Aqua, just called NTUC bedok north blk 212 supermarket but she said no offer for Friso 3. She said that was last week's promotion. Was that where you bought from?

they let you buy and keep there one leh until you free to come back take ur purchases. i didnt know ntuc offers that

Pixie, didn't know mah cos the 2 NTUCs near my house both don't have the offer. Steph stays so far in the west so didn't think of getting from there. Only when Aqua said Bedok also has then i thought of cheonging there to buy. :p

enfa increase price coz say 4x more DHA than normal. but with the increased amt of DHA - issit same as compared to other brands or more? i oso dunno. so misleading. its 4x more than its existing leh, not compare to other brands leh!

Hi, mummies.

I have not popped yet lah. You all so fast counting down wherelse I am in a dilemna, don't know want time to go by faster or not. EDD is 27 Sep but very unlikely to wait until then. Coz baby is already engaged and cervix dilated 1cm @ 36 weeks. Some more baby is heavy @ 3.17kg so if wait until 40 weeks sure will become super-heavy baby and sure will need c-sect. I definitely don't want that lah. Prefer natural and this time I will still opt for no epi. Coz gynae sort of hinted that I can take the pain and last delivery was only 3.5 hrs. This time will be faster and also no time for epi so better don't waste money.

Friso 3 promotion no more liao? So sad!!! I did not manage to get coz hubby was busy and could not bring me to NTUC...

I totally hate the new version of Friso 3. I think the tin design sucked big time! It is like not secured and I am so worried about the milk powder getting contaminated....
 
Krystle, yeah jiayou , natural with no epi!! You can do it!! i tink if bb is big can go for natural also, since already #2 bb

When can we give our toddler the "normal / adult" yogurt? I am still giving the Yoplait Petit Maim, but always sold out at the NTUC I frequent. Can give him the normal full fat type or not?

Today 1st day at home with Hao Re and Xi Yu. Of course with my mum's help. The day went pass very well though. Basically it's easy to cope, except for a few moments when both of them need my attention. And Hao Re still gets jealous when I breastfeed my baby, cos that takes up too much my time, to him.

My hubby said he rather opts for supplement (formula), than having me woken up in the middle of the night to pump. We really take it very easy, if have, give, supply drop, switch to formula, just see how is my body coping. I still don't do extra pumping now. It's still 3 hourly(sometimes more), either latch of pump. Unless my breasts feel very full, else, I won't pump after she latches to empty the breast. A bit not right, I know. But I need to save this precious time I have to spend with my boy also. Trying to find a balance.
 
kam, I think can give normal yogurt liao since you are already giving him table food but some brands are very sweet. Best for you to try out first before giving to Haore.

My hubby asked me before if I want to give up BF esp when I had so much problem with mastitis when feeding RaeAnne but I still persevered day by day, month by month until I reached 12.5 months. My moving target was 6 months, 9 months and finally 12 months. Would have continued to BF RaeAnne beyond 12.5 months if not that my menses never came back and I can't try for no. 2 and age is catching up.

At the end of the day, my hubby is not the one waking up, sterilising and pumping away. He is always sound asleep when I need to wake up and pump at night. Many times, after an episode of mastitis/blocked ducts, I felt like giving up. I'm not blessed with good supply and slacking by not pumping/latching throughout the night for the first month was a big mistake. The money I spent on seeing LC, BF supplements was definitely more than enough to feed RaeAnne with FM for 12.5 months. But I persevered because I didn't want to have any regrets cos I want to at least fulfil the 6 months of TBF recommended by WHO. Anything beyond that to me was bonus.

But ultimately, the decision is yours. Since you did not manage to BF Haore for long, will you have any regrets if the same happens for Xiyu?

i asked my mum to buy from Teban NTUC (JP NTUC don't have promo) for 2 packs (4x900g) during offer cos too heavy difficult for her to carry home oso. Then wanna stock up more today but my mum said offer ended

Steph, sigh, I give up liao. Think my reserve stocks can last for another 2 months. Hopefully during this time, got better offers for the old stock. If not, bo bian got to spend more $ on FM lor. :p

Can I ask what is the correct way to warm up BM which I kept in normal fridge or freezer?

Coz one of my failures for my BF last time is that I only took out my BM to warm up only like 15 mins before 3hr's interval (I stored in glass bottle so warmed it up by just putting the whole bottle containing the BM in hot water to heat up). But always ended up timing was not right and my girl was then crying the hse down with her hunger and I just have to hurrily gave her FM instead....
 
krystle, if your EBM was put in the chiller then it's the correct way ie. heat up the bottle in a cup of hot water. But if freezer then cannot, you got to bring down at least 1 or 2 bottles of frozen EBM to the chiller 24 hours before or try and take the bottle out of the freezer 2-3 hours before to melt first. When baby cry then heat up in a cup of hot water.

