wow...seem like some of you are ordering from ecreative too.

For Cake, I will order from them. But my catering, I am going to order from Neo Garden. Mummies, do you know that you are entitled to 15% off if you are doing 1st Birthday celebration with Neo Garden? I call them and they said yes but have to faxed over our BB's birth cert for verification.

But I had to agree that the delivery charges is more ex compare to ecreative.

Now abit tempted to change my mind. hahaha
 


nov1mum: sorry to know about your bad incident with them. I actually want to order my cake there but I saw some mummies feedback about their service and so on. And that make me change my mind. Lucky you got another cake for your boy on the actual day. :)
 
Suzanne, actually MMF dun store in fridge better. cos the condensation of the water will make the consistency of the MMF wrong. u need to knead again with sugar or add cornstarch till it is pliable again. then aft moulding the figurine, DO NOT STORE in fridge ok....

catch up later. i gotta finish up the last bit of my son's bday cake cos the celebration is at 3pm!

mummies, I have tried ecreative tarts for Isaac's full month and my friends said it's nice. I don't try the ecreative catering though. The last time, I tried Neo Garden if I dun remember wrongly and pple said it's nice and the serving portion is big also.
 
Nov1mum: So sorry to hear abt the unhappy incident. Will not consider Pine Garden then. I've yet to order my boy's cake, thick skinned and checked with my friend who mentioned she'll take care of it yest, she said she'll send me pic to choose the design next wk. She told me still in time to order....sigh, really hope so, else will offer pandan cake for the cake cutting liao.

Birthday Games: Mummies planning for any games for the kiddos? Will be brining some colour pencils and colour papers for the kids to entertain them, what else huh? Can share and advise? Most of my little guests are abt 2-3 year old.

you can get those playdough thing for the kids, my sis bought some for my nephew's party and i see some kids (mostly gals lah) and a few adults sitting quietly at a corner playing with them, moulding animals, french fries..etc. for me, i never provide such "services" lah..cos my audience varies..hehe..lame excuse of being lazy lah.

So sorry to hear about your ordeal. I also ordering from Pinegarden. I just choose an existing design from their photos. Hope they wont screw up for mine.
 
Poissons & Cindy: Thanks for sharing. Play dough & passing parcel is a gd idea. Kids that age will enjoy. Will also be buying those blow bubbles for them to roam around and play.

Ciny: Are u engaging the Mac Donald's staff over to yr party? Rem u mentioning wanting to get them.
 
hi, been on MC last 2 days. yesterday both me & ash went to the doc. Her cough & flu did not recover getting worst, doc say may need to start her on antibiotics if dun recover by Sunday

This morning went to buy the ferrari car seat at Tangs, offer only $270+. On impulse bought Maclaren Daytripper at $99.

I am getting worried about ash's BD party. Last count we hv >150 guest when my function room can only go up to 50. I am ordering to Eatzi. For entertainment we engage 2.5 hr service which includes face painting, balloon scrupting & games. Order balloons from Poisson's contact. Just hope actual day no rain cos part of my function room is outdoors.

cactusnah, i usually pack activities into goodie bags for them to play/use during the party so that they can also bring home. sometimes its nt easy to gather kids ard to play a game, so its more free and easy kid of play. this yr hubby will be getting some fish nets and all for the kiddos to 'fish' in our 'inflatable pond'

Hey, on the car seat. We wanted to buy the Ferrari car seat too, was selling at Toys R Us for $299 but was out of stock abt 3 weeks ago. U bght the RED or the new Brown one?

Cindy: My sis just called, think the price for Mac has increased. Used to be $7.50 when we check out last month, now they're charging $10/kiddo. I asked her to think twice since she has got many kids attending the party. Might as well use the $ to engage some pro party planner, etc.
 
Just came bk from my son's bday celebration in school. here's what i have been busy with for the past few days....

