(2007/11) November MTBs

Tinkabel:: yes last time 18kg, now 15 but i still have 1 more wk!! grrr.. I really hope i can bf too. My initial wt gain was slow too. Even lost 3 kg in the beginning cause no appetite to eat. I thought i could make it to less than 10kg.. but haha FAT HOPE! All the best babe!!

cactus:: don't waste money lah ahha positive means positive le. Wait till a little later to see doc so can detect heartbeat at once haha!!

Rachel:: how's your preg coming along? How do u know it's an allergy? Hmmm. I fed T egg for breakfast, and he is okay le.

Cindy: Haha thanks for the best wishes. Really need it... It was 12kg for me last round. Hope I can make it 10kg this time. Haha...

Re: Egg & MMR
I think those with egg allergy might break out in rashes. Or at least that is what happen to my niece. But for those bb already fed with egg (both yolk or white), and no issue, I think shd be ok la. Maybe Michviv can shed more light haha...

On egg allergy, if i feed it directly into her mouth and no contact with her skin. Claire is fine but if i let her self feed... and her skin in contact with egg... confirmed rashes big time!

Poochi,
nt the Kitty one..more of how to put other blog templates to it...i kinda sick of the tem0plates in blogger.

k@ye,
i didnt get ur email..can u send to:
[email protected]
thanks ya

cactus! wohooho!!! Congrats!! u were nvr fat la for goodness sake! So jealous!
ya its true..aft 2nd one so hard to shed off although i went below my pre preg weight during the 4-5mths of BF...now the milk demand dropped, my weight ballooned plus the festive season's goodies didnt help! i havent baked for a long time due to my weight gain too..sob sob..

congrats cactus!!!

cactus,
congrats!!! *baby girl dust* for you ya! yeah... so happy there's so many moo moos for our little piggies this year!
happy.gif

re: wt gain
i also intend to have a good confinement this time round - will LISTEN to the CL to EAT and REST coz last time, i bo chap and was sitting up surfing net & watching tv so much end up got backache, tao hong, fingers numb for months and bloated all the time!

but this time will get massage lady to purge out all the wind/water retention for me - hopefully this will help to lose some wt! and BF... yeah, just pray hard this time round got MILK! ahahaa...

poissons,
wat did your PD say about G's walking position?
dun worry, m sure is just a phase he will out grow soon.

re: PDS
we're pulling out too but was glad we joined coz it helped C open up so much! but still need her to participate a bit more on the arts & crafts instead of just clinging to daddy like a koala bear & crying every time!!!

dreamer,
good that K likes to eat more coz her milk intake is just as little as C's. and C is also going 'mum mum mumm' each time she sees us eating even after we've fed her. and even bring the cookie bottles asking us to open and feed her! very tam jiak but hor, still very petite in size!!

dreamer:: it's a good thing for K!
happy.gif
hehe need to eat more to beat the cold! is it still cold?
happy.gif
she needs more energy now that she's more active ma hehe.

Dreamer, Claire in HK with my Mum. The weather is cooler in SG. My Mum told me that Claire ate more!

Anyway, according to my PD, at this age, they should be taking ard 500ml of milk everyday.

MM, just email you.

tinkabel: How did you know I have something to say about eggs and MMR. haha. =) Ok, here goes. For egg allergy, babies/toddlers are usually allergic to the white of the egg and not the yolk. (that's why when introducing egg in their solid food, we start with the yolk first, then the white later).

How it usually presents is in the form of a itchy rash and sometimes, tummy upset & vomiting. How we diagnose an allergy is by a skin prick test. This is when an area of skin is exposed to the egg protein and observed for a reaction. Its possible like in Claire's case to have an allergic reaction when the skin comes into contact but nothing happens when she eats it.

As for MMR, though eggs are used in its manufacture, its usually the embryo that is used (the yolk) and not the white though we can expect that some egg white may get in. Nevertheless, the benefits usually outweigh the risks when the baby is older than 12 months. But in any case, do consult your doctor on this.

morming mummies.

weight gain:
me oso worried, when i was having A, pple only realise i was preg when i inform them during 5+ mths..now at only abt 3mths, my tummy oledi showing, so sad
sad.gif

cactus:
regarding crocs, A oso had the same problem last time but i realised that was cos the inside of the shoe is dirty...the part where he steps on, the dirt is trapped between the lines...so i just use a toothbrush to wash it, u can check if it's the same prob...

