missylan, most of the confinement recipe books that I got says dried octopus is ok. Prob its fresh seafood thatz toxic.
deerdeer, or alternatively u may want to try this other soup: chicken feet soup with lily and papaya
Ingredients:
300g chicken feet
300g pig's tail bones
1 half ripe papaya
3hg dried lilies
3hg peanuts
3 slices of old ginger
Method:
1. Wash up all the ingredients, soak the dried lilies until they get soft.
2. Prepare pot of boiling water, scald the chicken feet and pig's tail bones to get rid of blood and the fishy taste.
3. Peel the half ripe papaya, cut into chunks.
4. Fill up 4/5 of a pot with water, add in all ingredients after the water gets boiling, cook them with high heat for about 20mins, then stew them with low heat for abt 3hrs.
Linda, we got name for our baby girl liao, her name is Kaylen. Thanks for updating for us.
CSI_Fan, yeah, confinement is boring. Anyway, yesterday sneaked out to Taka for 2hrs to shop. Only managed to buy toys for my elder daughter. Didn't dare to stay out too long, scared the little one can't take the aircon in shopping centre.
Am feeling very tired, this confinement like super busy & tiring. Not enough time to rest. BB is waking up every hr, dunno what she wants other than feeding her every 2hrs. Now thinking if we shd introduce the "yao lan" so that she can sleep more soundly rather than we carry her every time she cries. My hb looks like he's going break down soon. And I'm getting slack in pumping out milk. *sob* *sob*