SPONGEBOB theme birthday cakes and cuppies - my first attempt in making a proper fondant covered cake and cuppies...hubby said the buttercream has improved alot...phew...so glad the cakes were all wiped out by teachers and kids!

Have MIA for quite a while. Takes hours to speed read all the posts! Wah so many of your Baobeis can walk liao envy leh. Mine still cruising with support. Can only stand without support. Like some of the kids she also just recover from fever and got virus rash but all gone now relieve for me. So worried when I saw the rash and kept calling the PD.

Everyone is getting ready for the birthday bash in Nov.

Helium Tank: Mummies, any idea how many ballons (roughly) can the rented tank fill up? I dun have many ballons to fill up, aA bit wasted to just fill up my 20-30 ballons.
 
YA i forgt actuay can hv playgroups in ur house ladies...u can alwasy form urselves.....like S@L got special skills in handicrafts and baking.....skyeskye hubby's a teacher so.....its not tat difficult but need planning only......me can only make kopi and tea la :p

I find the fondant really hard to manage...my cupcakes will not be anywhere as good as yours!

CActus, yes i baked the cake and kneaded the fondant from scratch. really not an easy task....taste wise i m quite happy, cannot expect too much liao...hehehe
but for Mischa's main bday cake, still no courage to make le..cos will be a 3D hello kitty...i dun think i can sculpt very well yet.

Catherine,wow cannot la u wan Baby Pooh theme right? My skills not there yet...if simple cuppies i m still ok....hehehee

weishy, what theme u wan? hehehe...dare nt sell my stuff yet la. make for my own consumption still ok
 
plumsource, ya really hard work. i had to divide the work into batches. day 1-melt and knead fondant. then knead them into different balls of colours.
2nd day-mould the figurine, plan the cuppies style etc.
3rd day bake cake- decorate the cuppies. shape the main cake and cover with fondant.
only today finally finish and all wiped out within 30min!

Kekeke u must be thinking how come the fondant can prepare so early in advance...ya actually it can keep for weeks. so its a good alternative if u dun hv enough time to do in a day. can make them in batches prior to an event!

oh... any mummies wan to sell "Fun At One" deco for baby boy? if u come across anyone selling, pls let me know too! too late for me to order from spree. tot the design is nice.
 
for cakes, bengawan sells baby mickey &amp; baby looney toons &amp; "adult" pooh while polar sells many cartoon character (including hello kitty) but no pooh. sianz...

Ferrari car seat: got the seat + booster for $199 at this year's great singapore sale. That's the lowest I've seen cos my hubby has been eyeing it for a while but $270 is the next lowest. Got it from Robinsons.
 
hi ladies,

as requested, here is a pic of my cake. i told them specifically not to put alcohol, not to put the jelly roll thingy, not to put the bally piping thing around the bottom of each layer but to use ribbons instead to create a clean look. but all the items not done. most angry is no response from them again today. 3 days liao!!!

can't believe them man... never never ever going back again. wish the mummies who ordered from them luck... may your experience be better than mine.

had i read abt the mummies' bad experiences earlier, i certainly would not have ordered from them... i only read that their service is bad, never thought it meant that they couldn't follow instructions at all... argh... just feel angry that i basically threw money down the drain. coz like 1.5kg of the cake ended up not eaten and probably thrown away. argh argh argh...

So sianz, Claire down with roseola in HK and I m bringing her home alone with me tmr... *Shudders* at the thought of the 3.5 hr flight alone with her....

Now, i just wish Claire's fever will go down and the rashes come out coz the PD told me that once the rashes appear, the fever will subside!

can understand your frustrations..each time i order a cake for an occasion i always very worried abt the outcome. so far luckily no bad experience la. Reason why i didnt get Pine garden is becos i find the design really too predictable. almost all the bdays i attended this yr looks more or less the same.and almost all flavour are the same.
very surprised that they cannot even remember ur simple instructions. my fren told me their response was rather slow, no customer service.

i suggest u post ur incident in a new thread since their not responding to you. the power of forum!!!
