(2007/11) November MTBs

Mum just called me and asked me the medication to administer to Claire coz i got her to bring some over from Sg.

Seems like Claire is missing her parents now... and wants me especially she s SICK. Now, whenever my Mum picked up the phone to call, she will auto say, "Mummy."

Cindy: Haha Matt too. When we say let's brush teeth. he will run to the place where we keep the finger tooth brush and toothpaste and do the brushing teeth action. And he gets really amused when he says us brushing our teeth too. But he bites our finger, when we brush his teeth. Naughty boy...

Dreamer, no worries.. I was at the dentist office last Sat and saw this poster that, by 3yrs old.. then the milk teeth all in!
happy.gif

Its normal to have gaps coz the gaps allow for the adult teeth to sprout.

thank u piggypiggy, will keep the advice in mind.

Catherine, thank u! Haha. Happy for u that jovan is trained now. Hope he is waking up less often,

Kitt, Haha, travis was on enfa, so I intend to use this for his sis too, but Fm is a trial and error. Haha, travis is ok on enfa. Poo okay. U not gg tbf in hosp?

thanks k@ye for the info.

her teeth really taking a looooong time to come out! :p

cindy -- hope travis recovers soon!

pig -- wow, time flies, kicia already 3 months liao! seems like u "juz" gave birth only... ;p kaira also holding her own bottle since 8+, 9 month-old.

cat -- glad that jovan is getting better with his sleep. so in the end did u seek "professional" help?

Pig07,
hahaha i m in the exact situation as u! Favian was a easy baby- seldom cry or fuss. But my Mischa is a supe cranky n 'notty' baby.....dun ask me why but i think its got to do with hving an elder sibling at hm? Cos i was a 'notty' baby too (hv an elder bro ) hahahaa

RE: brushing teeth
Cindy, maybe u should help T in brushing cos at his age, he may nt be able to really brush properly. just my opinion

ASHM,i started using the soft bristle brush for Mischa already. she is quite keen in brushing her teeth cos her bro also does that every morning n night. But I skip the morning brushing for her cos usually will be rushing out to send my son to school. But night brushing i find is primary impt cos its the accumulated day's food/milk etc. Even if kiddos still take milk aft brushing teeth n before he/she sleeps, at least they hv cleaned away the day's 'food remnants' in the teeth
happy.gif

k@ye: i'm sure claire misses u.

Catherine, so glad to hear about Jovan's progress. I am still waking up especially since he's teething now. I think he's gonna get the entire set of teeth (about 6-7 on top and 6 - 7 below) quite soon... sigh.. But the sleep wise, I think i also progress that teeny bit. I also used to rock him to sleep. now, i massage him to sleep hahaha... it's better for e too cos he's close to 12kg and i think should be slightly more than 80 cm (measure tmr)..

Brush teeth: J's using the toothbrush now (kiddos type). He likes it, so we do it day and night. And he also knows the aaction and place, similar to other babies..

NAN" J's been on NAN since birth and he's never had problems with poo. He's prone to stomach flu tho, but think he takes after me. hahaah..
He changed to similac once but constipated after 3rd day and rejected the milk.. so i switched him back and things went back to normal..

Bathing in CC: yes, its normal for local cc to line the children up. To teachers, they are giving chn the time to learn to get ready, take their own clothes, towel and stuff, remove their own clothes and put in bag. But this lining up showering should be limited to maybe 4 - 6 'naked' chn at one time. and 1 child bathing. However, please note that this does not apply to young tots or N1s. Unless the N1s are very advanced.

oh n i read somewhere that we shouldnt use fluoride toothpaste for young children 0-3yrs old.
so far i can only find First Teeth WITHOUT floride (using milk enzymes) -Babies exposed to fluoride are at high risk of developing dental fluorosis - a permanent tooth defect caused by fluoride damaging the cells which form the teeth.

read this:
http://www.fluoridealert.org/fluoride-facts.htm

michviv, hope i got the facts right
happy.gif

Smile, how old is the N1 class har? I also super blur with the age one...

Just got a bad news, my hubby told me that he might hv to take a pay cut of 20-25% but the heng thing is, work 4 days week lor...

cindy,
will try to bf #2 but if things dont go well, hv to give FM so nid to be prepared.
seems like similac is heaty ah... cause constipation?!