Kitty and mummies,
The PD checked G's legs, bones, feet and said there're nothing wrong..no swelling, no nothing, he's legs are fine. Made him walk to and fro, she said it could be him trying to balance, so it's normal. Also mentioned that now their feet muscles are very soft and flexi, so they tend to turn in or out while walking, once firm, he will be able to walk properly. Gotta observe him for a month, if he suddenly develop swells in the joints, high fever, or his walking position still doesn't improve, go back to her quickly. today I made him wear the addidas shoes (fitter and with cushion sole), he seems to walk better..think this wkend want to get him a pair of clarks, I heard there's an outlet in Suntec, any idea where exactly it is?

Cactus,
I msg you yday, did you receive? not sure if I've got your number right..maybe you drop me a sms bah..

Poissons, tell u hor.. Outlet or no outlet, the Clarks shoes for kids are still as expensive one. I checked that before one.

Btw, Clarks shoes for kids usually ard $60.
happy.gif
I dunno whether Robinsons Centrepoint still got this sale or not... Coz i remember there is one corner where they sell those limited sizes & design of Clarks shoes at least 30% - 50% cheaper. U can try ur luck if u re there.

Must admit Clark shoes are good for kids!
happy.gif

Poissons: Glad to hear that G is ok. Yes, go for those shoes with good support and tighter fit. Nike also ok. Don't know about Clarks though...=)

cactus / Cindy:

The nanny fed Isaac oat with whole egg, he was fine the 1st time but last time she gave the same thing and it flare up in the red dots and brought him to the GP and she was saying that it's allergy as he didn't have fever and the red dots do bother him.

Once the red dots are gone, we will have to continue to give him egg until his allergy is gone then can have MMR injection. If not, he will have the MMR injection but need to do it in hospital in order to monitor him.

Cindy:
So far I have put on 5 kgs and guess by end of pregnancy, in another 10 weeks will put on 2 or 3kgs. Gynae was saying that bb is a little small, so asked me to lie and sit on my side more...

How are u? getting more tired easily? I try to work 4 days week, as want to clear my ECC before I go on maternity leave.

cactus:
I experienced the same thing. Initally faint line, then I test again, I don't see anything. Then I went to buy those digital test kit that says pregnant or not pregnant. As sometimes those non digital ones, kind of difficult to read, esp for initial pregnancy. Try it.
happy.gif

Rachel/cactus:no le my line super visible...;.appears instanty.test from doc or hospital is better le.or u can even take blood test.

K@ye:issit:aiya yesterday i for got to bring wallet out of office to CLK so......owe u 1st har.AS well as my friend's not supposed to collect $ which he heard wrongly.........like me to arraneg him to send aunty to airport for departure??????FOC this time! :p

happy.gif

kaye,
ops..i dun mean factory outlet (Clarks), i meant Clark shop in suntec. i dun mind the investment, as long as it provides good support will do
happy.gif

Sigh, it's really not easy being a mummy, so much worries, my white hairs are getting more and more...unlike the daddy.

Weishy, hahaha... My Mum gave him HKD$200! Its okie lah, I think u can give me ur fren no.. Mabbe next time, we asked him to send us directly to my Auntie's pl in Kowloon from the airport, no need to brave the Airport Express or bus.

But ur fren's car can seat how many ppl? I let u know if my Mum wants ur fren's services when she is going back to SG.

poissons,
glad to hear G's walking is fine.
give him time to learn to balance himself; dun worry too much ya.
my gal still needs to raise both arms to balance herself when walking; sometimes she lazy then will walk like a chimpanzee with both hands down... hahahaha...

rachel C,
wah, u lagi tok kong, only put on 5kg so far ah.
me 6kg, we can FIGHT to see how many more we put on for the last leg of the pregnancy! :D
my gynae say my bb is of avg growth though i kept telling him i feel bb is too small. anyway, nxt week check up hopefully will have some more wt gain for BB; not Mommy! :p

re: egg white
i seldom feed C egg white direct (either hardboiled or otherwise), usually just hard-boiled egg yolk mixed into her porridge.
but truth be told, i let her eat egg-prata.... ahahaa... and she loves it; so far no sign of allegy so i guess is ok lor.

cham hor; this mommy anyhow give her food nowadays... coz she is perpetually going 'mum mum mumm...' whenever she sees us eat! :p

re: milk intake
k@ye, no chance of my C ever hitting 500ml/day leh... dats y her size is still petite as ever!

ASHM
hv u tried giving A the 'bee kor' porridge water?

Kitty, Claire also a glutton... Everytime, she will climb up to the dining chair to see what's to eat on the dining table & self service herself! Not to mention, will come and manja u if she sees anyone with food!

