them.

Let me ask her...i think she got the old bottles from her #1 which was a princess. my this trip very short only, touching down 24sept (thurs) afternoon, then leaving Sg on 27Sept (Sun) morning. Will find time to collate from u all.

kam, oh ya, i forgot u senior management with own office, can pump as often as u like. Last time, i want to pump must see my boss's mood. If got meeting, engorged also ll cannot go n pump. :p

Pixie, my ex boss also female but she very 'by the book' and kancheong type. Also, her sons are already in university so she is not as sympathetic cos last time their benefits are even worse, no 3 or 4 months paid maternity leave, no lactation room etc.

Ur EDD is 1 oct? mine is 19 oct am also starting to count down. Realised this pregnancy is not as easy as the #1. Tum tum more bigger and tires more easily cos need to look after #1!!!