ASHM,
ok, think i'll give extra thots to NAN
happy.gif
most impt is for the baby to have regular bowel movement!! :D

re: teeth brushing
i dun put any toothpaste for C, just brush n rinse with a wet towel. same reason as stated by MM lor... floride is not good for their tiny teeth!

kaye,
sorry to hear abt ur hb's 'potential' bad news (cross fingers wun cut so much lah...) but at least is NPL lor. my co just cut pay across the board but still require you to come to work! sheeezzzz.........

re: brushing teeth
my gal loves to brush teeth, but by HERSELF! When i try to take over the toothbrush from her, she will cry and refuses to open her mouth!
haiz, dunno how to wash it properly for her leh... mummies, any kiddos like tat?

mm, travis is like plims girl, wanna hold himself, I can only brush his tongue for him. Are u all using children toothbrush now? Travis is still using the pigeon one. Haha.

Dreamer, I also hope he get well soon. He just Vomitted again, just now before zzz... All the pedialyte he took came out. Poor boy.

Kitty, nothing will happen la and u will have enough milk. Haha. Second round milk truly came in faster, 3rd day Compared to 5th for travis. So bring breastpads and nursing bra hor.

morning ladies :hayley's milk ran out and of cos cant buy in sin la :p...already brought the biggest tin.......any brands to recommend?NAN should be oki right?

Weishy, what brand of Hayley's milk she is drinking? U can buy Wakado in the Jap supermarket here like Isetan or Mediya or the Cold Storage in Taka.

Claire drinking the Mornigna brand lah... If u need, can sell one can to you when she s back on Sunday. This gal super high maintenance, can only get the FM from HK now. Sigh

NAN for Claire is heaty... Gain IQ not so for Claire.

Weishy: Ethan has been on NAN after my milk supply decreased. No problems with poo at all. Its got probiotics so I think that is one reason for the good response by all the other mummies as well.

MM: Haha...absolutely right! There are more choices in terms of children's toothpaste in the US. After the 1st teeth toothpaste, I bought Ethan a tube of Oragel toothpaste with Thomas the train (tooty-fruity flavour). haha. He likes it! I tried the toothbrush with bristles but he doesn't like it leh, prefers his rubber one. Will try to transition him slowly. =)

k@ye: Sorry to hear your news. Hopefully, they can consider reinstating the pay once the economy improves.

Cindy: Oh dear. Is Travis sick? Keep him away from Trishelle ok? Gastric virus is very contagious!

poissons:

U r so funny!! Rape hub.
happy.gif

MissA:
Seduce hub. Poke holes in the condom.
happy.gif

Guess it takes 2 hands to clap, if one party is not willing and when bb is out, u will be the one only take care of no.2 will be quite tiring for him. Maybe can bring up the topic again when your girl is older?

Michviv, my hubby says not confirmed yet but most likely to be announced after their interim results to the shareholders lor... Pretty surprised that govt linked co also kena...

On brushing, Claire will imitate us when she sees us brushing our teeth but when i attempted to put the toothbrush (the rubber type or the Oral B kids one).. She will protest and run away!!!

Cindy, con Travis to drink water as much as possible.

kittybride:
I let Isaac have Enfa since he was a infant till now. I find that he is ok with Enfa.

ya. Very excited... 6 more weeks to go.
happy.gif
Have not get ready all things e.g. buy confinment stuffs and etc. Still in the midst of washing bb clothings, these days the weather no good.

piggypiggy /Michviv / k@ye
Where is Odyssey and how much is it? Heard that Eton House is $3K per month!!

And Montessori at PSA has to queue for 1 yr!

michviv: Looks attractive but that's really expensive. I would prob not pay more than S$800. Wow, kids' education is getting so expensive.

michviv, all the best to your business startup! I don't know if its a gastric virus or what but sigh, how do they spread? I am tired shuttling between the 2. He cannot even stop aching pedialyte!

Kaye, yes! I will! Have to. Sobs. is c better?

cindy
yeah, hopefully got milk this time round!! :D
you doing great handling both of them leh... how's trishelle's milk intake and adapting to our time zone? better?
u gotta have plenty of rest too ya, dun keep sitting in front of the pc/notebook hor... eyes have to rest too! ekekkekekeeee....

aiyoh, poor travis... *hugs* to him!
he drinks from straw already? maybe use spoon to feed water? my gal loves to drink soup using spoon so sometimes i con her to drink water using spoon too! :D

michviv,
gd luck in your biz start up!!
just chk out odyssey... wah piang v expensive leh... but environment looked pretty good for the one at wilkinson - more open space for them to run around n njoy.
happy.gif

Cindy, give him salt water lah if he pukes out the pedialyte..