But my gal is a screamer too so I know what you mean. I was woken up many times from my sleep when my CL was frantically trying to heat the chilled EBM in the kitchen while my gal screamed the house down. Bo bian lor, let her scream lor but usually either me or hubby will try to calm her down by carrying her. Anyway after CL left, I started to latch on at night instead so it was better. Instant supply and always at the right temperature.

Try to warm it up in a Thermo flash, it will heat up the milk faster, also change the water after 5 mins or so. My boy used to fuss a bit, no choice.. just have to let him wait, anyway I used pacifier so perhaps easier to make him wait.

in the beginning when my girl's timing not very consistent, i warm up with hot water in a cup. change to fresh hot water after a few mins to speed up the warming like wat icy said. usually i will carry my girl with one hand while doing this with the other hand so she's pacified at least for a while.
also i prepare her feeds before hand and leave in the fridge so when she cries all i need to do is take out and pop into the hot water, when warm just open the cap and feed. no need to unscrew, pour, screw etc...
 
Kam: my hubby is opposite. ;-) I was thinking of BF for 1 year, but he was the one who is telling me that he can see the bonding between me and my girl and actually he enjoys seeing my girl' reaction over my boobs when it comes to milky time. ;-)
I actually still BF my girl 1 time per day if we are at home now (go outside then no choice). Praise the Lord that I have no prob with my new bb in my tummy, just that my breasts are more sensitive and really painful each time I breastfeed her, thats all.
I am pretty sure that I can wean my girl off any time now coz she has no problem at all, but I really miss her on my breasts. ;-)) LOL.

tat's good! mine rejected my breast once i preg. hb say the milk taste changed. anyway, good oso cos when #2 pek chek he will tend to bite whatever he can find. haha

blessedbaby, yea i just wonder how the milk will change after your #2 is born? cuz milk will change according to bbs age right? so its ok to bf while preggie?
and what if both babies are fighting over your breast at the same time..
 
steph, krystle n kitsune: the new friso 3 is packed in msia, imagine it is muc more costly yet packed in msia??? i also worried abt the 'hygiene', mebe will change brand whe my girl finish my old stocks.

last yr, i tink mamil gold also hav some problem with their paper packaging milk which is packed in msia.so realli doubt their standards nw
 
tongtong: I read from a website, it's ok to breastfeed your toddler as long as you dont feel any pain or experience bleeding. They said our milk will change saltier at about 5 months of pregnancy. But so far, my girl didn't show me anything. ;-)
If you still bf toddler after bb is born, then you will bf your bb first then whatever left over, you will nurse your toddler.
I don't choose to nurse 2 kids at the time so I will definitely wean my girl off completely by Oct. ;-) and some more, I also hope to BF my #2 as long as my #1 so better to reserve some colostrum for her/him to build up his/her immune system.
But i think my boobs size are so much smaller (hahahha) so I better prepare some back up to prepare myself for another BF journey (supplement to boost my milk supply, just in case not enough for my #2). ;-)
 
pixie, me also hav more problems with my hubby after my girl. i tink mainly due to differences in the way my inlaws brought up my girl...

Coz my boobs was full of milk when I gave birth to #1. Now #2 coming to 20 weeks, I see my boobs are very small. ;-)
Last time, I can't take any papaya soup coz my milk was overflow, this time I also have to get all these recipe to prepare myself in all circumstance. ;-)))

Steph, aqua, good news for me. The bedok NTUC called me this morning and said they gave me wrong info. They do have the Friso 3 promotion but it ends today and not much stock left so I asked her to keep everything for me. Will get hubby to collect in the evening when he knock off.

blessedbaby, I checked the price before but with my preggie memory, I forgot liao. I remember the 60 capsule bottle is already $40+ or $50+. :p Maybe someone else will rememeber better. If not, wait until next month's gynae visit, I can go TMC and check out again. ;P

Tongtong, want to ask you, does your papaya soup taste bitter? Cos the soup that my CL makes tastes very bitter but I found out that the one that TMC serves is not bitter at all. Wonder if the non bitter one works as well cos bitter soup not nice to drink mah... Hee.
 


aqua, yup my girl still at young talents. she is still the youngest over there..hehe..but will be withdrawing her end of dec as we are shifting to stay with my PIL in bedok area. Too far for me. Nw looking for another sch for her. Found one, but havent enrol her yet.

kitsune, can ask yr CL to put some red dates in the soup? cos i remember the one my MIL make is not bitter. esp since she knows i dont like bitter things.hehe