Poissons, I very lucky. My uncle bought me Clarks shoes to wear... And its actually very good coz good support & got room for the feet to grow & breath.

milk intake:
aiyo..last night G constantly woke up for milk until i pengsan. 9.30pm he had 250ml, then 11pm he had 200ml, 5am he took another 250ml...gosh! dun give him he screams and tears the whole house down.

poissons,
another growth spurs?
if C has HALF of G's appetite for milk, both me & hb will jump for joy and compete to make milk for her liao!!

poissons,
Clarks is at level2 suntec, there is another one at United sq too. Leroy is wearing clarks now, i think its good too.

poissons: wow that's quite a lot. Matt drinks 3 X 180ML a day now. But for morning and night feed, I add cereal in as I figured that he will be hungry more easily given it's cold here in Shanghai.

tinkabel/kitty,
i think cos' he has just recovered bah, so appetite is exceptionally good...usually he is not like that.

Btw Tinkabel, I saw the pics of your blog that you have kept a tail for Matt..haha..so cute. G has a tiny one like his daddy, they said boys got tail very naughty one :p

Hello Mummies, Haven't been here for a while.

Congrats Cactusnah! One more mummies joining the MooMoo Club. :)

Re: Milk intake
My son still take about 5 or 6 times of 170ml milk a day and at least one soild food (Porridge) a day. Sounds like mine is really big eater!

Just asking, anyone heard of Learning Vision? Is it good?

Poissons, i tot the tail means a glutton? Claire also has one, very glutton!!!

Ya, when Claire just recovered from her illness, she will demand for food!

Mummies,

In case some of u are still having my old no.(ex-co's), pls update to this one instead: 9793 0803:)

Poissons: Glad to hear wat the PD said abt G's walking. Maybe u overly worried and concerned. And his drinking more means he has fully recovered and trying to "bu" bk for the last few weeks. Quickly pump him bk to the little sumo G! Btw, i always describe G to my HB as the "little sumo" leh. Then he'll go "Orrr..." Heee.....

Tinkabel - Ash's PD just called me this afternoon to talk about MMR.

He said it is complusory in Singapore to have the measles jab. Yes there are separate vaccine for measles and rubella but they may not be as effective if given separately. He suggests to wait till 2 years old to give the MMR jab. We would know by then if they have any autism signs or not..... So its safe to go ahead with the jab after we determine that the todds are ok.

michviv - the pd did mentioned that their weigh will remain the same for a while...so its ok for E. I think 11.5kg is good? Heeheehee....anyway E is a strong boy! Remember he took the whole pumpkin from Chel on Sat
happy.gif

ASHM:: thank you for the MMR jab info!! i also will wait till he's close to 2yr old then take the Jab. just to be safe than sorry haha!! Woo Ash sleeps late but gets up early! I just noticed!

On Colostrum powder & cod liver oil, one of my fren who is super into organic food, TCM & supplements told me this.

Colostrum powder is very nutritious (heaty) so best to take only once a week.

For Cod liver oil, she was mentioning that its in oil form. It will form a layer of fats under the skin and prevent absorption of Vit D & A. So, best to let our little ones take it for 4 weeks, stop for 2 weeks and continue the cycle for 4 weeks.

Mambobb, for our gal's constipation... To drink salt water (just a pinch of salt) in the morning for at least 1-2 weeks to help regulate the system. So far, it does help in Claire's poo.

ASHM, good for our toddlers to sleep! Sleep will grow "meat" and be healthy!

Kittybride: Can't join the MooMoo Club...haha cos no one is free to look after my 2nd one if I have now.

Mambobb: I am keen for the trial for GUG. At least at Suntec and more centralized for me too. :)

Re: Cod Liver Oil
Those mummies who bought...how you get them to take the cod liver oil??

Re: colostrum powder
So far, I let him take once a week and I mix in his milk. But I didn't know its heaty.

Thanks K@ye for the info. :)

Colostrum powder:
I have been giving C daily leh.. just small amt mixing in her milk. Maybe tt is y she sometimes poo gorli
sad.gif

Cod Liver Oil:
me only mixed inside her cereal over the weekend. Once per day.. so it is 2 times a week.. is that ok?

HAHAH ASHM:: sleep more is grow more. and can be more alert and learn more. hehe
happy.gif

kaye:: hows your little C in HK doing?

k@ye - thanks for the info on cod liver oil. Ash is eating the white (original) one everyday. So i will stop after he finish the bottle for 2 weeks and start him on it again.
happy.gif

Gelyn - I give Ash the cod liver oil every morning after his breakfast, straight from the bottle