Yup, Claire is better but still phlegmy.. She is super bz lor... coz my relatives from Msia also went to my HK aunt's pl... She got more elders to spoil her now!

Michviv, the price is like paying for infant care!! And with $300 subsidy, still very expensive!

tinkabel, Cindy, Kitty, K@ye: I know!!! Very EX right? haha. At first, I was like - no way, its super ex! But now, I'm thinking if its worth the money to pay for the extra attention Ethan can get from teachers cos he learns very fast. My hubby and I are running out of things to teach him already. That said, LSH will still be our 1st choice. My hubby just curious about Odyssey cos its new and near our house. I told him, if you want, then you pay! haha. He said he will think about it. =P

Oh, and thanks for the well wishes! I'll be setting up an online business selling cosmetics (specifically mineral make-up). If any of you are interested, just let me know, will definitely offer Nov Mummies a discount! =) I'm planning to launch by June. *keeps fingers crossed*

Cindy: I think someone should bring travis to the PD. There is some anti-vomitting medication that may be useful. Poor thing. Hope he gets well soon.

michviv - I have a girlfriend also bring in the mineral make up from the States and she approach all the beauy salons, dermatogists. I use it for awhile and I find its good and lightweight! Now that I am pregnant, I am considering to switch back to mineral make up....
happy.gif

Does government subsidise for Odyssey? If yes can consider because St James is about $900 for one term i think..... I am keen on the half day for Ash....

Cindy - Is Travis having stomach flu? Bring him to his PD already? Ash also kena on Mon but now totally recover liao... his PD gave him this anti-vomit medicine too..... it really helps!

K@ye - Sorry to hear about hb's paycut... this is just temporary, things shoud be improving at the end of this year. Are you affected too?

Playdate with Ashlyn tomorrow - Mummies, pls bring your todd's bowl and spoon for tomorrow's lunch ah.. It's going to be macaroni with soup...
happy.gif

Rachel / Kittybride - Are you using confinement lady to help you out in the first month? Anyone to recommend? Looks like there are quite alot of year end moo moos....
happy.gif

ASHM: What brand does your gf bring in? Glad to hear your good feedback. Its getting more popular now and personally, I'm a convert cos my skin has improved so much and I've stopped getting break outs. I'm also bringing in from the States but I'm working with a manufacturer so that I have control over the ingredients I want added. =)

Michviv - I think its NEU...got to go home and check.... Oh it is even better that you work with a manufacturer - is a good business to venture in
happy.gif

Wow... Michviv, then u must bring in mineral skin care... U all seen me lah, me never use make up... Haha, i dun even wear lipstick to work!

ASHM, i m not affected in terms of paycut but alot work is piled on than before!

K@ye:well got pay cut better than no job le....tahan abit looooo
HArrrrr NAN heaty ar.......oki i buy small small tin for these 3 days only :p

MIchviv:me also use mineral make up.....the original one in states
happy.gif
....pricign is good but alot of comapnies like loreal etc also hv liao le......

ASHM; oki oki will bring

Michviv, yalor.. Must also bring in skincare for vain ppl like me! Haha

Weishy, coz Claire's body heaty & sensitive by nature... So, anything heaty, she reacts very fast!! Hehe....

Well, hubby's pay cut is like shortened working week.. So still not so bad.. i can't imagine pay cut + longer working hours!

I guess everyone is enduring lah... Think the economy will recover fast coz alot of govt pumping $$ into recovering the economy...

Psst for those who re into investments hor, my hubby's fren (oil trader) told us that if got spare cash can invest in oil but must be selective hor.. He said, dun buy SPC shares..
happy.gif

kittybride,
aiyor too bad u cant join us for the feast this sat

ASHM,
i dunno wat to bring & how much to bring this sat. fruits (stawberry & kiwi) for 20pax?

Cindy/dreamer,
J is still waking up at least 2x every nite. i haven seek professional help yet. J is not well these days. been coughing so not a good time to sleep-train him. his PD did suggest to let him cry it out when he wakes up for milk but i cannot bear it lor...

smilemum,
J is close to 12kg ah? wow big boy...

k@ye,
buy oil now meh? oil price is so low liao leh.
how come dun buy SPC? no hope of revival ah?

your hb paycut=no pay leave; at least still ok lor. ours is paycut + longer working hours (dread!) + job enlargement (take over duties of those who resigned cos co freeze hire at the same time leh)

anyway, i just wana 'tong' for this mth and early nxt coz after that, i'll just hv to endure paycut only... let other pple take my share of the 'job enlargement'... muahahahaa...

lucky going maternity... otherwise moral sure super low!!! grrr...

catherine,
yup, u ladies/hubbies/toddlers enjoy ya.
dun worry abt J's sleeping pattern, sooner or later will be better.
last nite chloe slept from 10pm till this mrng 7am w/out waking up for milk!!! i guess coz she slept late and was very energetic earlier on (was at my IL's place and they kept playing with her, make her 'talk', walk and dance!!)

me n hb had such a wonderful and peaceful rest last nite!!! i wish this will continue... before i POP then the sleepless nites cycle will start w bb#2... argh...DREAD!!

Smilemum,
cereal is convenient to bring too, but HK shld be convenient to buy the stuffs u need, else too many things to lug. I will bring her fav toy to cuddle to sleep tho she will prob prefer to sleep with us.

Tinkabel,
ZY is exactly like Matt, now every nite we r anticipating when she will "cry out" to invade onto our bed.. some nites, she even refuse daddy to carry her, these todds!

Pig,
its actually harder when they r older to train them to hold their own bottles but better late than never. Luckily, mine loves her milk, so will guai guai get into her position (sofa) and holds her own bottle right up to the last drop. I have told her to hand me the bottle, or call out for me when she is done, cos previously she just throw the bottle (<1 yr).

Weishy,
if u taking Nan Pro 3, only 1 size, ie the 900g tin one.

ASHM,
i was thinking of getting small bowl fr the lunch place @ Jones.. so i will juz bring along her fork n spoon.. in fact 2 spoons in case she fights with me for the spoon to self feed.

Michviv,
salute u.. muz show us the link when yr biz start hor.

Kittybride,
i realise ZY is more interested in "gam-ing" her toothbrush, cos we applied some first tooth toothpaste (w/o fluoride).. guess she likes the apple/banana flavour more.. hee. But i will insist her to brush 2 times a day, after her b/f (during her bath) and before sleep (after last milk feed). She also prefers to brush herself, but i will take over fr her and attempt to reach the places. Yesterday nite, after brushing in front of everyone (todds love praises!) she claims, "no more" - cos the toothpaste prob all "eaten" by her!

K@ye,
after working so hard so long, may not be a bad thing to slow down n work lesser. Think positive!

Brushing Teeth:
J is using First Teeth toothpaste & the finger toothbrush. i haven make it a habit for him to brush teeth on a regular basis. morning is always a rush for him to go school. nite time he takes bedtime milk. maybe like wat MM says, should still make him brush his teeth b4 bed so tat all the daytime milk/food residue will be removed.

Self-feeding with Spoon/Fork:
J is showing signs of wanting to do so. he grabs the spoon while we r feeding him & tries to feed himself. now every meal, we must prepare 2 spoons. 1 for him to "play" & 1 for us to feed him. any mummies have successfully trained ur kid to self-feed? wat food are good starters?
http://www.babycenter.com.sg/toddler/nutrition/selffeedingexpert/

MM, you've got mail.

piggy, my fren daughter at seedling, sick very often. I might go for Milk & Honey, have review it's good despite the run down look.

cidy, hugs to Travis.

Dreamer, A only 4 teeth now. This morn I saw potential 2 coming out.

smilemum, saw u order the animal cookies too. fyi, I saw at the forum organic shop selling at $1.90 only.

Catherine,
do u mean self feed with spoon and fork? I just let her self feed using the food we cook, tho messy! Cannot be watery porridge cos slips everywhere.. so i cook it more rice-type. She will feed herself, tho i will alternate with her. Usually i try to feed her halfway so she is a bit full, then give her another spoon to guide her.

If u use fork, then i will cook vege like broccoli until soft but not that soft that can still be picked up easily by fork. That way, she also contented.

A prefers the first teeth toothpaste more! Like plim's she wan to do it on her own and stick her tongue out more than really brushing the teeth.

Mummies, you might wan to stock up on first teeth cos one spree organiser inform that it's no longer in production.

Poochi,
saw Hazel's cute HK spade and pail.. i was searching high n low for 1 and end up buy those cheapo ones fr HDB estate. Hvnt got a chance to use tho..

And i wanna try out yr baked omelette recipe soon.. looks so yummy!

Thanks, MissA!
